Broadchurch thread 2- the one where everyone in MNPD requests a transfer to the traffic division

Thread number one.

So are we all still watching, despite the mumbling, bad writing and inaccuracies?

I'm not sure what ClaireGwen is up to, but they've written her to like kinky sex which in telly land means she's a bad un.

Last night's highlight for me was DH's genuine confusion over whether subtitles were for the hearing impaired or vision impaired (he may have had a couple of beers). Also sweaty Lee hammering in fence posts.

Has that junior solicitor fella been in something on CBBC?

When does The Missing season 2 start?

There must have been something on the floor where he bashed her head, or she wouldn't have bled like that.

Also, Pippa's body was found. They must have been able to tell the cause of death was asphyxiation. As soon as they did the autopsy, Ricky would have known that the Rohypnol didn't kill her, and Claire's flask blackmail would have been worthless.

BOFster · 23/02/2015 22:09

Series Three will deal with the compelling mystery of why it takes Lee so long to build a fence when he can lay a laminate floor in twenty minutes.

APlaceInTheWinter · 23/02/2015 22:10

EauRouge your question about how Lee can build fences in jail is the most important question for any future series Grin

lostoncemore · 23/02/2015 22:10

Well there were some cliffs at the end..

moggiek · 23/02/2015 22:10

Ah, yes, but by the time series three rolls around we'll have wiped how rubbish series two was from our collective psyches, think fondly of series one and watch to see if it can be emulated .....

EauRouge · 23/02/2015 22:10

So was the cliffhanger the fact Hardy didn't say where he was going?

Well, wherever it is he means business. He did his top button up.

BOF Grin

AnnieHoo · 23/02/2015 22:11

Oo good spot eaurouge he does mean business.

LifeOfBriony · 23/02/2015 22:12

I liked the way they deLt with Joe. Joe couldn't really return to living in Broadchurch (but why Sheffield? - I have family there).

No confusion this week, and it had a completely different tone to the last 7 episodes.

The solution to Sandbrook was grim, though.

Series 3 - the Sandbrook trial?Hmm

lostoncemore · 23/02/2015 22:12

Anna - Fred is Ellie and Joe's son.

whothehellknows · 23/02/2015 22:13

Series 3 will involve a partnership between Lee and Laurence Lewellyn Bowen where they refurbish his prison cell in just one day.

(was kind of hoping they'd find joe at the bottom of some cliffs and that would be the end of that.)

lostoncemore · 23/02/2015 22:14

Yeah my bet is it will be the sandbrook trial and the investigation/retrial of the lawyers son.

annabanana19 · 23/02/2015 22:14

Thank you. Its been a long time since fred was on the scene I didn't realise.

girliefriend · 23/02/2015 22:15

It was all a bit rubbish, am surprised Joe was found not guilty as doesn't paint the justice system in a very good light does it Hmm

It is not believable that Lee would have murdered that girl, he would have just called the police. It would not have been hard to prove that Lee didn't kill her, but to go from punching a stalker to child murderer is a pretty big stretch of the imagination.

Watchable and some good acting - at times...

Nerf · 23/02/2015 22:18

Totally agree. They are asking us to accept that Ricky was violent when drink and sexually frustrated and jealous of his niece so killed her, that Lee would stand by and say nothing and then kill a small girl, and that Claire was also a fuck up.

whothehellknows · 23/02/2015 22:19

Yeah, how did Lee go from "You can't give her what's in that flask!" to going up and grabbing a pillow? I would have believed it of Claire, but not of him.

And why the fuck was Claire then hiding out with Hardy? What did she have to be scared of?

Angelto5 · 23/02/2015 22:19

Anyone else still wondering who Lee knew if France? Possible red herring?

Angelto5 · 23/02/2015 22:20

In not if (bloody phoneConfused)

whothehellknows · 23/02/2015 22:22

They had already made it clear that Ricky was a date rapist, so him losing it and slapping Lisa was believable. But after that point I just don't buy it.

APlaceInTheWinter · 23/02/2015 22:22

Yy Ricky accidentally murdering Lisa was plausible. Lee killing Pippa was not.

lostoncemore · 23/02/2015 22:28

Wasn't Claire shagging Ricky?

AnnieHoo · 23/02/2015 22:30

Wouldn't pippa have forgotten everything after taking the drug so they didn't need to kill her?

Yes France must have been a red herring which is annoying.

seaoflove · 23/02/2015 22:32

No, think about its: as Ricky said, Lee's DNA was all over (and inside) Lisa. Ricky said, of Lee blabbed, Ricky would implicate him.

Also, Pippa was listening outside and thought Lee did it.

Lee knew he was in serious trouble. Claire was the one who suggested Pippa needed to be bumped off, and set the wheels in motion by drugging her.
