Broadchurch thread 2- the one where everyone in MNPD requests a transfer to the traffic division

Thread number one.

So are we all still watching, despite the mumbling, bad writing and inaccuracies?

I'm not sure what ClaireGwen is up to, but they've written her to like kinky sex which in telly land means she's a bad un.

Last night's highlight for me was DH's genuine confusion over whether subtitles were for the hearing impaired or vision impaired (he may have had a couple of beers). Also sweaty Lee hammering in fence posts.

Has that junior solicitor fella been in something on CBBC?

When does The Missing season 2 start?

I know the story is rather shit but I love watching for the sceneryGrin it's beautifully shot.

MajesticWhine · 09/02/2015 22:40

yes that's how I read it - a reminder that normal life as a couple was not going to be possible.

Nerf · 09/02/2015 22:41

Did no one see my amazing spotting that the cousin hated Pippa?

Poppies26 · 09/02/2015 22:43

Think son did it as well for same reasons as biscuit. Think eldest girl is still alive. Bluebells are a sign of death maybe sent to Claire as a threat. She knows more than she says.

rollonthesummer · 09/02/2015 22:46

I thought the cousin was talking about hating the next door mum?!

Why did Claire go so apeshit when DT told her to leave? Did she think he'd fund her staying there forever??

Bakeoffcakes · 09/02/2015 22:49

Nerf, I didn't notice that, I thought she was taking about the woman, but you might be right!

Nerf · 09/02/2015 22:50

Claire was looking through the doors at the mum and Lee and Pippa was bouncing in between (because all Pippa ever did was trampoline). Cousin came up and said something like I hate her. I think she meant Pippa thinking Clare was watching Pippa.

AnnieHoo · 09/02/2015 22:53

I also thought babysitter was talking about Gillespie mum when she said I hate her.

InteriorsMum · 09/02/2015 22:55

I think the perfect looking family next door at the potential rental was like a reminder to them both of what it had been like before the girls went missing, could also be a sick fantasy they both have and they think this is an opportunity to have another go, perhaps they were in it together at sandbrook. The showing of the photo with the pendant was a mistake, I think she forgot it was in there hence burning it later. The defends lawyer son back story is preparing us for her failing in her job I think, she will get distracted and miss something in the case. Finally, Tom seems like a nasty little evil Shite to me, she should of left him with the sister WinkWink

BOFster · 09/02/2015 22:56

I have no idea why Claire went apeshit, but David Tennant ain't getting his deposit back now, that's for sure.

I presume that was to show us she's got a temper. A bit silly though- I don't think I could wreak that level of destruction even if the bank repossessed my house, much less after being told to clear off out of SOMEONE ELSE'S house.

And then she had the cheek to ask to move into Olivia Colman's gaff? I can just see the AIBU thread now...

I thought Claire went apeshit because she knew her duping of Hardy was starting to unravel. Hence the conversation with Lee about their "plan"; Lee telling her she'd messed up, followed by ridiculous wall sex. We're obviously about to find out more about what those two have been up to.

AnnieHoo · 09/02/2015 23:05

Claire is mad because she knows that if she is set free to go with Leigh she'll lapse into her sex addiction co-dependent relationship with him.

HouseOfBamboo · 09/02/2015 23:06

Yes she was darkly muttering about 'being a different person' when she was with him.

AWholeLottaNosy · 09/02/2015 23:08

BOF, I think your posts have entertained me more than Brosdchurch has! Smile

HouseOfBamboo · 09/02/2015 23:10

Wasn't there a bit where Claire was asked whether Lee had shagged alkie neighbour (mother of Pippa) and she said something like 'no the older women wasn't the problem, the younger one's a different matter though' ??

I thought that meant she was jealous of him and the older (disappeared) cousin. Maybe Pippa saw Claire murdering the cousin so had to be disappeared as well?

MadameJulienBaptiste · 09/02/2015 23:13

Just watching that wall shagging made my back hurt. All that rough stone ouch.
Claire seems spoilt and manipulative. Dt has seen through her so she assumes she can get OC wrapped round her little finger providing her with a house.

BOFster · 09/02/2015 23:19

Why thank you, Nosy- it brings out my inner Charlie Brooker Grin

firefly78 · 09/02/2015 23:23

i thought it was her. yes shes great in secrets and lies. maybe the part is too one dimensional.

eddiemairswife · 09/02/2015 23:35

Do we know what the relationship is between Charlotte Rampling and the newspaper editor; I can't remember what we have been told and what is speculation on here.

BOFster · 09/02/2015 23:58

In West Country parlance, I believe the phrase would be "My Loverrrrrrr".

eddiemairswife · 10/02/2015 00:07

Thanks BOF

PatterofaMinion · 10/02/2015 02:05

We haven't been told explicitly, Ive only just noticed it properly.
