I watched it and properly laughed a few times.

I'll be watching next week too.

thefemaleJoshLyman · 19/01/2015 23:11

Quite enjoyed it too.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 19/01/2015 23:17

Loved it.

Dh liked it too so that's a bonus :)

Queenofwands · 20/01/2015 07:03

I thought it was really funny. " did it seem can cancery?"

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 20/01/2015 08:09

I roared laughing a few times- can't recall doing that with a sitcom for a good long while apart from the big bang theory Hmm

thinking about it am bit worried about the cancery thing because at the mo it doesn't look very catastrophic

I think getting up the duff from a casual shag-a-thon when you each live on either side of the Atlantic is probably catastrophic enough.

We particularly liked it when SH's character is being all British and polite to someone she obviously doesn't really like and he's being all American and over share-y... and then after Ashley Jensen's character has gone SH says "she's a cunt."

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 20/01/2015 17:07

Yeah, but it doesn't look that catastrophic yet because both of them are a d o r a b l e and they like each other

And yes I LOVED 'she's a cunt'

I liked this but am worried that the cancer thing will turn it into something upsetting. I have health anxiety and have had cervical cancer so its a bit triggering for me. I was also a bit perturbed that no colposcopy was offered because they cannot realiably tell the stage of "pre-cancer" that someone is at without that. Also, the doctor/midwife was a fuckwit and this irritated me.

DP liked the program too so am hoping that it doesn't turn into something that we can't watch.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 20/01/2015 17:19

Give them time. We're still in the setting the scene phase :)

Next week there will be an Incident Of High Drama but by episode 3 it will be all will they/won't they make it as a couple and by episode 4 it will be resolved or leading up to a big cliff hanger, possibly with him getting on a plane.

Unless there are 6 episodes in which case insert episode of bizarrely hilarious incident (probably as a result of a misunderstanding from the common language but different culture) and episode of touching pathos.

I can't wait!

nancy75 · 20/01/2015 17:24

Strangely like watching real life for us (happily without the cancer scare) dd is the product of a similar start to a relationship Blush

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 20/01/2015 20:29

Moving if Sharon Horgan pulls off any touching pathos I'll shit a brick

(mind you there was a couple of sweet bits in Pulling, iirc)

and aawwwwww nancy Smile

I loved it too, as did DH. Some laugh out loud moments, which is rare. Sharon Horgan is wonderful. I sat next to her brother once at a lunch and talked about her. He's a well known rugby player, so might not have appreciated it in retrospect. Very nice bloke.

spritesoright · 22/01/2015 10:19

I caught it on catch up last night and laughed loads, as did DH. I think that it's not full of cheesy 'gags' like many American sitcoms but doesn't veer too far towards the cynical misanthropy of some recent comedies.
It was just sweet and true to life.

HoneywithLemon · 22/01/2015 14:21

I thought it was fabulous. Both leads excellent. Loved it.

grocklebox · 22/01/2015 14:27

She wasn't being all british and polite, she was being Irish and polite (not being british and all).

Loved it.

grocklebox · 22/01/2015 14:40

that looks snippy. Wasn't meant to be. Should have thrown in a Grin maybe?

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 22/01/2015 18:00

I noticed that. But was too British and polite to point it out Grin

maybe you could say she was being all British Isles and polite

MrsKravitzFromAcrossTheStreet · 23/01/2015 10:32

You didn't seem snippy Grockle. Grin

I bloody loved this! Watched it on catch up last night. They are both so funny and likeable and the script is fantastic. I liked when the kid asked him if she wears a wig which was obviously a private joke about her low thick hairline! I love Sharon Horgan - does anyone else want Dead Boss to come back?

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/01/2015 19:23

loved this

easy watching:)

jaffajiffy · 24/01/2015 03:47

Just watched on catch up. It's great, though I was distracted by what appeared to be a 12 wk scan announcing the baby's sex?

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2015 17:33

yes i thought that

  1. cant tell at 12 weeks

  2. she didnt ask if they wanted to know, just said theres a willy or something like that

CormoranStrike · 24/01/2015 21:42

Just watched this - fab!!!!!!!!
