Couldn't see a new Eastenders thread, so I thought I'd start one. Apologies if this is a duplication.

Great to hear Christian could be coming back.

And don't forget the attempted drowning

CMP69 · 23/01/2015 14:04

Good God I know 'Stenders love a bit of family turmoil but last nights second episode has wiped me out!

Southeastdweller · 23/01/2015 14:19

I didn't think Lee kissing his mum was at all creepy Confused

Loved the second episode last night and the performances from everyone were solid. Felt very much for Shirley.

SpanishFly · 23/01/2015 15:01

Have they got new producers or directors or something? I feel as if the whole production of the show has become really impressive rather than what we'd expect from soaps. Last night with Stan listening to Unforgettable and the other scenes going on while it played in the background - it was really well done and great to watch.

And as I mentioned previously, when Linda and Dean were telling their sides of the story at the same time, it was beautifully written and thought provoking. And brilliantly acted.

youarekiddingme · 23/01/2015 16:45

Lucy was strangled - as my friend just reminded me! So after me telling her my Peter and lexi toy/ mobile theory she has come up with this:

Peter gave lucy coke. Lucy was in Billy/Lola house and got tangled up in mobile due to drug overdose - it's strangled her and she died. Jane helped Peter dump the body.

Pyjamaramadrama · 23/01/2015 16:50

There was a lot going on in last night episodes, but sometimes it can happen like that in families. Where everything comes tumbling down all at once. Shirley only confessed she was Micks mum because he was hitting Dean after the rape. So one things led to another and we've seen a happy stable family fall apart.

AGnu · 23/01/2015 16:56

Lucy was strangled? The only information I've been able to find on cause of death was a newspaper article on the EE website which said it was a head injury. Confused

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/01/2015 18:52

sure lucy was strangled, said it before .......

youarekiddingme · 23/01/2015 18:55

I'm sure I got that information from an EE thread.

ilovechristmas1 · 23/01/2015 19:07

wow i had soap overload last night double EE double Emmerdale was a very happy bunny

Justwanttomoveon · 23/01/2015 19:22

Lucy died from trauma to her head and there were no obvious wounds on her so don't think she was strangled.

buddhasbelly · 23/01/2015 19:45

on any tabloid reporting of the clue from the NTAs, they all report it as "the last thing Lucy heard was her music box" - yet many fans have now played that music back and it isn't the same.

It would be a poor show on EE's part if they had meant the music played at the NTAs to signal the music box but didn't go to the effort to make it the same music as Xmas day's episode Confused

buddhasbelly · 23/01/2015 19:48

It is either bad reporting and stating that it's the music box or the EE team have overlooked the tune we have already heard. I hope I'm wrong and reporters have just jumped to conclusions about the sound's origins...I may be getting too into this this evening..

youarekiddingme · 23/01/2015 20:55

Maybe then une is a red herring? The last thing she heard was the mobile messages we did?!

youarekiddingme · 23/01/2015 20:56

Tbh I really dont hunk after all the effort going into keeping the killer a secret and a 10 month 'who done it' they would make a mistake with what music the box played!

AGnu · 23/01/2015 21:33

I've just very carefully listened to all the music box sounds & I'm fairly sure that the one opened at Christmas is the same as the one played at the NTA. In the NTA clip they play the classic "Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day" bit but the not-very-wound-up box opened at Christmas plays the final line ridiculously slowly. I'm still not convinced it's the same as the one that Ian opened to find her drugs.

Other interesting points I noted that could be complete red herrings: In the Christmas day episode, Abi reminds the Brannings about taking the presents from under the tree. Emma packs them into bags to take. The camera cuts to Lauren looking a bit shifty while Cindy is opening the present. The writing on the present isn't very neat.

Oooohhhh.... Remember how they did that unnecessary shot of signatures when Ben signed over The Arches? Anyone remember what day that was? I need to do some handwriting comparison!

We've not heard anything about Ronnie recently have we? Confused

Pocketsocks · 23/01/2015 21:39

I have a gut feeling that Whitney did it. My theory on the music box is only slightly more thought through. I think it was sent to Cindy as a warning to keep quiet. That girl knows more than she should on a regular basis.

Pocketsocks · 23/01/2015 21:40

Apologies if someone has already had that theory. Thread was to long to read from page 4 without skimming slightly, long day!

AGnu · 23/01/2015 21:48

Right definitely not either Max or Ben who wrote the tag on Beth's present. The B's are different.

Good thought re: Whitney. I seem to remember noticing that her handwriting wasn't very neat, although Tamwar did mention something about her style being to write in capitals... I'll do a bit more research...

youarekiddingme · 23/01/2015 21:50

Whitney wrote the rot in hell tag on the flowers.

AGnu · 23/01/2015 22:01

Yes, I've just found a picture of it & I don't think it's the same handwriting. It's tricky to tell because there are no capital Bs on it but the R looks very different to the B of Beth. Hmm... How long do you think it'll take me to collect writing samples of all the characters?! Probably longer than DH will be patient with me tapping on the laptop for! SadBlush

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/01/2015 22:17

Still think jane

I don't think any of the lot dermot said was it

fixedit · 23/01/2015 22:25

I saw a theory maybe on here....? That maybe Peter gave her drugs and didn't help her when she died and that's why Emma yelled on the phone ITS STILL MURDER.

VashtaNerada · 23/01/2015 22:28

Although a police officer would definitely know the definition of murder. So it has to be someone over the age of criminal responsibility, can't be neglect or manslaughter etc.
