Given what happens to me when I sneeze unexpectedly I don't think my pelvic floor is up to the demands of an orgy either.

cjwoofwoof · 26/01/2015 13:41

I'm wondering if we should stage the wrestling first, then invite, say, quarterfinalists onwards to Richteas orgy at Bailbrook. That way we're guaranteed CJ, Rupert, D'Artagnan and the Strike Back Boys because I'll rig the results if they win fair and square. There'd certainly be no need then to bring my DH in his velcro suit as he'll be surplus to requirements much happier at home.

icemistOBE · 26/01/2015 13:42

hi richtea glad you and me richtea were able to sort it out.

I guess when we post things we are forgetting that although we are anonymous anyone can read what we write. I Think it might at times maybe worry some people about what they write or what's written.
I'm sure if it was a group of men talking about Molly the way we have CJ there would be ructions about it!

Although nothing is actually going to happen- its all imagination.

cjwoofwoof · 26/01/2015 13:44

Really, icemist? Is it only imagination? Bah! I've exfoliated for nothing, then!

icemistOBE · 26/01/2015 13:45

This ff -

anyone else feel a bit Hmm that there is a character Ben??? It's a bit too real for me..,,

Oh Richtea so glad to hear everything's OK now. I didn't know whether to cry at the awfulness of misunderstandings and where they can lead or laugh at the idea of a group of ladies using mumsnet to arrange an illicit weekend orgy away somewhere. Thank goodness you weren't on the Musketeers thread!

Seriously though, I suppose it just highlights how much the thread has evolved from the straightforward discussion about the story and plot of OG and what would happen after episode 4 to the bizarre ramblings it is today. After almost 10,000 posts it would be very hard for anyone to pick up the conversation in the space of a few days and understand what is going on. Its not surprising that new joiners have lurked for a long time first.

I tend to give my DH edited verbal highlights of what's being discussed from time to time just to keep him a bit in the loop. He's not really interested and does think we're all crazy - which is a fair assessment but I don't care!

Rhubarb01 · 26/01/2015 14:00

Icemist if there was a dadsnet thread on which men discussed Molly in the same terms as CJ gets discussed on here we would have to say it was fine because she's a fictional character so it's OK.

orphan · 26/01/2015 14:08

Also, I do think that most of what we say is sooo loopy and basically certifiable, that it goes beyond offensive (I hope) and is also clearly all in the deranged imagination.

richtea what happened to the Savoy event? Wasn't that at the weekend? And don't you have an interview this week?

Onlygirljen · 26/01/2015 14:14

richtea, so very glad things are resolved, or at least on their way - was gutted for you yesterday.

Up all night with youngest DS, who seems to have lost all ability to sleep over the last few nights. Feel like a total mess, forgot how much sleep deprivation kills. Need to break out the eye cream pronto - flying to London tomorrow morning for work, and obviously need to keep the eyes wide open incase there are any actors landing at LHR from Canadian flights....

Can see the headline now - sleep deprived crazed mother traps actor in gorilla hold in airport shocker...Blush

Richtea19 · 26/01/2015 14:25

It's so good to be back, and that's after 24hrs awol ! What am I going to do when we go on holiday!

Yes all such a misunderstanding, although my measuring techniques are still there and I am hoping to be able to fulfil the "brief" with Orphan Grin

We went to the Savoy, which was lovely. I got very drunk as they only serve doubles... Lots of posh frocks, plastic surgery, big fake boobs and long blonde locks! Whereas I was the opposite looking like an ironing board with my small tips of icebergs! I recognised a few people from MOTD on telly. I did meet Thierry Henry, swoon..... And also the chelsea goal keeper, I can't remember his name but very lovely - in fact a suitable candidate for fireside wrestling, big hands too!!!

orphan · 26/01/2015 14:35

Now, that's my kind of place - only doubles served. Bet the prices are quadruples though!

onlygirl it would probably take a taser to detach you from the gorilla lock. I'd love it if one of us did actually spot BA in RL. I wonder what we'd do. I think I'd probably get such a rush of blood to my head (and other regions) that I'd probably not be in any state to approach him.

Nickel45 · 26/01/2015 14:43

Peter cech ... Or one of the others richtea ... That's the only one I know, back from before kids when I used to go! They are all very young now! Thierry Henri ... Yum, can he wrestle too!?
(Welcome back Grin xx)

I've just booked my hol with parents and kids, and was dithering cos there is no wifi .... before I decided I couldnt justify going to go to a cottage I didn't like and was £100 more, just for wifi ... although, thinking about it, was that the right choice? ..... I'll just have to check in here during the day ... I'll be ok .... I will .... Anyway, it's months away, no point worrying now (mental note, check out whether the nearest pub has wifi!)

onlygirl sleep depravation is really tough. Hope you get a better night tonight .... Quick dose of calpol? Quick shove in the ribs of DH to get up and sort it??! (Mine sleeps through kids waking up all the time though! Just not fair!)

Nickel45 · 26/01/2015 14:47

icemist I agree with you about the ff with Ben in it .... It just doesn't feel quite right. Really like the story though, just wish it had been a different name I suppose!

'Fess up then, if the authors is on here ... Cos I do really like the story!

Richtea19 · 26/01/2015 14:54

onlygirl lack of sleep is a killer. Why is it our other halves never seem to hear them cry in the night. Hope it gets better. Slap that eye cream on as you don't want to miss a possible BA sighting at the airport!

nickel last year when we went on holiday we purposely booked our villa without wifi just so the boys had to find something else to do, but DH and I really missed it! Then there's an excuse to go to a pub to check your emails!

cjwoofwoof · 26/01/2015 15:05

Just an idea onlygirl but if you're sleep deprived, can you use your time productively and write another bloody brilliant chapter? You may as well use the time wisely and we can all show solidarity with you by staying up half the night reading it and fantasizing Grin

Onlygirljen · 26/01/2015 15:24

DH is most definitely on duty tonight - need to get up at 5am to catch my flight, so he will be sorting any issues during the night. He's bloody awful for sleeping through it, but I'll be digging my elbows in until he gets up!

nickel - I had no wifi on our last hol and spent an awful lot of time in pubs and cafés to make up for it!

cjwoof good thinking! I have airport and flight time tomorrow earmarked for writing. Need to kick about the airport for a couple of hours before my flight home - will obviously be setting up a work station somewhere with a good view where I can neck a g&t, do some writing and watch out for BA catch up on really important work after my meeting Grin

orphan · 26/01/2015 15:32

nickel for our hols the first week we don't have wifi and the 3g was pretty patchy as far as I remember (been before); second week we should be ok. We usually pick somewhere that doesn't have wifi so that we all get a break, but this year I'm already regretting it! As richtea says, it's an excuse though to go to the local bar. Last holiday we were in the middle of Andalucia in the mountains and had daily treks to the tiny village bar to use their 'whiffy' as it was pronounced.Grin

orphan · 26/01/2015 15:42

Actually, you panicked me and I've just had to check that the second location does have wifi... phew, yes it does. Smile

Ilovelblue · 26/01/2015 17:16

Able to read this properly now just before I go home and most people around me have left for the day. So glad you are back Richtea and hopefully the air is now cleared. Hard to believe somebody could think we were seriously planning an orgy at Bailbrook House but you can see how things do get out of hand.

Re the new ff from TwiceKnightley (love the nom de plume!!), I thought Ben from Devon wasn't quite right. Maybe lacking a little imagination in choosing a name but other than that, it is reading quite well and am liking how it draws in some of the other characters from the series.

I happened to listen to an interview Jeremy Vine was doing at lunchtime whilst driving back to work from the supermarket about children and technology and comparing it with our own childhoods. Not only that, but you only need to go back ten years or so and I bet hardly any of us now on here (or only the odd one) would have ever, ever have heard of these forums. I would have killed for something like this for discussing my English Literature set A level texts back in the early 80s! If I'd put in as much effort there as I have done on this, I may have got a better grade!! (It was ok, but I think I'd started to lose interest a bit by then).

onlygirl hope you get lots of inspiration when you're hanging around airports tomorrow!

cherin · 26/01/2015 17:39

I am soo not going to make it to the 7pm train home, I want to cry. Can you believe I haven't had a "comfort break" all day?? I left home at 5:30!!!
Run, cherin, run...

Onlygirljen · 26/01/2015 17:51

Oh cherin, that's not good! Hope it has at least been a worthwhile day!

ilove I'll try! Have just read the latest klipdoctor chapter and feeling slightly traumatised! I really hope he pulls it towards a happy conclusion! Need to have a read of the new life after afghan one you mentioned.

icemistOBE · 26/01/2015 18:17

Omg! That chapter from Klipdoctor had me nearly in tears Sad

OP posts:
orphan · 26/01/2015 18:22

cherin you surely don't mean you haven't had chance to go to the loo, do you?! If so, your bladder must be far stronger than mine. I'm always terrified if we get stuck in a really long traffic jam that I'll end up having to do something rather undignified with an empty water bottle ...Blush

Ilovelblue · 26/01/2015 18:42

Struth, I've just read klipdoctor's latest chapter as well. Will Charles be a suitable donor?

A reviewer called him Matt. Does he hang out on FB or Twitter?

orphan · 26/01/2015 18:44

I hadn't realised klipdoctor had updated. I've just read it and Sad. A bit of a shock to say the least. Am going to re- read onlygirl's to cheer myself up!
