Commodities plot hole - ok, so Milady was cut down by the blacksmith. What about the priest who was there? Was he in on it too, or did he mysteriously disappear/walk away without looking back to see her being cut down/revived?

In the book isn't the priest Milady's lover? They pretend to be brother and sister. He is the one who marries Athos and Milady so that's why they can question the validity of the marriage but he is a real, if fallen, priest.

Oh I just go off to spend some time with real leather and men in breeches at the stables and when I get back you wenches are 13 pages into a new thread......phew ( gallops off into the mud again...)

MrsB the Priest is the lover-disguised-as-borther in the book, nut I dpn't think he marries them - he runs off in despair when Milady tells him she's marrying Athos. (from what I remember) also, I think in the book Athos strings her up himself - they don't explain how she escaped. (Need to re-read I guess)
