Happy New Year tennis folks (and others of course, if there are any) :)

Getting very very excited to see Pot back in action, feel like a hyperactive child rather than a middle aged woman. He didn't make it to Brisbane so wasn't counting on Sydney but he's there. Look:

Definitely push Roger off the cliff. Not sure about the others.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 28/01/2015 20:45

I know he's not a current tennis player, but Castle has to be first off the cliff, surely.

magimedi · 28/01/2015 22:35

Raahh - You can just fuck off to the far side........................

El Pot is MINE. all Mine & no one elses.

(El Pesky can have him on a Sunday night , cos a young girl like me needs a day off!)

PS - My DH is about 1.5 ft taller than me & we've managed 30 years!!

Raahh · 29/01/2015 07:37

Grin Magi

And ooh, yes. Castle definitely needs turfing off a cliff.

Right. I'm knackered, thanks to migraine meds that work pretty well touch wood, but leave me permanently tired and fatSad . So- do I come back from school and sleep? Or watch the Murray match? decisions, decisions.

I will try and watch the match (and maybe catch 40 winks in the middle).

Berdych leads the hth- and has won their last two meetings. But they were in 2013, so it depends on who has improved since then. Even though Murray has the titles, I think Berdych is the more consistent. And now has Murray's old coaching team, awkward.

And then there is the 'Battle of Bling'- Kim's engagement ring is worth £250,000, whilst Berdych is clearly a cheapskate, as his fiancee's ring was onlt £225, 000. According to the Daily Fail, anyway Grin

Morning !

BBC John Lloyd & Sue are saying Andy is favourite but it will be a tough match.

How is he fave with the hth stats ?

Here we go...

MrsVamos · 29/01/2015 08:54

Just thought I'd add.

AC IS NOT COMMEMTATING.

Grin
MrsVamos · 29/01/2015 08:55

Ummmm.

That would be COMMENTATING.

Right - i am in a gad mood. Calm me down. I have just spent am hour in a blized because ds forgot his school bag. he already has a detention for not doing homework. I swear I do not recognise him since he started secondary. I hate driving at the best of times. I've got to go out later for dd2 from nursery, so I hope it settles down out there. There was even lightning. Wtf??!

Anyway- I missed the first 3 games.

I need a stiff drinkGrin

The commentary on Eurosport is already biased as hell. I may turn over.

Raahh · 29/01/2015 08:56

The sound is better on BBC2Grin

Raahh · 29/01/2015 08:58

I'm not keen on Berdych's outfit. From a distance he looks like he's wearing turquoise undies over his white shorts.

Raahh · 29/01/2015 09:00

I dislike Murray's on principle because dh has loads of those black under armour tops for playing softball. And he's always losing them. it annoys me. Grin

MrsVamos · 29/01/2015 09:01

Its not so biased on bbc - honest.

Its already not going Andy's way, apparently he should have broken already. Hmm

I think this will be tougher than anyone thought, unless Berdych goes to pieces.

I'm sooo glad I don't have the school hassles, although DS did start college early last Sept but he's doing brilliantly its just stupid 15 y o behaviour that annoys me.

Wait till the inability to speak actual words starts, Raahh and you have to decipher 'yes' or 'no' from a variety of grunts. Sometimes whole conversations. Grin

MrsVamos · 29/01/2015 09:04

Yy, Berdych's outfit is a bit 'pretty' isn't it.

Lingerie-ish. Grin

Raahh · 29/01/2015 09:06

I think ds (who was always a bit of a pet with the teachers at primary, and very popular) is trying too hard to fit in. With everyone. It isn't really working. He needs to just be himself. He was bullied during the first term, and one of the culprits was moved- the other still torments him. it's a tough learning curve. Plus he's tiny - but a massive hit with the girlsGrin.

No- so far the commentary isn't so bad. I'll wait till Berdych wins this set, and see how it changesGrin

Raahh · 29/01/2015 09:07

Maybe H&M thought they were designing for a womanGrin

Raahh · 29/01/2015 09:12

Is Kenny Rogers doing the conga?

MrsVamos · 29/01/2015 09:13

I told DS the teenage years are the shittiest of all, and that it is desperately crap - he has come across some nasty little fuckers at college - one who punched him in the face, bearing in mind his college mates are all 2+ years older than him - came home with a split lip and got moved up a level...anyway, we told him that although it can be really hard, in a short time you will move on and never see the arseholes again.

Very, very hard at school though, you have to put up with it for years.

The hardest thing they do is realise they just have to be themselves.

DS has made some great mates though, who all surround and 'look after' him - he's a hit with the girls cos he's younger !

I really feel for you & DS it can be utterly miserable and I wouldn't wish it anyone.

Tomas is very nice , to let people bugger up his surname. Since I got married, it's one of bugbears.

MrsVamos · 29/01/2015 09:17
Smile

People get my surname wrong, and spell it wrong too. After so many years I'm used to it.

Berdych is playing really well.

Serving for set !

Raahh · 29/01/2015 09:17
Thanks

my Niece is in year 11, so all her mates look out for him. I think if he just gets through this year, and isn't a newbie anymore, it will help. The pastoral care is great- unfortunately he has a form tutor who is new to the school, and teaching- so it's like the blind leading the blind. Bloody daft decision- why didn't they give her a form who knew the ropes??

Anyway- back to the tennis- and Tomas, who I am warming to slightly- is serving for the set. Grin

Raahh · 29/01/2015 09:18

Don't blow it now, Tommy!

Raahh · 29/01/2015 09:20

Bollocks.

Good rally though.

MrsVamos · 29/01/2015 09:23

Always helps to have friends and relatives in an older year.

That was the problem with DS. College Tutors first year teaching too, and as it has transpired got lumped with the worst possible class. Until DS was moved a class, he was in a group who have all come from PRUs. Really helpful for a bright, home ed kid, who was invited to start college early. Hmm

If we had known we would never have let him take the course. Hard to change halfway through. Still, having been moved its much better.

This match is shaping up nicely.

Mama1980 · 29/01/2015 09:24

Morning all Smile
Am wanting berdych to win here, have to say I'm warming to him. A couple of his interviews have been great, funny and polite.
Think they are both looking very up for this, but nervous.

MrsVamos · 29/01/2015 09:26

Morning Mama.

I've always liked Berdych. I think he's s sweetie.
