I hope your ds is ok Raahh. I ?as a awful geek at school (still am ) socially inept and bullied terribly to start with but having a lot of older brothers helped. It s a tough learning curve to realise that anyone worth knowing won't want you to change. Especially if life is being made hard for him. I hope your niece can keep a eye out, it can't hurt.
