I came home from work thinking it had been a really strange day. The ff has perked me up! Tea was late at Ilove's house tonight!

There was the excitement of an "insider" amongst us at lunchtime (thanks outin, sooooo glad you broke cover) and then after I'd calmed down (and wiped the tomato soup up from my keyboard), a colleague came to tell me he had just come out of a four month affair and he was on the verge of leaving his wife! What??????????? I sat there afterwards wondering if I'd really heard him properly. It was followed with "Don't tell anyone" which is fine, but he chose to tell me in the middle of the office with at least seven people who could have tuned in to the conversation. We chat a bit but it's nearly always about work. I hadn't a clue he had problems in his marriage and to be honest, I wish he'd not chosen to tell me!

An early bedtime tonight I think. I feel quite drained. I may have a new sign made for my desk "Agony aunt - come and tell me your problems".

onlygirl I LOVE this story so much. You are such a superb writer. I love Chris - a great foil for CJ. Might just reread the chapter now cos wasn't there mention of glistening chest and perfect torso...?

Oneforthegirls · 12/01/2015 20:44

Onlygirl Don't care where he comes from, just keep him there!

Ilovelblue · 12/01/2015 20:46

Onlygirl does RL Chris know he has given you inspiration for your new character. Is he/will he be flattered?

orphan · 12/01/2015 20:46

ilove you must give off sympathetic, good listener vibes as opposed to my sod off ones!

pixieg1rl · 12/01/2015 20:48

Chris is excellent.

Oneforthegirls · 12/01/2015 20:50

Ilove that happened to me once. A friend confessed to multiple affairs and one night stands. I had to suffer the embarrassment of seeing her husband quite often. It was depressing me because she became quite brazen about it. I realised that she off loaded onto me which meant I was then carrying her guilt. In the end I had to ditch her because it was unfair on me to keep everything quiet.

orphan · 12/01/2015 20:52

onlygirl he doesn't happen to have a tall, devastatingly good looking, brown eyed best friend does he?!

Ilovelblue · 12/01/2015 20:54

I was just so shocked Onefor because he just dropped it into conversation after he came to scrounge some sticky labels from me! There was no preamble, just straight in. As I said, I know very little about his personal circumstances other than that he is married with a small daughter. I felt very disconcerted after he left. What with that and my work friend whose Mum has died, I do feel like an agony aunt.

outinthesticksmum · 12/01/2015 20:54

This might be a really daft question but is it more CJ than BA? For me it was always Dougie Henshall in a ch4 drama called 'Psychos' which no one else watched and it disappeared after one series. When he then did something on ITV with dinosaurs I felt absolutely nothing! There was no iplayer when it went out it was never repeated and after years and years of waiting to see it again, Psychos suddenly appeared on 4OD and I was able to watch it over and over again.

Onlygirljen · 12/01/2015 20:59

orphan unfortunately not!! Think id need a cold compress if so! ilove he doesn't know that I have introduced him to any fictional ramblings (ff is my dirty little secret!!) but his head would no doubt inflate even further if he did! Some of the stuff he gets up to in RL is unbelievable - I do like to live vicariously through some of his ridiculous stories!!

Onlygirljen · 12/01/2015 21:00

Ooooh, new rhubarb chapter. That plus broadchurch - happy Monday evening!! Off to read now Grin

orphan · 12/01/2015 21:01

Yes, it's CJ really that I'm completely mad about. BA is of course gorgeous but the combination of low slung combats, head sets, arms crossed, legs apart stance... Need I say more?!

threadNneedle · 12/01/2015 21:04

outin it's CJ for me until proved otherwise.
Totally spoiled with the quantity and quality of FF tonight. thanks all.

Ilovelblue · 12/01/2015 21:04

Hmmmm, outin, if you've read the previous threads, you will probably know that most of us hadn't come across BA in anything else up until OG. I had watched Lark Rise but didn't remember him. We have since seen clips of him, much younger, in other things and have decided he has matured very well in the interim. However, his appeal was most certainly enhanced in OG because of the authority of the character he played and the uniform (the combats out in Afghan maybe more than his dress uniform at Smurf's funeral). Although the restaurant scene is now one of my favourites, we were all a little shocked at how different he looked out of uniform as we had spent 4.5 hours seeing him in his gorgeous combats. We all seemed to agree that if any of our husbands or partners were so bossy, we'd tell them where to go, but it seemed to work for CJ.

Do feel free to pass this on, either to Ben himself or any of the scriptwriters/producers/directors etc etc as free and totally unsolicited market research from a panel of expert women!!

orphan · 12/01/2015 21:05

That was in response to outinthe by the way.

Nickel45 · 12/01/2015 21:05

Kids are finally asleep (fingers crossed!) and i have final had time to read the ff's. wow!
Espio love it! But if you think you've put us off of digging further ... Think again! Hee hee!!! You must know us better than that by now! So funny though .... Although, it entirely sure I wanted to be reminded of the ttte malarkey ....eugh!!
ourgirl brilliant chapter, so pleased CJ finally told Molly he hadn't forgotten ... I'm getting far too involved with these ff, waiting out for the next chapters.
outin definitely CJ for me. BA while completely gorgeous, obviously, doesn't make me feel like a lovesick teenager (was trying to think of something mature to write, but couldn't!). Will shut up now, while I still have a shred of dignity left ... Maybe!

Richtea19 · 12/01/2015 21:06

rhubarb I'm going to save your new chapter for bedtime when I have some quiet time.

outin yep it's CJ, although I did buy a ticket to the carol concert that BA was meant to be going to! It's all about the combats, rolled up sleeves, big watch, headset, lip biting and bulge!!!

Oneforthegirls · 12/01/2015 21:07

outin hope you are not asking because you are really BA! How's Reign going? Anyway, I would say 60/40 CJ/BA but has to be current age BA. Not into the younger version. Whilst I agree the uniform is a big pull, the lumberjack shirt still worked for me too.

orphan · 12/01/2015 21:07

However outin if you were able to rustle up a private meet and greet (and quick soft tape measure session) with BA, I don't think any of us would say no!

Richtea19 · 12/01/2015 21:13

I'm available if such meeting happens:)

orphan · 12/01/2015 21:13

He could perhaps arrive in lumber jack shirt for the meet and greet then change into combats?

Ilovelblue · 12/01/2015 21:13

Yes outin we would come from all four corners of Britain to meet him! And definitely has to be current age BA, I agree with Onefor there.

Oneforthegirls · 12/01/2015 21:13

Hope I'm not going to be expelled from the thread for speaking up for a bit of BA? Yikes...

Nickel45 · 12/01/2015 21:19

Ha ha onefor as if!! no, you just have to tell us with specific details exactly why .....
