well attempted murder

qazxc · 06/01/2015 21:28

God poor kid. Thankfully he/she appears to have slept through it and not witnessed the violence.

ChoochiWoo · 06/01/2015 21:29

11.5 years... I love this series, find it fascinating.

WinterShivers · 06/01/2015 22:09

I'm actually really shocked at that sentence! Shock

tbf 11 years is more than a lot of murders get ...bare in mind baby p's mum only got 3/4 years

ChoochiWoo · 06/01/2015 22:20

I liked the officer,

Showy · 06/01/2015 22:25

That officer reminded me of DH so much (does the same job). Same manner, same wife at home warning him about being cynical. Grin

It's really gratifying to see an officer managing to get CPS to go for the correct charging decision. My phone rang at the end though. Did it drop down to wounding with intent? 11.5yrs is a pretty hefty sentence. The crime scene was terrifying.

mausmaus · 06/01/2015 22:26

fascinating and a scary case study of how dangerous it can be for women to try to leave abusive partners.

ChoochiWoo · 06/01/2015 22:33

and without being unfair....The dangers of internet dating/irresponsible parenting crossing over, the idea of a man you've known since august living in your house with your child is just incredibleSad ...shame she had to learn the hard way

Vivacia · 07/01/2015 20:44

Absolutely brilliant programme, really is a diamond of the TV listings at the moment.

Sidge · 07/01/2015 21:53

Just watched this, I recorded it yesterday. A fascinating series and I'm glad to see it back on TV.

All the police officers are so kind and respectful, and calm and caring even though those in custody have probably done some terrible things.

mausmaus · 07/01/2015 22:02

yes to the police officers being very calm and nice to people although the 'no comment' bit would drive me bonkers

Hassled · 07/01/2015 22:07

I watched this last night - such a good programme, so well made. That Polish translator - she looked very distressed at times. I really felt for her.

Sidge · 07/01/2015 22:18

She did, didn't she Hassled?

The translators must see and hear some shocking stuff Sad

ChoochiWoo · 08/01/2015 11:23

yeah the translator winced a few times, I didn't know what to make of the offender ..capable of such violence but did show some remorse...excellent programme.

ilovechristmas1 · 13/01/2015 21:05
