GoodQueen Richard armitage was first choice for Aramis. Which I think woukd have been dreadful casting.

Richard Armitage is way too old to be Aramis.

I agree Peachy, despite being hotter than a hot thing in a heatwave, RA is too old these days for Aramis.

God Richard Armitage would have been terrible. Aramis is supposed to be young and hot bodied headed.

Ooh agreed. RA totally wrong. He's excellent in moody roles but I also couldn't really see him as Athos.

Hermione can you remember who they wanted for Athos then?

Totally agree RA would've been wrong, and I lust after admire him with the best of 'em. Just not smoothly charming enough, he's more of a silent brooding sort

I can't speak for the other newbies to this thread, but a bit of wench porn always goes down well with me. Slash porn even more so. In fact, I have been known to dabble in the writing of certain literature myself, though not, to date, with the Musketeers as subjects.

FWIW, much as I love Tom Burke in the role, I could see Richard Armitage pulling off a very creditable Athos. Aramis though? Never!

I can't remember th others, it was a hard copy I saw but I'll see if I can get the info sent through and update you all. RA was one of the few actors I recognised. Agree, he could have been a possible Athos as his brooding is unsurpassed.

Does anyone remember when Athos faked his own death and then sat in their local with a big hat on? Happy times.

Livia we need a support group. I watched the clip linked to at the start of the thread and I wasn't at all taken with the new guy - Rochefort or whatever his name is. And I'm not a Dr Who fan so have got nothing from Peter Capaldi's move there. humph.
