Building on the theory that no-one saw Tony & Ollie at the pool could

a) they have gone somewhere else
b) been abducted together but Tony got away
c)or something happened to Ollie on the way to the pool..

And Tony is so guilt-ridden and scarred by what happened that he then raced to the pool and invented what we saw in the pool scene and the more he repeated it and it turned into an investigation the more he believed it?

Or maybe that's a bit fit far fetched?!

Ok, I am plumping for the woman who owns the hotel they stayed at being the one who took Ollie and then handed him on to Ian's cronies. A number of high ranking people in the town, the Mayor, etc., are involved - something like the Village of the Damned!
