Shifty Mark.

Sorry, late to the thread but loving it Xmas Grin

EmilyGilmore · 16/12/2014 01:31

I think he was enticed away from his father in the bar by his scarf. The abductor found it by the pool and came looking for them.

Is the grey haired man we see at the pool Carl Seig?

ArsenicStew · 16/12/2014 01:36

What french church?

iwantaginsoakedXmas · 16/12/2014 04:39

Alain I say.

ArsenicStew · 16/12/2014 06:06

Conspiracy.

Ian, Alain & Vincent all involved somehow.

LillianGish · 16/12/2014 06:43

Araminta Broadchurch is brilliant. In a way I'd quite like to rewatch it knowing the end because I'd like to see if I can spot the clues. I know I'll feel the same about The Missing when it is revealed that the culprit is someone entirely unlikely such as the woman running the charity shop.

AuntieStella · 16/12/2014 07:06

I think Ollie left his scarf in the changing room by mistake and went back all by himself to get it. Abductor was never in the bar, and came across him opportunistically in the changing room.

I think Vincent witnessed something that will be key.

ClapAlongIfYouLike · 16/12/2014 07:20

Not having re watched any of the episodes, I wonder if anyone ever can tell me if actually any witnesses can place Tony and Ollie and at the pool? What if they passed the pub on the way and Tony said just to go in for a quick one, while Ollie really wanted to go swimming. Ollie may have just run off to the lake (and drowned?) Or be snatched by any opportunist lurking near the pub? Tony may not remember, or prefer to remember that this was what happened, because he was drunk.

AuntieStella · 16/12/2014 07:23

Witnesses in the pool, no. Though we saw them swimming (you mean that's a dram sequence?)

But loads of witnesses entering the bar, thought they were probably paying far more attention to the footie.

OMG I am SO excited about tonight!!

Butterflies and everything Blush

If I had to make a bet it would be Alain.

I really hope Olleh is alive but then in an odd way I'll be disappointed if he is, just because that wouldn't be very realistic and I'd feel like the programme makers were pandering to the likes of me!

EauLittleRougeofBethlehem · 16/12/2014 08:31

I think Alain was a drunk witness, or possibly ran Olleh over while he was drunk driving.

I'm going to say the Romanian gang was involved, and possibly Mark. But really I have no clue Grin

I've watched that station scene over and over again and I can't see any of the other characters, or how anyone would have got from the opposite platform to kill Leon while Baptiste was in the tunnel (unless they went across the tracks). The Romanian gang did it!

AmIthatHot · 16/12/2014 08:39

I'm excited too. Need to be sitting down at 8.55' with gin in hand.

I have no idea who it could be. I hope we're not disappointed

HollyJollyDillydolly · 16/12/2014 08:41

I just hope it reaches a conclusion and it isn't left on a cliff hanger.

LillianGish · 16/12/2014 08:48

Clapalong I like that theory but what is not clear is how true to life the time sequence was in the bar. I thought we were watching in real time in which case Tony only took his eye off Ollie for a couple of seconds to look up at the football. As soon as he realised he was missing he rushed out of the bar. If Ollie had been innocently on his way to the changing rooms surely Tony would have seen him with only that split second delay in giving chase? With the timings as we were shown them Ollie must have been grabbed and hidden away immediately - possibly even within the bar itself. I was puzzled that Tony immediately ran outside and away from the bar. In his situation I think I would have gone to the door and hovered there for a bit longer.

EauLittleRougeofBethlehem · 16/12/2014 09:00

I think the theory that Olleh realised he'd left his scarf in the changing room and ran off to get it is the most plausible reason for him disappearing in that crowd.

12 hours to go!

HoHonutty · 16/12/2014 09:05

Maybe Tony is in AA and it was his sobriety chip.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/12/2014 09:24

Tony needs to be in the aa. Drinks far too much.

Think he ran outside as of the pool and scared he may have fallen in

Tho can I also add its rare for a 5yr to be able to swim and flat the way ollie did

Lovely outdoor pool tho :)

It did get dark really quickly. One minute they were seimming. Then he wants a coke so get out and changed and light

Then walking to pub its twilight /dark and the goal is scored so 10pm ish

Still can't find the clip of 9 missing minutes. Watched 1 and 2 again last night and not here

Can anyone find a clip please

Wondering if the missing mins is important? What was said about it? Was it the fact he didn't call Emily for 9mins or what?

Thank you :)

Vistaverde · 16/12/2014 09:42

I know I have said it before but I am convinced the picture in the basement is much more significant than just being a plot device. I can't believe the cleaner would have just left it there by choice. So either they were disturbed before he could finish cleaning or more likely in my mind it was meant to be found. I just can't work out a plausible theory as to why.

pollythepig · 16/12/2014 09:48

Just watched Ep 7 again, didn't notice it the first time but the song at the end during the credits is heartbreak hotel

LineRunner · 16/12/2014 10:05

Bloody hell, just read the whole thread - I actually started last night and fell asleep at page 22! I appreciate the spoiler policing btw Grin

I don't think I can watch it live tonight. My DD is home from university today and I haven't seen her since September! Might try and catch up at about midnight.

EauLittleRougeofBethlehem · 16/12/2014 10:10

I think the picture in the basement is meant to throw them off the scent. It could have been planted. The original picture was left in the car so it could have been copied.

For the sweepstake-

Greg
Mark

I also think Ziane might have been the guy on the stairs on the basement.

Can not wait until 9pm. It better be a good ending or all hell will break loose on mumsnet.
