orphan you must be kidding. Carabinieri are notoriously DUMB, the dumbest of dumbs. You know the jokes about blondes? In Italian are all about carabinieri!! (In a male version, of course). No-no, BA as Canadian Mountie would be excellent, as a carabiniere would be a complete turn-off.
(Even if...now that I think about it...hmmm, I could volunteer as translator! Now that I look at it under this light...;-)

ilovevenice Id love to be able to do a job like TV PR...unfortunately nothing as interesting as that.

One of my friends best friends (and Ive friends with her on FB) works for a Soap Magazine and she has the most amazing life...unless BA goes into a Soap which would be amazing as we'd potentially get to see him every day there isn't much chance of her interviewing him unfortunately.

Wonder which Soap he'd be tempted to go into...

MY DVDs HAVE ARRIVED!! Wonder if DH will agree to watch the pilot with me tonight - didn't see it last year and really looking forward to seeing it!

orphan, I can make up to you by suggesting places to visit where they'll not rip you off just because of your accent...and I can only recommend next time you shift your attention to fire fighters ("pompieri"). By far much more selective in terms of body shape. Not that I ever set my house on fire just to see them

(Also much nicer uniform than the English fire fighters)

cherin just googled carabinieri and yes, they really are the butt of a lot of jokes aren't they. Liked the one about why do they have a red stripe on their trousers - so that they know where to put their leg.
I think I may stick with BA in combats, although pompieri look like fun...

SPofficer she really is lovely isn't she? I do wonder though how another series would fit in with her EastEnders commitments. I saw an interview with her and it implied that she was only able to film Our Girl because she'd had a long period out of the soap. I didn't even realise she was in it as I don't watch EastEnders.

Thinking of jobs, I wouldn't have minded being a makeup artist on the Our Girl series. I think BA might have needed quite a lot of touching up.

I'm sure the scriptwriters on Eastenders could write Lacey out for a couple of months if they really wanted to make another series of OG. After all they are both BBC productions and other soaps have had to write characters out temporarily or permanently and at short notice for a variety of reasons. I suppose that is the beauty of continuing dramas, everything can change.

I am a newbie at Mumsnet but wanted to say how much I have enjoyed all the comments about Our Girl - especially as no one I know seems to be watching it - so frustrating! I am glad I am not the only one totally hooked on the programme and praying for a second series!

Hi Wycombe. This thread has been a lifeline for me as none of my friends have the CJ fever. Either they didn't watch it, or for some inexplicable reason weren't completely bowled over by him. I haven't therefore divulged my secret passion!

Oh definitely make up girl...in that heat he would have need 'cough' touching up on a regular basis
