Just wondering if I am alone in feeling irrationally annoyed by some of the tv programmes DS loves to watch? Dora makes me want to throw bricks at my telly, similar feelings arise whenever Boj or Everything's Rosie come on. What does it for you?

My entire household HATES Ella Elephant. She's so squeaky smug. Even my baby gets bored and whingy when it's on.

He loves the new Care Bears though, even though it makes me cringe deeply.

Housemum · 23/09/2014 22:10

Thanks a bunch for making me have the bloody Me Too song going round in my head now.

Topsy & Tim are DD3's current fave (why did she have to find the BT-on-demand button!) and I could throttle the chirpy pair.

Just about anything on Disney Channel is pants - Dora's voice is like nails on a chalkboard.

Charlie and Lola - Lola is a prima donna pain in the backside. Charlie appears to be stuck caring for her as the parents can't be bothered with the little brat.

The thing on Channel 5 with 2 characters that live in a clock - they go round arsing things up but it all gets put right by chime-time and no one seems bothered that they've had to put right the mess caused by them.

All of Me Too, Balamory and Grandpa in my pocket. Also, the vegetables in Mr Blooms Nursery. I absolutely hated the pretentious children in the Green Balloon Gang but haven't seen that lately thankfully. Carrie and David's Pop Shop is very annoying.

I miss Doodle Do with the lovely Chris. Sigh.

nosleeptilever · 23/09/2014 22:35

Peppa Pig needs a punch in the face the know it all, condescending wee shite. PP is banned in this house. As is gpa in my pocket. DS hates gpa too and screams when it comes on "Mummy get it off!!!".
We only watch cbeebies at home but while on holiday we were stuck with disney channel (which didn't get turned on much because it was all dire) and subjected to the most horrible programme about some kid with a fart stuck in his stomach. Revolting.

nosleeptilever · 23/09/2014 22:37

Oh god, David and Carrie's pop shop. Shut that woman up.

BellMcEnd · 23/09/2014 22:43

Mike the Knight is a massive bell end

Lola from Charlie and needs a good sorting out from Jo Frost

Granny Murray needs investigating by OFSTED

Big Cook Little Cook need to fuck off to the far side of fuck

Mister Maker needs some sort of rehab

Peppa Pig needs a visit to the V.E.T stuff Dr Brown Dog (maybe literally).

Curious George needs Ritalin

Doc McStuffins - words actually defy me.

I like Ben and Holly though Smile and I really love Justin Fletcher [heart emoticon]

Housemum · 23/09/2014 22:43

Peppa is a little cow (ironic I suppose) and George is whiny - DD3 gets sulky when she doesn't get her own way and all I can think of is that whiny noise that George makes!

I love the fact that DD3 now willingly picks out DVDs to watch (she's 6) - interestingly she no longer bothers with Peppa/Charlie and Lola (though Topsy & Tim on demand are still frequently on) but she will watch Hong Kong Phooey, Mary Mungo & Midge or Willo The Wisp out of choice Grin

BellMcEnd · 23/09/2014 22:43

Oh and Dr Ranj needs a good scrub with hibiscrub and a shave.

Azquilith · 23/09/2014 22:44

Frigging Noddy.
Quite like Thomas (choo choo) though.

MimsyBorogroves · 23/09/2014 22:56

Anything with Mr fucking tumble in it. He gives me the creeps.

yazz21 · 23/09/2014 22:57

I agree with the waybaloo's what the hell even are they anyway? Squiglet I hate with a passion and get so annoyed with it calling the pencil/crayon a squiggle stick. How is that going to help kids learn? Anything with Mr Bloom in. Oh and Chis and Poy definately make me want to just hurl things at the tele!

Flossiex2 · 23/09/2014 22:57

I actually do not get/understand SpongeBob.

What's that Disney show where the girl talks in that weird put-on high-pitched unfunny voice? That's awful.

I get more out of some of the shows than the kids. I used to love balamory and Justin.

Re Topsy and Tim, I said to my dc yesterday, why can't you be like them?

Housemum · 23/09/2014 23:02

"that Disney show with the unfunny voice"? All of them! HATE Austin & Allie with a vengeance, Jessie and the rest

Tauriel1 · 23/09/2014 23:16

Can't stop laughing at the child chucking milk at Mike the knight.

I can't tolerate most of Cbeebies, but Topsy and Tim is especially bad.

Something that always niggles me about Waybaloo is that all the kids seem to have been dressed in the dark. I mean wtf are they wearing and why do half of them look like they've been putbin clothes 2 sizes too small?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/09/2014 23:25

My DD is 12 so her tastes are Disney Teen type shows.
Amongst my most hated are:

Liv and Maddie - the ooh oh oh squeaking

Victorius - Cat gets on my tits , the thick act is OTT

Dog with a Blog (he licks her feet - vom)

A new one 'Girl Meets World ' or something, kids rioting in school, oh how funny

Shake It Up

Ant Farm - cannot abide the way China talks

But my personal unfavourite - Jessie, the little girl Suri. Delivers her rather too grown up lines then looks to camera for the ok, and that girl can scream, it strips paint.

I can just about tolerate Fred with the sound down

And the films:
LemonadeMouth
Teen Beach Movie

Sapat · 23/09/2014 23:35

Dora is so loud
Waybuloo is annoying, as is Upsy Daisy.
Sponge bob used to annoy me but I am starting to see the funny side.

HouseAtreides · 23/09/2014 23:35

I lost my shit at Mr Bloom the other day when he was teaching the little darlings about sea anemones. "Ooh, eeyyy, that's a long word int it?
ANENOME, can we say it? ANENOME"
AAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH. It's like the little kid doing the link who says "On CBeebies and Cbeebies HAITCH-DEE!"
AAAAAAAAGGHHH
If you are tryng to teach, fucking teach them RIGHT

Tauriel1 · 23/09/2014 23:41

Oh gawd, forgot about Dora. DD's Dora dvd got 'lost' when we moved house. The songs have no real tune, just sounds like ' MAP. MAP. MAP'
'BACKPACK. BACKPACK' being shouted if I recall.

FoxSticks · 24/09/2014 07:50

Why is it controversial not to like Justin Fletcher? I thought he was universally hated?

I also can't stand Topsy and Tim, Dora, and Grandpa - what a nasty old man he is, running around teaching lessons/traumatising children he doesn't approve of.

Rusticated · 24/09/2014 09:59

Oh Christ, Dr Ranj, and his creepy quiff and sinister nurse! I was gobsmacked to discover he was an actual paediatrician, not just an irritating children's TV presenter in a white coat hoping to use his stubble and bedroom eyes to crack into a show with an audience of over-5s.

(I don't mind Topsy and Tim that much - it's their whiny, passive-aggressive little friend Tony Welch who makes me want to get out the fly-swatter. He insists on holding that unfortunate rabbit, gets an invisible scratch on the hand, is tended by Joy with a first-aid kit, and then pouts and wants to go home.)

Saker · 24/09/2014 10:39

Have some sympathy for me; Ds2, 13 with special needs still watching half these things so I have had some of it since Ds1 was little 15 years ago!

Most hated: Balamory, Postman Pat Special Delivery (there is a great piece about that here), Big Cook Little Cook, Grandpa in my Pocket, more recent Thomas the tank engine and not too keen on Bob the Builder.

Most favourite Koala Brothers (the Christmas Special is superb and we still watch it altogether as a family every Christmas Eve Grin) and "Deadly 60 Pole to Pole on a Mission Top Ten 360 defenders" with Steve Backshall to keep me sane Wink.

Mellymaymummy · 24/09/2014 14:45

Why has no one mentioned that stupid little b@;/h Tig? Talk to a fucking spider do you? Who has to correct your behaviour because you're such a spoilt sh&t and your parents don't give a fuck?

And the Bus one, where she babysits, Mr Maker needs to make his way to the firing squad, Topsy & Tim, pretentious twats, RASTAMOUSE SERIOUSLY WTF?!!

I swear most of the writers must be on smack.

Thurlow · 24/09/2014 14:55

"I'm the map, I'm the MAP, I'M THE MAP!"

Kill. Me. Now.

sourdrawers · 24/09/2014 15:00

What about big cock little cock? I'd like to make those two fight to the death..
