What happened to The Apprentice this year? It's not been on, has it?

OP posts:

What got me most about the boys is that they were bitching about Stephen for being right - and if they had listened to him, they would have won the task!

Teams need people like Stephen, who will go against the majority, and point out when something might not be the best idea. But it looks like what they actually wanted was a bunch of yes-men.

I was talking to ds3 about this programme last night, and it turns out he has watched a number of series - including the one where they were given a shop on a busy London street, and £2,000 to buy stock - and one lot bought vintage clothing and made a mint, and the others bought Art from an art gallery (er - hello - don't you think they will already have gauged the right price for this item and applied the best mark up?), and ended up with just one item, all on its own, in this big shop - and it didn't even sell! Why did I miss this TV gold?

R4roger · 15/10/2014 08:27

i think stephen was not listened to because he was an irritant to quote the sugar lord

doziedoozie · 15/10/2014 08:33

It's funny how they choose apprentices who have never watched the programme or how else could they NOT HAVE THOUGHT OF A POSSBILE NAME FOR THEIR TEAM??????????

LiviaDruscillaAugusta · 15/10/2014 09:01

Oh my days. Just watched last night's episode - that Sarah is already giving me the rage! Short skirts and makeup?? REALLY??

Looks like the usual haul of bullshitters and shagwits! Grin

BastardGoDarkly · 15/10/2014 10:25

I thought the women were really restrained considering what an utter twat that Sarah was Confused

TSSDNCOP · 15/10/2014 10:37

Agree completely Bastard, I can categorically tell you I'd have been thrown off the show during the car journey back to the shared house.

Having said that shouldn't Cameron Diaz-alike and her crew checked they had the cash to buy the t shirts before jumping into the car?

Maryz not many have names yet! There were 20 contestants, and 20 is a lot of names Mary. That said we did manage twathead Fembot for Sarah, but that was handed to us on a plate.

GilesGirl · 15/10/2014 10:47

I thought they were, also, Bastard and TSSDNCOP. I would have been throwing her under the bus, the train and the car.

doziedoozie · 15/10/2014 12:36

I wish they'd do an oldies version of this, over 50s, the addition of grumpiness, intolerance and 'know-it-all because I've experienced LIFE'ness would make for even worse behaviour imo.

Would be v entertaining.

doziedoozie · 15/10/2014 12:37

But anyone who takes the project manager's job in the first prog is either v brave or v stupid. Give them their due.

limitedperiodonly · 15/10/2014 13:17

It dipped last year with boring contestants but this one looks good.

Who is the bloke with the nice body who was was strolling around in his pants all innocent-like, at the wake up call? I didn't get a close look at his face.

It was Miles last time. I wonder if they put it down on their CVs.

Italiangreyhound · 15/10/2014 16:56

doziedoozie I am not sure many people actually volunteer for that PM role do they? They seem to get shoved into the spot light and then they have a choice of back away and look like a 'coward' or step up and risk a firing!

IneedAwittierNickname · 15/10/2014 17:05

I just saw this picture and it made me think of this thread Confused

limitedperiodonly · 15/10/2014 17:09

Chiles really did deserve the sack because he overruled Steven's two good decisions which were both about the t-shirts.

Firstly Steven wanted to try to sell the potatoes to a place that he knew of nearby because the t-shirts might be ready by the time they'd finished.

And then secondly about turning round and getting them. Chiles made a stupid mistake there and Felipe should have told him to go back. We all make mistakes but when Steven pointed it out, a good manager would take the point and make the decision to go back or at least call Felipe and say: 'We've had a chat about this and I think we should reconsider.'

Steven is annoying, but in honesty, he didn't make the stupid decisions and actually tried to correct them.

James was the only one to stick up for Steven - possibly because he hated Chiles for that northerner comment. I think James is the one with the perfect body - another point in his favour Wink.

If it hadn't been the first week I think Felipe would have gone too for being weak enough to be manipulated by Chiles.

He'd have been wiser to bring Chiles in for the t-shirt fiasco and trying to scapegoat Steven and Scott for hiding.

I don't think Scott did hide but Suralan made that point, and he hates people like that and Felipe should have picked up on it. Just like he managed to pick up too late that Suralan hates scapegoating.

Looking forward to tonight's episode. I'm not like you people who can watch and MN at the same time Sad

Italiangreyhound · 15/10/2014 17:17

I totally agree limitedperiodonly I always get fed up when someone annoying gets blamed for failure of a task.

limitedperiodonly · 15/10/2014 17:18

Italiangreyhound If I was on The Apprentice I just know I'd be manoeuvred into .

They've tinkered with it because it was too predictable so it's no longer like being passed the Black Spot.

limitedperiodonly · 15/10/2014 17:32

Yes italiangreyhound. Felipe gratefully leapt on the idea that a divisive person needs to be culled, but who's more divisive, someone who's annoying, but annoyingly right, or someone who tries to blame others for his mistakes?

I may be too invested in this. And an annoying person Wink

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 15/10/2014 17:36

Chiles lied in the boardroom - and no-one picked him up on it.

When he rang from the car, he told Felipe that he had two options, but that he had already chosen one - to go and sell the potatoes and not go back for the t-shirts. In the boardroom, he told Srallan that he had phoned Felipe and told him that there were two options - I can't remember the exact words, but he was clearly trying to say that he had offered Felipe the two options, and Felipe had either made the choice or endorsed his choice - and that is not what actually happened, is it?

limitedperiodonly · 15/10/2014 17:59

I think you're right SDTG.

Third Person Felipe is obviously easily bamboozled. A fact that should not go unnoticed by the smarter apprentices.

Did you say you never watched this before? You're picking it up quickly.

GilesGirl · 15/10/2014 20:55

Evening.

I am hoping the women have Karren tonight and whatsherface says something equally idiotic about short skirts and make up.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 15/10/2014 20:57

No wine here. Boo.

Did have a cunt of a day though

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 15/10/2014 20:59
