New thread for the US open.

Am hoping to get round to seeing some of it, but in the meantime, I am limbering up my refresh finger. Grin

Thank you raahh. I like Simon since he asked me at Queens if I wanted a picture of us together Grin. Easily bought, that's me.

Raahh · 31/08/2014 18:41

]grin]

The commentators are not holding out much hope that Ferrer will come back- I think they have alluded to back problems. He is being his usual scampering self, but something is lacking.

Simon has a lovely beard.

Good to see Wozniacki ia currently ahead of Shrieky- I hope she wins.

Vamos David!

You are my Nadal substitute.

It isn't looking good. Ferrer serving to save the match.

AnyoneForTARDIS · 31/08/2014 18:51

come on Woza, beat the shriek!

Raahh · 31/08/2014 18:54

Simon serving for the match.

I will be going to bed when the dd2 does i think- I've had headaches on and off for weeks, and today is a pretty bad one.

Ferrer is looking a lot skinnier than usual- usually he seems bulky (in a muscular type way). Maybe it's the camera angles.

There is a hint of Limon on Ferrer's shirt...

Advantage David!

Tennis.

ferrer looks in a lot of pain.

Raahh · 31/08/2014 18:58

Ferrer is in agony- a lesser player would have stalled proceedings and got the trainer out by now.

He wouldn't last another set. Match point Simon

match Simon.

Ferrer is really not well though.

Poor Ferrer, clearly in pain. But hooray for Giles :)

JuanPotatoTwo · 31/08/2014 19:10

You've got to hope he hasn't done himself a lot of damage fighting for that fourth set. He really looked in pain.

raahh you have a lot of headaches, really think you need doc to have proper look at you. Hope you feel better soon.

Raahh · 31/08/2014 19:20

Juan- Thanks I know- I have suffered migraines since I was a child, but these feel more like a permanent hangover. I've had blood tests, nothing ever shows up. I need to get them sorted though- I feel like I've started to fall apart in the years since turning 40! Grin

Anyway, I have knock me out pain killers - so I will see you all tomorrow, hopefully headache free!Grin

JuanPotatoTwo · 31/08/2014 20:30

I think I have that feeling too - the falling apart one:) Could your headaches be diet related? Still think you should pursue it with the docs though.

SuzanneCrazyEyes · 31/08/2014 21:46

Yes, the Shriek has gone!

JuanPotatoTwo · 01/09/2014 00:03

That's good news Suzanne. I see Granollers has taken a set off Roger. Wish I could watch Dom v Feli - it's all level in first set at minute.

JuanPotatoTwo · 01/09/2014 07:19

Dom wins :)

Raahh · 01/09/2014 11:57

Morning!

Feel better today- although the after effects of the meds make me light headed. Juan. Have been pursuing the diet element- wondered if I was dehydrated, but I drink lots of water, and all my tea and coffee is decaf. It's ironic the headaches have been persistent since I stopped drinking 5 months ago- maybe it's trying to tell me I am deficient in vodka? Grin

Some very interesting looking matches today- Tsonga/Murray could be good. A couple of months ago, I would have said Murray easily, but Tsonga has had some good results recently.

Nishikori/Raonic- could be close. I want Raonic to win, just don't get Nishikori.

Kohlschreiber has just avoided a bagel- Djok is not messing about today.

Glad you're feeling slightly better Raahh.
This whole tournament seems to be passing me by, it's just going too fast and at such awkward times.
Would love to see tsonga win later tonight

Raahh · 01/09/2014 18:21

And I am so happy the Shriek has gone. I want Wozniacki to win the tournament,(even though she is one of the Plait wearersGrin) since Halep is out. Am not sure what to think of Bouchard- she's a great player but she is only just this line of the confidence/arrogance line, imo. Plus her parents named her and her sister Beatrice after the Princesses of York. Which is weird Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 01/09/2014 18:23

Hello! Mama

A Tsonga win would be fantastic (not for Murray fans obviouslyGrin). He is having a good run of matches/tournaments, so I think he stands a grear chance.

OP posts:
AnyoneForTARDIS · 01/09/2014 18:26

Ferrer just has that Jimmy Connors 'ill finish this match if it kills me' attitude which is brilliant, others just give up .

im with Woza too, glad she beat the Shriek! weird how her and Rory are playing so well now they've broken up.

yy Bouchards too cocky, shes in the serena modesty camp. Tennis
