New thread for the US open.

Am hoping to get round to seeing some of it, but in the meantime, I am limbering up my refresh finger. Grin

and I like her comment btw.

If Rafa and Ferrer refuse to play DC then it wont say much about them will it?

JuanPotatoTwo · 25/09/2014 19:08

Thank you Raahh, I was rather pleased with him, being a novice knitter and all that :)

Pot ' s birthday yesterday. My invite to the party seems to have been lost in the post ...

JuanPotatoTwo · 25/09/2014 21:04

Gosh, there are some idiotic comments under that article you linked to Tardis. I must admit I've never heard of her but give her a chance and all that. Whoever appointed her obviously thought she was able to do the job - let's at least wait and see.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 26/09/2014 09:57

Never read below the line Juan. It's one of the places that gender equality isn't even a dot on the horizon.

Regardless of the gender issue,it does seem hugely unprofessional for players to come out and criticise the selection of the new coach. Unless you are actively trying not to get picked for the next Davis Cup tie.

AnyoneForTARDIS · 26/09/2014 16:51

thing is if the players don't buck up, the coach gets the stick.

just like in footy, why is it the managers that get sacked when its the players on the pitch not performing?

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 27/09/2014 14:36

Just seen [[http://edition.cnn.com/2014/09/25/sport/the-adventures-of-photoshopped-roger-federer/index.html?sr=sharebar_facebook this] and thought I'd share.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 27/09/2014 14:48

See Judy last night on scd? she was soooo nervous!

I like her. and well done Andy, a final at last.

JuanPotatoTwo · 29/09/2014 13:54

Dogsbollocks, Thiem and Ferrer all out in round one in Tokyo :(

JuanPotatoTwo · 29/09/2014 13:58

Hi Clay, was thinking just the other day hadn't seen you for ages - have you been away? That FB thing is funny - I like the one of Rog wrestling :)

JuanPotatoTwo · 29/09/2014 13:59

Was Judy any good Tardis? Who is she paired up with?

JuanPotatoTwo · 29/09/2014 14:18

Just watching Grigor v Verdasco. Hoping Grigor wins - have gone off Verdasco since his tweet re female coach. Sooo many empty seats ...

JuanPotatoTwo · 29/09/2014 14:21

Grigor winning 5-2. Strange changeover behaviour from Verdasco - sat in one of the linesmens' chairs and didnt bother with a drink or anything. Think he's given up.

JuanPotatoTwo · 29/09/2014 14:47

Has something happened to/with Verdasco? He did seem to be in a grim mood and the commentators at the end of the match said he'd put on a good performance considering the circumstances. But i can't find anything to suggest what may have happened.

JuanPotatoTwo · 29/09/2014 14:49

Oh no! Berdych has put Rafa out. That wasn't meant to happen.

JuanPotatoTwo · 29/09/2014 14:51

Panic over - it was a doubles match :) Phew.

JuanPotatoTwo · 29/09/2014 14:53

I found out what happened to Verdasco - his girlfriend's father passed away this morning :(

Raahh · 29/09/2014 16:27

poor Verdasco- difficult being in public when something like that happens.

Ferrer lost his opener in Tokyo-in danger of not making the cut for London.

It's DD2's 4th birthday today. Our house look like the 'Frozen' section of the Disney store Grin

Aw, happy birthday little Raahh. Are you having a party?

Raahh · 29/09/2014 17:06

No- as she was in nursery this morning, we are just going out for tea- once ds makes it back from his after school club. It's strange, I'm not used to having a child actually in school on their birthday- ds is Dec 29th, and DD1 is mid August. Grin

Oh dear, I see Stan is out in Tokyo. His year isn't ending the way it began is it?

Mama1980 · 30/09/2014 10:05

Hi all Grin
I hope you're dd had a good birthday Raahh?
Rafa back on court in China, wearing a very pretty shade of turquoise Wink he is a break up in the first set at the moment but gasquet is looking good.
Poor Stan :(

Mama1980 · 30/09/2014 10:31

Vamos Rafa! he took The second set 6-0 and looked scarily on form Smile
