Doctor Who Lesbian/beastility references

Sat down last night with my son and daughter to watch the new Doctor Who series.

Was shocked firstly that there is a lesbian couple in the programme who are married. Secondly they are not even both human.

This is way to much for a programme that is watched by a large teenage/children audience.

Lesbian marriage was not not even legal until this year why it needs such a heavy presence in a programme of this nature is totally wrong.

At one point the girl says she loves the lizard, serious beastility references here. As far as I am aware sex between humans and animals is still illegal in the uk. However this girl claims to be married to a lizard of the same sex.

So many things wrong here, I am not anti gay but this has no place on the BBC at any time let alone at prime time and in a show watched by so many under 18 year olds.

Very upset at why a show we all used to watch and love as kids think it needs to go down this road.

Interesting first post, Sandra.

Obviously by interesting I do mean ridiculous, homophobic and provocative.

HesterShaw · 24/08/2014 13:54

I think the OP is trying to have a bit of a laugh. Trying to.

IntheYear2525 · 24/08/2014 13:55

It's probably just as well we don't have visiting aliens, given how many humans are prevented from doing perfectly ordinary things like marrying a person of their own choosing, having control of their fertility, working in a career of their choice and accessing education. All those things limited by relatively minor differences like nationality, gender, race, caste, sexual preference and religion, imagine how a different species would be treated.

HesterShaw · 24/08/2014 13:57

Ah you against Mr Spock too? He was also a product of bestatility. Utterly unsuitable.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 24/08/2014 13:57

Well done OP, you've managed to make Dr Who sound rather appealing. I might just watch it now

MarkWrightsLonelyBraincell · 24/08/2014 13:58

You're obviously on the wind up. But in case you're not.

Good job OP didn't see the earlier episode which showed Jenny's evident relish at the flicker of a long Silurian tongue.

May then there would be real spontaneous combustion, rather than alien raiding of body parts.

HermioneWeasley · 24/08/2014 14:05

Surely she is a Lizbian (ba doom, tish!)

RJnomore · 24/08/2014 14:09

I came on to say star trek but I see I've been beaten to it.

PamBagnallsGotACollage · 24/08/2014 14:15

This absolutely has to be a wind up.

Bestiality! Haha!

The DT episode, Gridlock, must have really pissed you off. Although at least they were straight eh? Hmm

Fubsy · 24/08/2014 14:25

Pam there was a married lesbian couple in Gridlock! And gay servants in the Unicorn and the Wasp (the Agatha Christie one)!

Won't anyone think of the children?

You are having a laugh OP. I might complain to the BBC that my children , raised by two mums, don't like seeing men and women kiss before the watershed. I'm not hetrophobic but.....Wink.

Windup thread!

HesterShaw · 24/08/2014 14:27

I am utterly aghast that I managed to spell "Are" as "Ah" ConfusedShock

ZoeWannaBaker · 24/08/2014 14:29

I'm so sorry you've been disturbed by this, it is shocking.

Is the future, MN AIBU 2040? Grin

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/08/2014 14:35

So Silurians are just humans with scales? Do they have the same genitalia as humans? Could a Silurian and a human produce viable offspring?

FrancesHB · 24/08/2014 14:38

Well I thought it was HOT.

idahobeachhouse · 24/08/2014 14:41

Quite FrancesHB. That's one cute lizard.

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 24/08/2014 14:41

I though the only person who had strong objections to relationships between lizards and apes was David Icke?

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 24/08/2014 14:42

Not if they're both girls. Grin

somewherewest · 24/08/2014 14:44

I think we need a 'AIBU to date a six foot lesbian lizard?' thread.

Seriously, Sandra is pulling the piss.

ShadowStar · 24/08/2014 14:46

Aren't there some varieties of lizard that can produce viable offspring without having had sex at all if there's no boy lizards around?

MavisGrind · 24/08/2014 14:46

"If you're really that set against any of your children ending up in relationships with Silurians (or any other alien race) then move to an area where there aren't any."

I'm disgusted by it, disgusted I tell you. And Peter Capaldi isn't human either, and he was flirting with a dinosaur last night! Shock

I think we should definitely petition to have him removed from the show. He can come and live with me. I'll, er, make sure he sees the error of his ways. Grin

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 24/08/2014 14:51

For the betterment of mankind and possibly lizard kind I am also willing to show Peter Capaldi the error of ways. Is there a sign up sheet?
