Two celebs confirmed so far for the 2014 series:

Frankie from The Saturdays
Judy Murray (Andy's mum)

Not sure if they are deliberately only releasing one name at a time, but it can't be long before the big reveal.

So polish off your Cuban heels and slip into something tight and sparkly, it's almost here!

I don't care if frankie has danced before- she was by far the best. Plus she has short hair so it doesn't flap about all over the place while she was dancing. I hope she continues to improve. Think she will be good at latin.

Redcoats · 28/09/2014 10:09

I think Aliona managed to negotiate herself into this years show when they asked her to step in last year at the last minute. She clearly can't be bothered with Greg.

She needs to take a leaf out of Natalie's book, a masterclass in being excited when you've got a duffer.

awaynboilyurheid · 28/09/2014 10:24

Thought Claudia was hilarious last night with her wee quips, so natural and Tess always looks much more relaxed when Brucie not around and she doesn't have to deal with that huge ego of his.

Agree Aliona is not happy and cannot hide it laughing at the Natalie masterclass comment , but who could blame her Greg is so up himself and with no talent , why did Darcie say he was good he was woeful Also mark wright tearing up probably the first time he's ever had criticism and he really didn't like it, boo hoo!

Not sure about Alison just bit too happy happy which for some reason annoys me keeping my fingers crossed for Judy hope she can relax and move even a little!
I think a big mistake losing Artem to the USA his choreography is second to none and its our loss, they should have given him a big raise in pay to keep him, he was by far the best dancer.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 28/09/2014 10:43

The hair is something I find funny. Sunetra's actually looked like something you might see at a comp (tarted up with some stones perhaps), but so many have it loose.

It would annoy me I think (and I get far too hot). It's a standing joke at dancing that my teacher has never ever seen me with my hair down.

MintyChops · 28/09/2014 10:56

Looks like Greg isn't too impressed with Aliona either.....

Greg link

Icimoi · 28/09/2014 11:05

Aliona tweet:

Rehearsal with @GreggAWallace went from funny to disturbing...trousers split at the back= funny??...Gregg not wearing underwear= disturbing.

OMG.

digerd · 28/09/2014 11:25

OMG indeed. Gregg not wearing underwear when his trousers ripped at the back - more Shock and a yuck face needed in this case.

Good to have ITT back daily Smile with Zoe I hope?

areyoubeingserviced · 28/09/2014 11:25

Isnt it strange how our perceptions of people change.?
I didnt mind Alison before, but i agree that there is something fake about her.
I thought that Judy Murray was a tiger mum; but she is also quite a sweet lady.
Frankie is dull. , but can dance
Thom is nice to look at ; but is dull
Conversation between him and Kelly Brook must have been really exciting.
Simon annoys me for some reason( but looks great)
Think Natalie is lovely and i hope that she stays in.
Tess is still rubbish, but not as rubbish as before.
Dont understand why Aliona is back,
Miss Artem

Behoove · 28/09/2014 11:31

I miss Artem. Always guaranteed to be emotional and teary at least once in the series.

MintyChops · 28/09/2014 12:45

Yay, Monkseal

Behoove · 28/09/2014 13:42

Thanks for that link minty Grin

R4roger · 28/09/2014 13:44

is there a monkseal from last night?

OnlyLovers · 28/09/2014 13:53

I thoroughly enjoyed Alison and am looking forward to seeing Aljaz have fun; he was so serious with Abbey last time.
Gregg and Aliona are enough to give a person nightmares.
Frankie is good but dull.
Thom is boring beyond belief and not even attractive IMO.
Mark was quite likeable.
I thought simon was much less good than everyone else seems to.
Can't remember anyone else.
LOVED Claudia. What a scream. I think she called Tess Snuggles at one point. Grin

R4roger · 28/09/2014 14:11

did anyone else catch Claudia's comments to Thom and his partner about kissing Grin and about how she wanted to be bridesmaid Grin... they looked extremely po about it, though I believe they have been pictured, shock horror, holding hands Shock

ThursdayLast · 28/09/2014 15:12

Thanks minty I enjoyed that

Redcoats · 28/09/2014 16:48

Polkadots - interesting comment on the hair issue. Whenever I've watched competition videos (admittedly not often), the hair is always scraped back really tightly. I've always thought it would be massively annoying having your hair all over your face. Plus you'd be whacking your partner in the face with it everytime you turnd round. Mind you, this is not exactly serious competition.

Miss Artem and Robin.

Philoslothy · 28/09/2014 17:03

What does monkseal mean by HO?

Titsalinabumsquash · 28/09/2014 17:32

I watching Strictly for the first time this year, I'm not a Bruce fan so I thought I'd give it a whirl now he's gone, plus I'm a little bit in love with Claudia and Darcey B!

I was hoping that Scott would pull something out the bag but alas, he's a bit crap, I think he'll stay in purely because of his massive R1 fanbase.

I was trying not to like Mark (hate the concept of TOWIE et al) but he was entertaining.

I expected Judy to be good but she really wasn't, I also can't get over how much she looks like Andy had just popped some lippy on Grin

I thought Zoe from Casualty was good, I wonder if Dr Ash gave her some tips from when he was on it?

Really thought Greg's partner had a terrible attitude, she couldn't dislike him more if she tried!

Thom just oozes dullness, he's not my type in the looks dept either, he had a very unimpressed face when CW was talking weddings Grin

Frankie was great but I'd like to see her tempo it up a bit next week.

EvilRingahBitch · 28/09/2014 17:55

"HO" is the bit in the opening music where someone sings "HO!" Watch carefully and you'll spot it. Monkseal has a long running and admittedly rather childish joke of guessing who's going to be the unlucky celeb stuck with the "HO".

MintyChops · 28/09/2014 18:22

Only a summary so far roger but will keep checking for the full review.....

Rivercam · 28/09/2014 19:38

Caught up with Strictly whilst ironing earlier.

The judges comments seem a bit contradictory to me. I thought that Max's feet were a bit laboured, but no one picked up on that. However, Mark, was a real surprise and did really well, and was criticised.

Also, Alison, (I love her bubbly nature) who performed well, but did hardly any dancing got complimented on her dancing. Judy had negative comments as well, but I thought she and Anton did a striking dance, although nothing complicated.

I missed Greg - may have to rewind the programme to see it after all the above comments about aliona.

Steve - phwoah! And did quite well. I was expecting him to be a disappointment and was relieved he did okay - nothing spectacular but not bad for the first dance.

cleanmachine · 28/09/2014 19:46

I miss artem too. And flavia. And darren and lillia too. Cant take to the newbies.

heebiegeebie · 28/09/2014 20:28

I thought it was quite funny that Kevin and Joanne from Grimsby ended up top and bottom of the leaderboard.

Hasn't Kevin said before that his sister is the world champion and he's the black sheep of the family? Quite funny from a sibling rivalry point of view.

I like both Kevin and Joanne btw.

FrankelandFilly · 28/09/2014 20:37

From what my dance teacher told me, Kevin was a junior champion but wasn't good enough to cut it as an adult pro, hence why he ended up doing West End work.

OP posts:
PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 28/09/2014 22:20

Yep, he never competed outside amateur.

It's quite funny hearing her being referred to as "Kevin's sister" - my dance teacher referred to him for most of last year as "Joanne Clifton's brother" Grin
