Child Genius (C4)

Anyone planning to watch this?

I was a little like these children; joined Mensa as a child, but used my ability to coast through school/university rather than to achieve anything noteworthy.

DS2 is also of this ilk. We are not doing any of the things these parents are doing, although when opportunities arise through school then obviously we let him participate.

Eek

Notagenius · 27/07/2014 21:03

Dd has heard that before

Sparklingbrook · 27/07/2014 21:05

Has it been a week already since the last one? Shock

fledermaus · 27/07/2014 21:06

I like Eleanor so far.

Notagenius · 27/07/2014 21:07

Lol. I love it.

SauvignonBlanche · 27/07/2014 21:07

Eleanor is interesting, her parents seem fairly sane.

Notagenius · 27/07/2014 21:07

This is so her.

MissWimpyDimple · 27/07/2014 21:08

Notagenius I assume it's Eleanor you know!?

Notagenius · 27/07/2014 21:08

And dd hates 1D too!!

Sparklingbrook · 27/07/2014 21:09

Um, what is all this going on with Curtis? Confused

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 27/07/2014 21:10

Eleanor is lovely. I think she will go far in academia

SauvignonBlanche · 27/07/2014 21:10

"Mummy, I'm scared" Sad

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 27/07/2014 21:10

Curtis' mum is deluded.

ImperialBlether · 27/07/2014 21:10

I couldn't stand Eleanor and her self-important voice.

Sparklingbrook · 27/07/2014 21:11

was he eating a bowl of soup in the back of the car? Confused

Notagenius · 27/07/2014 21:11

My own dd is very clever but she always thought herself as unintelligent. Now I know why. She's always been I. Her shadow.

ImperialBlether · 27/07/2014 21:11

And Eleanor's mother, despite teaching English at university, clearly didn't know what 'disinterested' means.

Mondaybaby · 27/07/2014 21:11

"No you're not" !!!!!Sad

Notagenius · 27/07/2014 21:12

It's just the way she speaks. She sounds very posh (think she has family members down south)

jonicomelately · 27/07/2014 21:14

I'd have to get Eleanor's hair cut into a decent style if I was her mum.

MissWimpyDimple · 27/07/2014 21:14

No I couldn't cope with the voice either Confused

SauvignonBlanche · 27/07/2014 21:14

I couldn't believe that either Imperial Shock

Notagenius · 27/07/2014 21:16

She chose the haircut herself just before she left junior school. It used to be very different but she wanted it shorter. She has a unique sense if style shall we say, no interest in fashion whatsoever!.

TheFirstOfHerName · 27/07/2014 21:18

Weekly appraisals! Shock

Criticising the voice and hairstyle of a child, just because she's on TV, seems a bit off.
