Here. At one point Quinn appears to be either hugging or killing Salieri - apart from that it tells you very little. But still - Homeland!!!

I reckon (based on nothing except slowly building hype and last year's timings) that we're looking at late September/early October. Can we cope in a world without Brody?

She was in the mental hospital on a mission.
To trick someone only I forgot who they were.
Remember the lawyer who came to talk to her.

ihatethecold · 13/10/2014 06:48

I agree. It's quite implausible that carrie would be chief.
She's got a baby by a known terrorist and mental health issues.

Roonerspism · 13/10/2014 06:54

Why do they walk around looking so American? Wouldn't you even attempt to fit in if you were wandering the streets if Islamabad?

Great first episode, though.

Lweji · 13/10/2014 06:59

she's the biggest liability in the CIA- consistently
you might think. But no.
Episode 2.
And I'll say no more.

coffeeinbed · 13/10/2014 07:01

I'm not picking but wasn't the car they were in at the end considerably les broken than when they were leaving the scene?
Also Carrie had more blood on her cheek when they drove off.

coffeeinbed · 13/10/2014 07:02

I am mitt picking.

Lweji · 13/10/2014 07:31

Or even nit picking? Wink

coffeeinbed · 13/10/2014 08:07

Can't deny it...
Grin
bloody AC.

TheSpottedZebra · 13/10/2014 09:54

What, Lweji - have you watched ahead?

TheSpottedZebra · 13/10/2014 10:04

Right, Quinn. What's his job? Previously he was 'a guy who kills bad guys' so he was special ops. Now what is he? Was he in the normal CIA in Islamabad, or was he doing secret squirrel things there do we know?
And what's with the constant agonising, asking carrie that thing about ticking off names? Is this series going to show him being consumed by doubt?

OneSkinnyChip · 13/10/2014 10:40

I am so tempted to watch ahead - but I won't. I like watching it with you lot :o

ihatethecold · 13/10/2014 10:52

I didn't really enjoy last nights one.
I was really looking forward to it as well.
Sad

Lweji · 13/10/2014 13:54

I watched episode 2 right after 1 on my TV (Portugal). Last week.

HalleLouja · 13/10/2014 14:29

Quinn is still disturbed about that little boy dying at the start of series 3 I think. Hence the doubt.

DiaDuit · 13/10/2014 15:50

Oh lewji! You big tease! Grin

Cocolepew · 13/10/2014 18:04

Shouldn't the cars be armoured?

DiaDuit · 13/10/2014 18:53

quinn seems to be carrie's bodyguard/ driver now. That's pretty much all he did last season and appears to be all he is doing so far this season.

GypsyFloss · 13/10/2014 19:54

Quinn seems to have a lot of angst for someone whose job is killing.

DiaDuit · 13/10/2014 20:03

I reckon there is more to be revealed about quinn.

GypsyFloss · 13/10/2014 20:29

He reminds of the Colin Farrell character in "In Bruges" who was consumed by his accidental shooting of a young boy , whilst shooting a priest! Considerably less sweating though Grin

ThursdayLast · 13/10/2014 21:24

Saul = good! His wife = gonna be gone soon.

Echo Dia AS IF they would make someone as fricking unreliable as Carrie a station chief.

I really enjoyed that, much better without Brodie now.

guineapiglet · 13/10/2014 22:13

Hi again Homelanders...just caught up.... Very full on episode, an hour passed very quickly.. Strangely better without the possibly undeaded Brodie and his family but I wonder if magic Mike will put in an appearance again.
Also wondering if broadcasting this at such a delicate time (re all the dreadful be headings and rise of IS ) might be inflammatory as watching innocent civilians being murdered by the US is quite hard to bear.....

Still majorly loving Quinn though..
Grin

RudeBarbandCustard · 16/10/2014 23:10

Massive Homeland fan here. My thoughts:

I too think Brody is not dead. We didn't see him die...

Thought this episode was a bit slow, but ok. The Pakistani boy's storyline was a bit cheesey. Glad someone identified him as Pi.. it was bugging me.

Carrie - lose the grey trouser suits. NOT flattering.

Also, agree how ridiculous that she insists on strutting the streets of Kabul in said grey trouser suit, head uncovered, just for the hell of it.

And how does she find good wine?

She has apparently chosen career over her baby then, and her Sis apparently disapproving. Not surprising.

But my overall and most important comment on episode 1. Quinn seems to have put on weight, losing the hotness. Come on Quinn, we're relying on you to bring the gorgeousness!

Onedropoflove · 18/10/2014 16:31

Well, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I really hated the last season. I'm going to give part two a go and then decide.

runlikeagirl · 18/10/2014 18:20

As someone who has mental health issues (Bipolar) one of things I love about Homeland is the very unusual, but refreshing portrayal of someone with mental health problems in a job with authority. Maybe she wouldn't be chief, but if she's stable and taking meds why not?

I'm still a bit confused, can't remember what happened at end of last series. The car scene left me open mouthed though.
