Here. At one point Quinn appears to be either hugging or killing Salieri - apart from that it tells you very little. But still - Homeland!!!

I reckon (based on nothing except slowly building hype and last year's timings) that we're looking at late September/early October. Can we cope in a world without Brody?

Lweji · 18/11/2014 20:52

Shouldn't we be calling Carrie Juliet, and Brody Major Winters, then? Just me?

And Saul will forever be Gideon from Criminal Minds. Or, even better, Inigo Montoya.

Hassled · 18/11/2014 21:01

Saul will always be Rube (Dead Like Me) to me.

We definitely do have Zaf. I read an interview with him and it looks like his part gets bigger. swoons

Howaboutthisone · 18/11/2014 22:47

I also wonder if Fara will be next. She keeps wandering into situations and is really just an accountant!

RudeBarbandCustard · 18/11/2014 22:57

NO WAY I DIDNT KNOW THAT SAUL WAS INIGO MONTOYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock

I'm totally stunned. That's so weird, I was thinking about Inigo Montoya just the other day, wondering whatever became of him!!

I always thought that Mandy Patinkin was Jewish though, (ok just checked, he is), but Inigo Montoya was so... Spanish!

I'll never be able to look at him the same way again. I loved The Princess Bride.

I loved Claire Danes as Juliet, but just can't equate that little girl with Carrie. For starters she had brown hair Smile. Pi on the other hand wasn't that long ago, and he looks very similar to how he did in that film.

Chandon · 19/11/2014 17:34

I feel cheated that she did not take the shot, Saul is just a civilian now. What was the reason to not send in the drone? It was silly.

Carrie is doing a bad job in this one.

The previous series looked like she was losing the plot, but it was all part of a bigger game.

I feel now, halfway through season 4 that that whole build up with Pi was unnecessary.

Back to square one. Now what?!

I also don't understand why the uncle shot the nephew.

So he knew a drone bomb was pointing at him, would he not have been better off simply not showing up? Why did the nephew have to be killed? I don't understand why he was shot.

CoolCadbury · 19/11/2014 18:23

chandon Saul is her father figure and he is ex-head of CIA.

As far as the nephew, he led the CIA straight to his uncle. He is a traitor, albeit unknowingly, and his uncle would never forgive this. Of course, he had to be the one who shot his nephew - otherwise Carrie and co would have never known about Saul.

Plus, there was no way they would have got the bad uncle half way through the series. Where's the drama in that?

Chandon · 19/11/2014 18:25

I understand why she did not do it. But if she can't take a decision like that she is not in the right job.

hmpf

CoolCadbury · 19/11/2014 18:27

TBF, she did want to do it didn't she? Quinn stopped her.

ThursdayLast · 19/11/2014 18:32

chandon I think the very suspicion of Carrie being in the right job has been wiped many seasons before this Grin. The woman's a fricking liability!

Don't forget about the old director getting blown up too. That'd be TWO CIA directors done for with her name linked.

BingoBonkers · 19/11/2014 18:34

Be interesting to see where the story takes us next. Probably to Carrie on a booze and meds bender which ends with her in bed with some random.

YonicScrewdriver · 19/11/2014 18:47

I don't know what protocol would be about acceptable collateral damage to a US citizen in bombing the uncle...

Lweji · 19/11/2014 19:35

[ Message from MNHQ. The following post could be perceived as containing spoilers. (Though we don't really know what's what. Just thought we'd warn you! ]

The uncle allowed part of his family to be killed by drones at the wedding so that he was declared death. He is not particularly nice.
He also had to show his own people what happens to traitors.

Funny scene in the next episode when he goes on about Christians and their values, and then Saul tells him he's jewish. Surely he'd know, or ISI. Or did they need for former Desperate Househusband find that out?

We shall see who Carrie ends up with in the next episode, btw. Random? or not random? Grin Don't miss it.

CoolCadbury · 19/11/2014 22:45

lweji Sad why?

RudeBarbandCustard · 19/11/2014 23:13

No, no, nooooooo. I really don't want any spoilers. I'll have to leave the thread Sad

lweji you promised!

Lweji · 19/11/2014 23:17

It's not a spoiler. Just something to keep you wondering. Like a trailer.

Lweji · 19/11/2014 23:18

Oh, the wedding comment is about the first episode and the jewish thing is of no consequence.

YonicScrewdriver · 20/11/2014 00:28

I lost track of the train of events - when Pi first called uncle for help, had dodgy DH passed over the photos showing pi linked to CIA (assume ISI has a leak To uncle)

Uncle wouldn't know Pi was being duped.

Howaboutthisone · 20/11/2014 03:20

Even though predicable, I thought the last episode was great. I did start working it out as it went along but I still think it was a clever piecing together of things.

And I really want to watch each episode of this series with no prior hints of any kind please. Then to come here and discuss and share thoughts on where its going next. I think the problem is that when someone hasn't seen the episode they will come up with theories. When someone has and voices a theory, we all wonder if its based on some extra knowledge. Please no mention of future episodes on the thread - its a slippery slope!

Howaboutthisone · 20/11/2014 03:22

I think the sleep deprivation might well have led to an overreacting post there. SorryBlush

I enjoy your thoughts on the show lweji! Just please no mention of future events.

Off to try to get some sleep at least....

Roonerspism · 20/11/2014 04:35

lweji!! Oi!! Behave :) please no more spoilers. The very fact you mention a conversation takes place between those two means you have already clarified a number of things for me about next episode... Please no more! I am very sad but Homeland is my Sunday treat and I love discussing it only after...

Chandon · 20/11/2014 07:53

Lweji, you are annoying me (and others) with your spoilers.

It must feel nice to be ahead of us in the UK, but really?

Can you instead discuss it with local people where you live, who are on the same schedule?

This is a fab fun thread, I am enjoying the conversation, but it now needs a "hide poster" button which does not exist!

HalleLouja · 20/11/2014 08:57

I have reported the message and not read it as I saw there was a spoiler.

deadwitchproject · 20/11/2014 09:04

Yonic I assumed that the info had been passed on by the Pakistani spy woman. In the café with ambassador's moron husband, she said she couldn't stay as she needed to let some people know the info, so a quick phone call would've sealed Pi's fate.

YonicScrewdriver · 20/11/2014 09:20

Did she do that before the call to uncle from the bus stop?
