Here. At one point Quinn appears to be either hugging or killing Salieri - apart from that it tells you very little. But still - Homeland!!!

I reckon (based on nothing except slowly building hype and last year's timings) that we're looking at late September/early October. Can we cope in a world without Brody?

I'm two episodes ahead part of the week. Only one till next Thursday. :)
I should join an american forum instead.

Lweji · 09/11/2014 22:42

I think the tears were for Brody.

Me too.

Catsarebastards · 09/11/2014 22:46

Cats, a head scarf is not mandatory in Islamabad

Oh yes i know that, i meant for carrie specifically with her very noticeable hair and face that has been on TV/newpapers/internet. She is too careless with regards to being seen. There are people watching the embassy for her leaving all the time, she knows this but walks around as if he hasnt a care in the world.

Hassled · 09/11/2014 22:46

Zebra - I'm assuming you've put yourself in the naughty corner? And if hats and/or scarves feature next week I will hunt you down.

I can't imagine Homeland is going to do much for US-Pakistani relations. Even the airport security guy who appeared to take Saul's cash to let his bag go through (is that what happened?) - it's not making me want to go anywhere via Islamabad airport.

Naughty step?
Mate, I'm going to the naughty safe house now. You scary! ! Grin

Lweji · 09/11/2014 22:49

They don't Hassled. :)

Hassled · 09/11/2014 22:49

Although Google tells me Islamabad Airport is officially the worst in the world - it has over-taken Manila in levels of badness. Maybe security men taking a bung is nothing.

Good episode when I finally got to see it.

oneowlgirl · 10/11/2014 00:01

I still can't make up my mind if this is a good series or not ?? Confused

ihatethecold · 10/11/2014 07:00

I think it's a bit frustrating

  1. I can only hear 60% of what's being said.
  2. It's ridiculous what some characters are doing.
Carrie- breezing about,Shagging to recruit

Saul- being a bit thick at the airport.

Ambassadors husband would be spotted going into carrie's office late at night half cut.

Pi bloke. As if he would spill the beans that quickly!

I can't take it very seriously.
I used to be gripped to series 1 and 2.

ladeedad · 10/11/2014 08:08

Saul was bloody stupid to get kidnapped like that. Perhaps he did it deliberately so he could see the inner workings of the Taliban for himself? Nah.

Lweji · 10/11/2014 08:44

The problem now IMO is that there isn't a strong conducting line.
The first three were all about Brody. Is he, isn't he, will he, won't he, did he?

Not sure what the point is now apart from following Carrie's antics. Which is fine, but it's like a number of other spy series.

There isn't even the line of whether Brody survived. I'd stick though to find out.

As for Saul who knows. The plot of Carrie pretending to go mad was twisted enough.
And they've put enough surprising twists in episode 6.

Maybe there's hope. :)

oneowlgirl · 10/11/2014 09:10

You're right Lweji, there isn't an underlying story now that keeps us in suspense & moving things forward.
[Glad Dana isn't on screen anymore though!]

guineapiglet · 10/11/2014 09:17

I agree it's lost it's main focus without Brody and the basic 'love story ' between him and Carrie so is now in essence a spy/thriller thing.
Is it realistic? Does this stuff, kidnapping, bribery, murder and corruption requiring endless vigilance really go on?Yes! But it feels very close to the bone viz recent US/Pakistan activity so like others am amazed some of it is broadcast....

Now feel we are going to get a Quinn/Fara hook up? Quinn was really pissed off with Carrie....
Lucky FAra I say!!Grin

HalleLouja · 10/11/2014 10:31

Guinea lucky Quinn. Fara is hot.

Nancy66 · 10/11/2014 11:32

who was the bloke at the airport - was that the dead uncle who's not dead? I lost track.

werenotreallyhere · 10/11/2014 11:55

I thought the bloke was the guy whose apartment Quinn broke into and then legged it when he got a code on his mobile?

Nancy66 · 10/11/2014 12:08

yes - it was, well done.

Lweji · 10/11/2014 14:36

And the one who seems to have orchestrated the death of the previous section head...

deadwitchproject · 10/11/2014 14:50

I just want to shake the stupid out of Carrie. I want to shake the stupid out of Saul too (after the airport fiasco). I want to be kissed by Quinn all over say well done to Quinn.

Travelledtheworld · 10/11/2014 17:26

Yes, I am sort of losing it too. They could run a story line on corruption in the CIA easily enough just to keep us all focused.

How about the Horrible CIA director back in Washington ? How is he keeping his job ?

Hassled · 10/11/2014 17:27

But is tall pony-tailed orchestrator of the Sandy mob-violence/occupier of apartment Quinn was staking/airport man (we really must give him a name) also an ISA bloke? Or is he Taliban?

I see what you mean about the loss of a narrative now that the Brody thing has been resolved, but actually I don't think I care. I'm happy with Homeland as a standard spy thriller type show.

Is the sight of Saul bound and gagged in the back of a cleric's Skoda (was it a Skoda?) enough to persuade the doubters of his goodness?

OP posts:
Travelledtheworld · 10/11/2014 17:29

We haven't seen the "not dead but poorly" Uncle have we ?
and who is bad Ponytail guy who orchestrated Sauls kidnapping ( and the murder of the Section Head ? ).

Travelledtheworld · 10/11/2014 17:30

Ooops Hassled posted at the same time !
