I love this programme. I can even not hate Davina. I do love a good sob though.

Yes,completely,I felt that. I said it must take someone very special or unusual to not feel angry.

Maybe as times ticks on the anger does kick in. When the dust has settled and people hear more and the stars drop from their eyes.

I sob every week at this programme but some stories are just a plain crap parent that's cleared off never giving a thought to the child left behind. I am sure not every story has a happy long lasting ending.

What a caring wonderful husband to be that lady had.

I have a 'missing' brother, 5 years in February and the trailer to this new series had me sobbing every time. The grey haired lady was sat down and Divina said "your brother has been found" and that was me a sobbing mess. I hope I don't get to her age before my brother is found. Sad

Icelollycraving · 25/07/2014 18:24

Sorry to hear about your brother :(
I can't remember one where they didn't find them. Maybe they have them but don't show them.

Ann and Colin. Smile but there should be a smiley for sobbing hysterically at the very least.

Had a lump in my throat. Had to catch up in stages and just watched their story. They seem complete now, the mums face was just one of happiness. I have given up pretending I am not crying now as how could anyone not. I am so glad things are different nowadays. Lovely ending for them.

hellymelly · 25/07/2014 20:21

Apparently 9 out of 10 don't work out, at least that is what I think I read in an article about Davina (Observer maybe?) They can't trace the person, or they don't want to be found or contacted. The ones on the show are the ones that have worked out.

SportsMixtureSweets · 25/07/2014 21:10

Oh that is sad hellymelly

I have a feeling my DB will be one that does not want to be found. It makes my anxiety hit the roof just thinking about it. We were so close, it makes me feel really weird and panicky that I might not see him again.

hellymelly · 25/07/2014 23:50

I am sorry to hear about your brother Sportsmix. I hope you find him, I can't imagine not knowing where my brother was, it must be hell for you and your family. Did you see the programme in the last series where the women wanted to find their sister? She was so happy to be reunited with her siblings. She had gone off the rails a bit after their mother had died, and then felt so guilty at being out of touch that she couldn't make the move to try and find her sisters again.
Have you contacted the programme?

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 28/07/2014 21:32

Interesting one this week, a 'recruit' for the US being forbidden from contacting his DD... why is he agreeing to go on TV????Shock

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 28/07/2014 21:59

Aw that's lovely - finding your dad, then your parents reunite as a result! Smile

Realitybitesyourbum · 28/07/2014 22:01

Aaaah, how sweet! the parents are going to marry!

FruVikingessOla · 28/07/2014 22:05

But, hang on a minute. They said the Iranian guy had a wife and family in America? So what happened to them? I'm confused.

OhGoveUckYourself · 28/07/2014 22:09

Didn't he say he had lost his wife 3 years ago?

FruVikingessOla · 29/07/2014 08:07

Ah, sorry, I missed that bit.

clux73 · 29/07/2014 16:28

I'm not entirely sure I believed the being recruited by the government bit. And he had obviously been retired for a while so why hadn't he contacted her.

Icelollycraving · 29/07/2014 23:19

I didn't enjoy this one as much,I didn't cry!
I thought the American guy was talking absolute bs.

BackforGood · 29/07/2014 23:42

No, I was a bit Hmm when I watched it.

He may well have been 'recruited by the US Gvmnt' at the time, and I'm prepared to believe couldn't contact her then, but what about in the 25 years since then ? I bet there was a LOT of editing about why he hasn't tried to contact her in even the last 15 or 20 yrs. Thought it very strange he claimed he loved her so much but never, ever wrote and let her know he was still alive.

Rivercam · 03/08/2014 08:15

Maybe he felt he couldn't, or met his future wife, or maybe life got in the way. He kept all the photos. I felt pleased for Tanya that her dad wasn't dead.

PurpleKittyKnitting · 03/08/2014 08:44

I love this show too, didn't believe the American bloke!

I would find it hard to forgive if I had been put up for adoption and then other children were born. I know someone that found out he was adopted about 5 years ago when he was in his mid 40's, via fb! He would never have been told by his adopted mum, all to save a bit of male pride!

Anyone remember one from a few series ago where the young girl had been kicked out and her dad refused permission for her to have a section? Baby adopted, her dad passed away and then during the show her mum wanted her engagement ring to be given to the now grown up daughter.

Everyone thought 'oh, that's lovely' but I thought it was horrible, the ring from the person that didn't care if his own daughter lived or died

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 04/08/2014 21:24

I started blubbing in the 1st 5 mins - that poor woman. She has endured such pain. Her mother was just heartless.

sailorsgal · 04/08/2014 21:30

what a lovely story tonight!
They are meeting at the hotel du vin on Poole Quay.

Kimaroo · 04/08/2014 21:32

Can't stop blubbing and we're only half way through!

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 04/08/2014 21:33

And now we see if she finds her dad. Where's my hankies...

YoHoHoandabottleofWine · 04/08/2014 21:35

I'm a bit behind as paused. But how amazing that both mother and daughter said the exact same thing when they saw the photo of the other one for the first time: 'she looks kind'

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 04/08/2014 21:41

Aw he seems lovely tooSmile

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 04/08/2014 21:47

Bloody hell I'm nearly drowning in snot n tears Grin this is a good 'un!
