Isn't it just Balamory but moved to a slightly different situation?
Weird

i saw the trailer and thought just that. dd watched it but said she didn;t know what it was about so i'll have a try. just looked like a brighter balamory to me though.

Tommy · 04/09/2006 21:34

a more annoying Balamory (if that's possible)

nulnulcat · 04/09/2006 22:17

i remember reading somewhere that balamory was being axed perhaps this is what is replacing it but i wouldnt like to be the person to tell my dd no more miss hooley and josie jump!

bobsmum · 04/09/2006 22:18

But it's Isa from Still Game!!!!

bobsmum · 04/09/2006 22:19

Also starring Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill. Mr Hemphill just happens to be married to Julie Wilson Nimmo who just happens to be Miss Hoolie. There are only 3 actors in Scotland

saltire · 05/09/2006 08:04

It is Isa, she doesn't look any different, i keep expecting Naveed to appear and ask the bairns if they want some sweeties (or a fruit shoot)

Flamesparrow · 05/09/2006 08:13

I caught the end of it the other day (glanced walking through) and thought it WAS Balamory until I heard different music...

mum2sam · 11/09/2006 15:24

my god ds loves this programme but it is driving me made the songs are ridiculous and so so annoying

SportacusWorshipper · 12/09/2006 21:34

My DS loves it too - what worrying is that I'm going around humming the songs... in fact there's one in my head now!!!

CountTo10 · 12/09/2006 21:38

Have watched it once.....never again. Balamory has been axed so I would think it is the poor relation. Still bbc don't seem to mind repeating everything on a loop so I'm sure Balamory will be around for years to come

SportacusWorshipper · 12/09/2006 21:46

I bet it's the 'Miss Hoolie - Plummie' thing that you can't resist!?

ilovecaboose · 12/09/2006 21:51

I hate this programme with a pure and furious passion. Granny Murray is creepier than Susie Sweet.

And also turns out ds has just learnt to say 'Balamory' and so yells that at the telly in the hope it will turn into that I think.

Dear god can someone please murder Granny Murray for being smug, creepy and just unbelievably annoying.

alex8 · 13/09/2006 09:10

my son loves it. Much more than Balamory, I think its cos of the trains. Its funny that in Balamory and this the focus is child care situations. No Sahms anywhere its all work work work. Surely the single mother cleaning buses overnight would hardly earn enough to pay for overnight childcare? And the taxi driver worked for only 1 hour yesterday! Is she married to/with the the buffet man? I have to stop over analysing kids tv shows

Tutter · 13/09/2006 09:15

agree granny murray v creepy

Cappuccino · 13/09/2006 09:19

Granny Murray also looks younger than me

alex8 · 13/09/2006 09:19

my friends sister was a granny at 36. She has odd stretched tight skin.

BUNNY75 · 13/09/2006 13:49

this is by far the creepiest and wierdest kids show i've seen in ages.....what the hell is it meant to be about???? lets make all our kids think that mummys and daddys are absolute idiots getting into loads of ridiculous situations all day long while they have a serene day at the childminders!!!! and would you trust that Murray woman?!

drdad · 13/09/2006 22:25

Total geographical confusion. That doctor went to work in a hospital in Manchester, where patients arrived in an ambulance that was seen speeding round Edinburgh castle, while the Notting Hill carnival went on outside. Eh?

Tommy · 13/09/2006 22:38

glad it's not just me then

Gingeme · 13/09/2006 22:47

Ive seen this programme twice and think its poop!My ds loves it and shouts at erm Dee is it? The bus cleaner ? Sorry but I wouldnt trust my ds at Granny Murrays either far too creepy. And doesnt the teacher look suspiciously like pc plumb!!!!

yorkshirepud · 14/09/2006 10:22

I agree with all of the above (or below). When I was pregnant Balamory used to make me cry because it was sooooo beautiful. Bring back Balamory. Do you think Archie and Josie would have got off with eachother? I think she would be so good for him.

CarolinaMoon · 14/09/2006 10:26

the geography is utterly weird. They've painted the Gherkin garish colours and planted it in Gateshead for some reason.

And 'Granny' Murray is surely in her 30s (ok, I know some grandmas are, but a bit odd for a kids' TV prog surely?)

ilovecaboose · 14/09/2006 10:34

Archie and Josie hmmm I never thought about that one.

Miss Hoolie and PC PLum definately, though I think she was 2 timing him with Spencer.

Gingeme I wouldn't leave my ds with Granny Murray either!

Watching it again this morning and working out what annoys me so much about it.

1)Granny Murray being some kind of god who offers (trite imo) advice that 'saves the day' while overacting with her face so much that I want to scream

2)All the adults being imbeciles, I know in Balamory they weren't that bright but still they weren't that bad ('cept susie sweet-but she was just one character)

3)UNrealisticness of the programme - Balamory always tried to be realistic to a certain degree. People would be in a bad mood, or break something, or hurt themselves/be ill or generally do something they weren't supposed to, and of course all resolved in the end. But Granny Murray must be a robot!

BRING BACK BALAMORY AND DON'T TRY TO PALM US OFF WITH THIS SHIT.

bunny75 · 14/09/2006 10:35

yorkshirepud....I agree, Balamory is annoying, but nowhere near as bad as this thing....so yes, bring it back! Archie and Josie may as well have copped off.....Hoolie and Plummy...Spencer and ???? Susie???? now there's a stomach churning thought for this time of the morning!!
