Isn't it just Balamory but moved to a slightly different situation?
Weird

pmsl ilovecaboose. Bloody Claude..! THe childcatcher from Chitty CHitty Bang Bang must be lurking around somewhere. Now, he WAS scary!

FredBassett · 10/10/2006 22:49

I still hate it, I thought it might grow on me like the other programmes have but this is absolute shite - I leave the room now or turn it off if DS isn't looking!

justamindlesszombiemum · 11/10/2006 22:37

ds loves "me too" and I can't get that bloody "on my way to work today" song out of my head & DS keeps saying "hello honeypie" to all and sundry. To my shame I didn't realise that Rudy was blind and kept thinking "god that man is an awful actor, he can't even look at the camera" then the penny dropped

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 11/10/2006 22:43

DS (2.3) really doesn't like Me Too, or to be more specific, is scared witless by Granny Murray.

At the beginning when she says "Hello HoneyPie" he looks really petrified and says "Me no HoneyPie!" and I have to turn it off.

MrsSpoon · 11/10/2006 22:46

My DS2 absolutely loves this, calls it "honeypie". I can't get over how young Granny Murray looks! Also wanted to ask any Glasgow MNetters what the big rocket thing (IIRC it was near the SECC on the film) that they have covered in harlequin stuff is?

tutu100 · 11/10/2006 22:47

my son liked me too for a few weeks but has gone off it now thank god. He actually turns the tv of when it comes on. unfortunately they seem to show it everytime he eats a meal. (i'm a bad parent i let him eat watching the tv) and as a result seems to not be eating so well! Are you sure they've axed Balamory? I think the idea to campaign to bring back balamory is a good one.

2nervesleft · 11/10/2006 22:54

Surely it was Archie and Plummie??

housemum · 11/10/2006 23:07

I'm not sure about Edie McCredie myself - think she may drive on both sides of the road if you get my drift...

bubble99 · 11/10/2006 23:09

I hate it.

If the f*wits need to be reminded every day how to get to work, should they really be in charge of children/dogs to deposit at 'Granny Murray's?'

alexsCURSEDMUMMY · 11/10/2006 23:22

pmsl at this thread. dh has just told me that he was working to a deadline in work today and actually said to one of his colleagues " it's a race against time!" in a cod scottish accent ! the guy didn't hav ekids and had to have it explained{blush]
made me laugh so much.

the woman cleaning the buses- how much does she get paid that she can afford overnight child care? surely she'd be better of on benefits?

and how many childminders take dogs?????

MacdogOnElmStreet · 11/10/2006 23:27

Harlequin building not in Glasgow.
think it's 'Gherkin' in London. Riverseafingal messes with geography something chronic!!

MrsSpoon · 11/10/2006 23:31

Thanks Macdog, the whole issue became so urgent I started a thread all of its own for it and the responses all concur. Now that is weird, why do they want to go putting bits of London into Glasgow?

sliderule · 11/10/2006 23:36

I need to go to bed but I am oing to have Granny Murray dreams now cheers - I find the mixed up geography very distracting but I think i prefer it too balamory tbh - I mean I wouldn't feel very safe in a town being policed by pc plum and Miss Hoolie was scary looking - the veg man isn't blind but has a squint I thought

MacdogOnElmStreet · 11/10/2006 23:37

geography not the strong point.
Tina the taxi driver left her offspring with the evil Murray(i think in Edinburgh??), then proceeded to walk to work in Glasgow via Newcastle(?) or Manchester(?)
Gives me a sore head first thing in the morning!!!
dh been on holiday this week, and i've forced him to watch it!!!

CristinaTheAstonishing · 11/10/2006 23:38

So glad to read the city isn't a real one as I really couldn't place it.

MacdogOnElmStreet · 11/10/2006 23:40

Rudi carries white stick.
Tina the taxi driver is a bit insensitive to this and left him with a shopping list one day.
Subtlety not her strong point!!

CristinaTheAstonishing · 11/10/2006 23:41

Why do they all dress so brightly? And they are all so happy too?

MacdogOnElmStreet · 11/10/2006 23:43

Rudi sells 'special' herbs on his veggie stall????

MrsSpoon · 11/10/2006 23:44

"Tina the taxi driver left her offspring with the evil Murray(i think in Edinburgh??), then proceeded to walk to work in Glasgow via Newcastle(?) or Manchester(?)" - Ah now you see I've never actually paid that much attention to it.

MacdogOnElmStreet · 11/10/2006 23:48

It's only obvious if you recognise the locations.
dh + i happen to know Glasgow well, and a bit of Edinburgh.
They mix landmarks from several cities.
Don't watch, it'll give you a sore head!!

bubble99 · 11/10/2006 23:54

And why does Granny Murray 'air-kiss/fake hug' everyone who drops a child/dog/potted plant off at her home to child-mind? Most of the actors obviously can't stand each other... and it shows.

And why is she called 'Granny Murray?'

Round these here parts she looks the age of most first-time mothers.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 11/10/2006 23:58

Tina looks more like a granny.

In today's episode Lisa went to pre-school. So does GM take her to pre-school with 3 other kids in tow? Good childminder if she does so. Is she a childminder or just a granny? I didn't follow the series from the beginning.

2nervesleft · 12/10/2006 13:22

am resurrecting this as have seen the most bizarre episode ever. Today on the train with the man who dresses like Oscar Wilde (Ray?) there was a female musician who talked as though she was drunk and trying to seduce Oscar (you'd have to be) and a lady singer who was obviously only paid to sing so had to act only with expression for the rest of the time. Has PC plum really got anything to do with this??? Surely the police pay can't be that bad. He is his own boss after all.

Joanie · 12/10/2006 13:25

DD & DS seem to like this although both hated Balamory. I hate it, its just baaad isnt it. Its a sad reflection of our work obsessed times that all the scenarios revolve around work and racing against time. These people definately need a chill pill. (And turn the colour down too while they're at it).

Unfortunately even though I avoid watching it, I can't avoid DS muttering 'which way is wong, which way is wight?' whilst shrugging his shoulders around the house. Sigh.

nulnulcat · 12/10/2006 14:01

they are all even odder looking than balamory people! and the teacher bloke and miss hooley ( just realised they both play teachers) have real children i really dread to think what they might look like!
