Celebrity Big Brother: Thread 8 - Are there any depravities we haven't witnessed?

Can we take any more? Will we make it to the end? The beginning seems so long ago. Anyone remember anything Lionel said in the house apart from "Suck my dick"?

I thought about cancelling the eye-bleach order after Lee went, but I see we still need it with Dappy in the house. Send for the tankers!

Oohhhh! I see!

Wow! His wife and daughter are both gorgeous! Loved that his wife put the ironed shirts near Luisa! Sense of humour too!
Sorry, exclamation mark overload there

RedPencils · 27/01/2014 21:40

Lee was in the toilet.

areyoubeingserviced · 27/01/2014 21:41

Agree Anne

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/01/2014 21:41

They still could have had a crowd, though. In the past there has been secret evictions with the crowd all having to stay quiet. I think they deliberately didn't have a crowd because it was going to be so bad for Lee.

Ha! That's so funny Luisa!

He's gone dressed like that?

Piscivorus · 27/01/2014 21:42

Wessex As an oldie can I point out that when Jim began his career, that was the norm for comedy and times were very different, that humour was not considered anything but funny. He is just doing what he is famous for.

TortillasAndChocolate · 27/01/2014 21:43

Luisas just made me laugh. 'Its like fucking narnia'

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/01/2014 21:43

Yes, it was the norm. My parents took me to see him in the pantomime when I can only have been 5 or 6. They thought he was hilarious.

Jim was huge in his day.

PeanutPatty · 27/01/2014 21:45

No way! You reckon? Surely the bigger the audience the better for Lee's eviction? He still came across as a dick.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/01/2014 21:46

Somewhere I have a signed photo of him with his catchphrase "nick-nick" on it. Black and white photo, 70s clothes.

Haha, just read the non-love for my friend. Seriously, I'm thinking of phasing her out. We've been friends for years but this isn't on.

newestbridearound · 27/01/2014 21:46

What exactly happened to put a dampener on Jim's career? Was it a specific event or did his brand of humour just become unacceptable by modern standards?

Chipstick10 · 27/01/2014 21:47

Think the latter newest.

Piscivorus · 27/01/2014 21:47

As I've said before Anne, if you come to Blackpool, you can still see numerous comics like that but worse and they all play to packed audiences. Mumsnet is NOT representative of large parts of society in the UK today.
I went on a hen do recently and these shows were in full fling Saturday afternoon and evening. I felt like I'd slipped into a parallel universe. "Fucking Narnia" would have been preferable!

FlyAwayToMalibu · 27/01/2014 21:47

Jim makes me sick. He's fooled everyone!

wessex · 27/01/2014 21:49

I am an oldie too and I know that's what he's famous for (and seaside postcard humour was a comedy staple) before "alternative" comedy became mainstream. in fact I can't believe Jethro is still doing a routine based entirely on knob gags.

I would love to think it's all just an act and that he's not a sexist and does think that you can have an intelligent conversation with a woman etc.

I just sometimes think he crosses a line that shouldn't be crossed if he's trying to get back in favour with the public.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/01/2014 21:49

I don't doubt you are right, Pisc. I worked in pubs in my early 20s and that humour was definitely prevalent.

Shiiiiiiiiit

areyoubeingserviced · 27/01/2014 21:51

Jim trying to make out he's a fucking Liberal
He really wants to win

wessex · 27/01/2014 21:51

I wish Dappy would put "it" away too

Piscivorus · 27/01/2014 21:52

Well that was interesting. Luisa turning on Linda! I wonder if that is calculated as she sees Jim's popularity

Chipstick10 · 27/01/2014 21:52

I'm sick of dappy s knob

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/01/2014 21:52

Sam speaks! Shock

OP posts:
TortillasAndChocolate · 27/01/2014 21:52

Oh no, Jim is growing on me. He needs to do something wankerish to stop this happening.
