This promoting of the idea that SS want to steal babies makes me very uneasy...

It is very difficult to get sectioned - ss had to get a court order for a secure unit because mh wouldn't section my dd (they did later on).
I had to beg sw to get involved with my dd but once they did they've been brilliant- the whole baby snatcher bollocks annoys me greatly.

The mother is a patient, compulsorily detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 suffering from a significant mental disorder which is psychotic in nature. It is accepted by Mr Lock QC, whom I have appointed to represent her as her litigation friend, that she does lack capacity within the terms of section 2(1) of the Mental Capacity Act.

care orders are up something like 60% since baby P. Does that mean parents have become much more violent? Unlikely. So attitudes have changed. Therein lies the problem.

Oh, ffs, do show us where we have said that. As I and others have repeatedly pointed out, of course we accept that. What we don't necessarily accept that they are happening in the numbers you claim, not least because whenever we ask for evidence you slide away from the question. And you will no doubt now do so yet again.

Therefore - either you accept she was seriously unwell and psychotic OR you have to argue that ALL her doctors were lying and/or incompetent and that the Judge went along with it, her own QC went along with it.

And if you argue the latter then tell me WHY they did this.

What was in it for them?

Because this wasn't a little blue eyed baby was it? She is half Senagalese. So I assume the BNP won't be taking up this case any time soon.

@spero - Ive read that doc. I am not denying she was mentally ill. Im asking if the police over stepped the mark when called - she was on her way home remember. If you do not know what she was actually doing then there is no point linking pdfs we have all read and that do not include the answer to my question

A baby dies and SS act to try to stop it happening again (after a torrent of scaremongering press and media attacks, again) and you think that is 'a problem'?

Italian SS stole her other children though, doesnt that mean you would advise her, if she came to you for help, to flee Italy? Why do you want her child returned to Italy, but the one that is in Spain to stay in Spain?

If you have read the judgments you will know that the police spoke to her mother who expressed great concern that her daughter had once again failed to take her medication.

so the police are in it as well? Do they have a special baby snatching number to ring when they find mentally ill pregnant women at airports?

Wizard, the Italian lady's own mother was sufficiently concerned about her to give the police the background facts, including the fact that she had been forcibly admitted to hospital in Italy more than once when she had stopped taking her medication - as she had on this occasion. It also came out that her older child had been traumatised by seeing her when in the grip of a manic episode. Her father agreed that she was not capable of looking after her children because of her illness and the fact that she regularly went off medication.

The psychiatrist treating her was extremely reputable, and I would suggest he is much, much better qualified to judge whether she needed to be sectioned than you are.

I know the child is half senegalese. Those of us quick enough got all the pics from her facebook account which was taken down.

I don't know what she was doing at the time the police spoke to her mother. But whatever it was, it worried them enough to want to speak to her family. the judgments referred to her previous bizarre behaviour that had 'terrorised' her older children.

So why does it matter that you don't know each and every horrible little detail about how she was demonstrating she was psychotic?

Are you seriously arguing that you doubt she was sectioned appropriately? That all the doctors, police judges are in on this?

She was in the grip of a manic episode leading a qualified psychiatrist to section her. There is no way any airline would have let her on their plane.
