MsNobodyAgain · 07/01/2014 20:57

This is a thread for all fans of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm. All welcome, newbies, lurkers and regulars.

Quick New Year Resolutions:

  • Mrs T will wear her flirty wig more often.
  • Heston will develop a deep and lasting love for a woman in a flirty wig whose name begins with W.
  • Howard will pursue his fishing interest so we see him in fishing gear and getting wet at every opportunity.
  • 6tl will resolve to burn her shit blouses and perish in the fire.

I am sure you can all think of more.

Let the WTF commence! Grin

My dh likes to play spot the patient.

cinnamongreyhound · 25/01/2014 15:51

My dh loves it when he's home. It's his birthday Monday so he'll be watching with me. He does think discussing it while watching is weird though!

tilliebob · 25/01/2014 16:13

Oh my DH professes to hate the programme, but he knows all the characters and notices when the titles change. When Jack back recently he asked if Immy was there/ had been there too.....WinkWink

toldmywrath · 25/01/2014 17:52

Tilliebob what a lovely idea for your name, dogs become part of our families don't they? Sorry that they've gone. Thanks
Why people pretend that they don't watch this quality programme is beyond me!

leezl · 25/01/2014 17:57

I binge on iplayer on my days off!!
And when Jizz was being stalked my DH used to ring me up asking what was happening! He loves it when he's off work and gets to watch it with me, though he requires a "previously on Doctors" update beforehand

leezl · 25/01/2014 17:57

I should just point him here.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 25/01/2014 18:24

I have a cat called Tilly Smile.

Raahh · 25/01/2014 20:18

I had a house rabbit called Brian. I miss BrianSad

Just thought I'd add that there. Grin

toldmywrath · 25/01/2014 20:22
Smile Wee sleekit cowrin' timrous beastie.. Because of my Scottish dad we had to listen to him recite Burns poetry when younger - I like it now I'm older (only know a few bits off by heart though)
toldmywrath · 25/01/2014 20:23

Was his wife called Brian as well Raahh ? Poor Brian. I loved my rabbit we had when growing up, a right character & I wept buckets when he died.

Raahh · 25/01/2014 20:24
Smile

I like this wee chap.

letsgotostonehenge · 25/01/2014 20:25

I like rob Grin

I would have loved 2 rabbits called Brian. Sadly, my house could only cope with one eating all the wiring and nearly setting fire to my living room. I replaced about 6 phones when I had him.

tilliebob · 25/01/2014 20:30

This is deffo my thread. I have had lots of rabbits, the last my beautiful Harry boy, and I am celebrating Burns Day today, being Scottish and all that.

I have come homeGrinGrin

I ended up having one of my first rabbits pts, after the other one basically broke it's back. They were both meant to be girls- we discovered (a dead litter later) that they weren't and separated them. 3 years of separated bliss later, they were left out together by accident overnight. Jelly, the male, was a bit randy after all that time.

Poor Blancmange. Sad

cinnamongreyhound · 25/01/2014 21:13

Arran is in casualty, it's busy with doctors actors at the moment!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 25/01/2014 21:27

I haven't watched it for about 15 years. Basically since I discovered ER, which made it look a bit lightweight. by that logic I have no idea how I ended up watching Doctors.

Raahh · 25/01/2014 21:46
Grin

Doctors is like the polar opposite of ER, isn't it? Although, come to think of it, they used to treat a lot of family members in ER.
ER was great. I also loved St Elsewhere- which had a WTF finale that makes Doctors look saneGrin

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 25/01/2014 21:53

Doctors, lightweight? Shock How dare you. It's a high quality, gritty, realistic TV drama thank you very much.

curlyclaz13 · 25/01/2014 21:55

I have to admit ER is my favourite tv programme, I was so pleased to find series 1 being repeated on pick but that has ended and no sign if series 2 and I am back at work full time in under 6 weeks Sad it was the one series I hoped to watch while off. Oh well at least I have had doctors to keep me amused !

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 25/01/2014 21:56

ok, just switched on Casualty. Can't believe Charlie is still in it. Just spotted John Stape from Corrie.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 25/01/2014 21:59

oh, it's finished. Never mind.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/01/2014 22:45

Oh St Elsewhere was fabulous! But the ending was the WTF of WTFness. It will never be matched.

OodlesofOodles · 26/01/2014 07:58

Charlie leaves casualty every so often but always returns.
Loved ER, best bit was the helicopter #2.
Did anyone watch Shortland street ? Was my sixth form viewing so 95-97 , NZ soap at lunch times.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 26/01/2014 08:22

Never seen Shortland Street or St Elsewhere, started watching Neighbours as a student but haven't stuck with it. ER is my all time favourite series, but I have to disagree about helicopter no 2, would have been fine if helicopter no 1 hadn't already happened. So many brilliant episodes.
