This is a thread for all fans of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm. All welcome, newbies, lurkers and regulars.

Quick New Year Resolutions:

  • Mrs T will wear her flirty wig more often.
  • Heston will develop a deep and lasting love for a woman in a flirty wig whose name begins with W.
  • Howard will pursue his fishing interest so we see him in fishing gear and getting wet at every opportunity.
  • 6tl will resolve to burn her shit blouses and perish in the fire.

I am sure you can all think of more.

Let the WTF commence! Grin

Do you go to any toddler groups? Ask around if anyone recommends anyone. I see a few CMs and there's a few I wouldn't touch and some that I like.

MrsReiver · 22/01/2014 09:15

I'm a childminder too. But I'm on maternity leave at the mo.

cinnamongreyhound · 22/01/2014 09:26

Sounds good MrsReiver, I took 3 weeks with ds2, was a hard 6 months and I was inspected when he was 5 months old Grin

curlyclaz13 · 22/01/2014 09:57

All the people I talk to at baby group are still on ml ot sahm so no experience with cm. I am struggling to find anyone with vacancies at the moment too. Oh well we will see how today goes when ds wakes up !

AnneEyhtMeyer · 22/01/2014 10:11

Yes, but the mums who go to baby groups regularly will be able to tell you which childminders are attentive to their charges and which ignore them as soon as they go through the door while they drink coffee and chat to their friends.

cinnamongreyhound · 22/01/2014 10:15

You could also ask at your local children's centre? I have a good relationship with mine and they will contact me for respite type care at short notice, although they can't specifically recommend one cm over another.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 22/01/2014 10:54

Maybe try the next stage up from baby group? I think a lot of people with a toddler as well as a baby (and therefore more info about things like CMs) skip the baby groups partly because they don't need so much reassurance and partly because toddlers are too disruptive for baby groups. Probably the same for the CMs themselves, they would be at groups for older DCs rather than young babies. I mainly went to one aimed at 6 months upwards with DC2 because I could take both DCs.

curlyclaz13 · 22/01/2014 13:34

She was really nice, gave all info before I asked pretty much. Played a bit with Oscar but her son was being clingy. I am at the children's centre tomorrow so will ask there for advice and if they know of any others with vacancies.
