Who are your favourite TV mums?

Has anyone tried to put together a list of their top 10 TV mums? I can't think of any that I really like to watch at the moment.

In my teens I loved Roseanne. Specifically the line "I like having PMT, it's the only time I get to be myself". Grin

She wasn't a good Mum though I must admit.

The problem is that most of these mums are in programmes that have finished, I haven't seen anyone recently that I like as much as Lorelai or Lois.

I like the mum in Malcolm in the Middle.

I think I'm most like the mum in charlie brown, just a droning voice in the background.

Ooh, and I also like the mum in Hebburn. The Estate Agent. She's cool.

YY to Lois from Malcolm in the Middle.

Also Roseanne. She might not have always made the right decisions, but I loved her relationship with her wee boy, DJ. You could tell they really connected in real life.

My all time favourite is Sophia from the Golden Girls. She reminds me so much of my mum: doesn't mince her words (more's the pity) and tells long-winded, fanciful tales to educate you. Her daughter Dorothy's response is one that goes through my head whenever my mum dispenses her wisdom: "Ma, that never happened." Grin
