Want to come and drool over Detective Pookie with me?

And moan about the fact they seem to have forgotten that Hershel was a vet, poor Violet. We hardly knew ye Sad

...for now Grin

I really enjoyed that and I'm impressed that they stayed true to Judith's fate in the comic, didn't think US network TV would have the nerve to do so.

Disappointed that Michonne didn't follow through on her promise to slice The Guv in two, though and that the showdown between Daryl & Rick wasn't actually that much of a showdown.

I think the best bit was Daryl vs. A Tank, closely followed by Tyreese having his life saved by a 9-year old.

aliciaflorrick · 02/12/2013 21:41

I've just watched it and feel drained. What a brilliantly horrible episode, Herschel and Judith how sad.

If Carl wasn't a crazed psychopath before he's gone over the edge now.

Brilliant that the kids saved Tyreese, but they left Judith, that was so awful.

I'm emotionally drained. Back on the road again, only this time they're separated.

anonacfr · 02/12/2013 22:03

The babyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!

I am in shock.

anonacfr · 02/12/2013 22:03

I wanted the Governor to be eaten alive the fucking cunt.

NigellasGuest · 02/12/2013 22:04

Does anyone have a link to watch this last episode? The website linked to upthread doesn't let me watch anymore Sad

MrsBertMacklin · 02/12/2013 22:10

OOOH! I've just had a brainwave...

Just looked at the scene where Rick and Carl find the car seat.

The straps are undone. Walkers wouldn't be arsed with taking the baby out, so... did someone manage to take her and the blood is just spatter from someone/thing else?

laraeo · 02/12/2013 22:42

MrsBert, I thought exactly the same thing re: Judith & the straps. A walker would have just noshed on her in place. I have a glimmer of hope for her.

ToffeeWhirl · 02/12/2013 23:41

Maybe the straps weren't done up in the first place though? I hope she's alive, but why would there be all that blood if she had been saved? That was a horrible scene. I hate the fact that the children are responsible for her death because they left her. That tall girl is a bloody liability and would be down at the post-apocalyptic CAMHS in no time (well, she'd have to join the queue... Wink).

Did anyone else notice the close up of the zombie woman right at the end? For a moment I thought it was Lori.

Hershel was so obviously a goner in that final scene Sad.

BumsyClugger · 03/12/2013 00:31

Judith must have been strapped in. The way those kids were swinging that car seat around when they were carrying it, she'd have fallen out if they weren't done up, surely?

Maybe the blood was just splatter from everyone and everything getting shot all over the place? Or the person that saved her was covered in it? < clutches at straws >

I have hope for the baby. I think my poor brain would explode if I didn't.

The Hershel bit did me in completely. He reminds me of my dad really badly, so I don't think that helped. That, and the 2 day hangover I'm nursing Grin

BlousyMumsyTwat · 03/12/2013 05:00

I knew Hershal was for it when he kept smiling in that "wise old man" way.

I too have a false glimmer of hope for Judith - but it seems unlikely.

The lady zombie at the end - was it the Irish girl from the woods?

I'm very interested in how they're all going to meet up again in Feb, but it is an interesting development because all this sitting around the prison is dull, it's much more fun when they're on the road.

Meid · 03/12/2013 06:37

My DH is convinced Judith is alive. I see no other explanation. Gosh I cried. Sad but true!

And Hershel - agree with BlousyMumsyTwat his fate was sealed with the wise old man smile!

I wondered about the zombie lady at the end too - they seemed to focus on her a bit too long.

When does it return? Why do they even have a break?.

And when is Carol coming back?

She can be forgiven now because it was the children she taught that saved Tyreese.

I'm wondering if they have a 'meeting point' anywhere in case they had to flee the prison.

moreyear · 03/12/2013 08:17

The last zombie was definitely the Irish girl.

I hope, hope poor wee Judith is alive - I had the same thoughts about the car seat and the straps and thought when Tyreese told the children they had to get on the bus and they took off in the wrong direction that maybe they were going to get her? (From a secret, hidden, very safe place.) You can run much faster holding a baby than trying to carry a carseat.

I mean, would even children just abandon a baby in a wide open space in the middle of a zombie apocalypse/battle zone?

moreyear · 03/12/2013 08:29

And Darryl definitely needs to trim his hair in homage to Carol before the second half of the series starts.

ToffeeWhirl · 03/12/2013 09:47

Oh, the zombie was the Irish girl. Thanks, moreyear. That was bugging me.

I mean, would children just abandon a baby in a wide open space in the middle of a zombie apocalypse/battle zone?

Yep, I think they would. I think they were so distracted by the girl telling them what to do that they simply forgot the baby - and probably thought she was safe enough inside the prison fences anyway. They didn't have the foresight that the adults had.

I don't think Carol will be forgiven for teaching the children to shoot and thereby saving Tyreese's life because, by doing so, they left the baby to be eaten alive. Which rather backs up the argument that they shouldn't be allowed to decide when to use guns, I think. They should have done as they were told and got on that bus!

I thought Carol was going to come back, see the governor outside the prison and do something to help those inside at the last minute. That might have redeemed her in Rick's eyes, I think.

I wonder if they will meet her on the road in the next half of the series?

The character who plays Hershel said he knew he was a goner when he started getting more lines!

50shadesofknackered · 03/12/2013 09:52

That was a horrible episode, brilliant, but horrible! Poor little Judith! I am consoling myself with the idea that the straps were undone so the kids and Tyresse? Tyrell? Can't remember his name, went back for her after they saved him. Now I've got to wait till bloody February! Why do they do that? Bloody bastards!!!!
Who thinks Darryl and Beth will get together? BITCH

50shadesofknackered · 03/12/2013 09:58

Weren't there 4 children when that girl said they should fight? 2 carrying Judith and another couple milling about? I think there were only 2 of them them when they shot the two from the other camp. Maybe the others were with Judith??

I thought the zombie at the end was the Irish woman as well!

BumsyClugger · 03/12/2013 10:06

Oh yes, I recognise the Irish/zombie lady's jacket now!

But but but.... The children ran back into the prison when Tyreese said they needed to get out. To get the baby?

Oh, I had a thought, those girls saved Tyreese because of what Carol taught them, thus making it less likely he will kill her if she does return. If those kids saved the baby as well, because of Carols teaching, she will be a bit redeemed in Ricks eyes too. I think it will come back to her somehow anyway.

I knew Hershel was in for it when he started doing more preachy speeches. I have been waiting for it all this series.

And when the Guv took Hershel and Michonne it was blindingly obvious one of them was going to die, and as they haven't explained why Michonne was crying holding the baby, or gone into her back story at all, it couldn't have been her.

When Hershel did that wise smile and tiny nod to Rick I was shouting at my iPad "He's not taking the sword away!! He needs room to swing it!!"

BumsyClugger · 03/12/2013 10:11

Oh 50shades, you might be on to something. I think there were more kids when they came out with the carseat. I'm going to have to watch the end again now so I can convince myself Judith is alive.

Tallaween · 03/12/2013 10:42

Judith was definitely strapped in when the kids were running with her and the straps were definitely unstrapped when Rick and Carl found the seat. I'm anal I checked

Could jus be a continuity error but I am hoping Michonne has her - and that poor horse ffs.

I think it was important that Tyrese was never told about Carol. I reckon he and the children will run in to her before they get back to the group.

With Herschel Sad Sad dead, only Rick, Daryl and Carol know it was her.

I also think the younger sister from Woodbury mk2 will end up with the main cast.

OP posts:
aliciaflorrick · 03/12/2013 11:08

Both the sisters are alive though aren't they? The younger one was traumatised when the first grenade exploded and just wandered off, and the older one has found her balls now that her daughter is dead and she's killed the Governor.

I reckon she's going to be the new Carol, starts off weak and timid and then becomes a killing force to be reckoned with.

Also when Tyreese told the children they had to get out of there, they ran off and he said something about it being the wrong direction to the bus, so maybe they were off to find secretly stashed Baby Judith and the two younger kids they were caring for.

Poor, poor Hershel. I can't understand why the governor killed him though, it's Michonne he hated, why didn't he use the opportunity to take her out with her own sword.

I'm obviously very traumatised by this.

moreyear · 03/12/2013 11:49

It was very traumatic aliciaflorrick I have spent the evening scouring the internet for proof BabyJudith isn't dead.

The best I could find is she isn't included on the in memoriam reel on Talking Dead.

comicbook.com/blog/2013/12/01/talking-dead-omits-key-death-from-in-memoriam-reel/

laraeo · 03/12/2013 12:31

No, the older of the two sisters is dead - from Woodbury m2. Not sure where the younger went.

Any ideas who drove the bus away? It could have been Glenn but he looked in pretty bad shape. Or the younger sister.

I think all the blood on Judith's car seat was from the fighting & unbuckling her straps.

What about Daryl's motorcycle? How's he gonna get around?

Roll on, February....

NigellasGuest · 03/12/2013 12:54

anyone got a link so i can watch it please? Thanks
seriescravings says video not available, despite the fact that it let me watch all the rest of season 4!

50shadesofknackered · 03/12/2013 13:11

I thought both the sisters were alive Xmas Confused Their was a woman on the bus helping them on, probably she drove off? God! It's soooooooo long till February!
