Oh man.

Man oh man.

I think this is shaping up to be a great season.

Just got round to watching episode 2, it's brilliant and even I was cringing at the boy zombie munching on the guy's insides - so not as evolved as I thought. Although had a tear in my eye at the poor little piggies.

Carol is turning out to be just a fantastic character, she was so weak at the beginning and now she's just this amazingly strong person. I'd watch just the Daryl and Carol show, no characters on WD have the chemistry that those two have. The bond between them is great.

I think it's Carl burning the bodies, that kid is a head case.

I can't imagine why anybody would be feeding the zombies, surely if you have a safe haven you don't put it in jeopardy, that's why I think it's either the kids or possibly someone from the Governor's colony with a false sense of loyalty.

Whoever it is, it's hotting up to be a great series.

Finally watched in UK

Poor piggies :( I think rick burnt the bodies - and gotta do what a mans gotta do

Think M must be a mum - she really didn't want to hold baby

What did carol do to girls dead dad with a knife? Looked like she slashes his ear - why didn't she use something diff to go through his head like they kill the others

ToffeeWhirl · 27/10/2013 07:55

She stabbed him through the head, Blonde, like they have to.

Didn't occur to me that Rick burnt the bodies. I don't think it's him, but I have no idea who did it.

I love Carol, she's brilliant. I think she and Daryl are just friends - I hope so, it's so rare to see good male/female friends on telly. I often think about the two of them getting the giggles last season when they were trying to rouse Glen and Maggie from the guard tower and Glen yelled "we're coming!" Makes me laugh every time.

I wondered if the flu victims burned themselves - probably mad but I'm not sure they have easy access to other weapons, would be the best way to ensure you could kill yourself without zombify ing if you couldn't shoot yourself in the head.

Just didn't look like she stabbed in head that's all

Someone dragged those bodies out - a child wouldn't be able to - so sev think an adult

She stabbed him through the ear straight in the brain- clean and efficient.

ToffeeWhirl · 27/10/2013 08:37

I think she stabbed him through the ear, Blonde.

There was a trail of blood from the cells where the flu victims were, so somebody must have killed them first, then dragged them outside to set fire to them. I think Carl would have been strong enough to do that, but don't think it's him, somehow. Have no idea who though.

That woman in the woods the other week - I thought she was an evolved zombie. She looked exactly like a zombie, so it was confusing to find that she wasn't.

Oh. Gotcha. Normally they do between the eyes

I think it just has to be in the brain - doesn't matter which way you get there!

anonacfr · 27/10/2013 10:23

It looks like Carol has developed a clinical user friendly way of eliminating walkers pre turn and that is what she has been teaching the kids.

Report
ToffeeWhirl · 27/10/2013 11:06

Yes, I agree, anon. She doesn't want other children to be as vulnerable as her own daughter was.

An interesting perspective in this (VERY SPOILERY IF YOU'VE NOT WATCHED S04E03) article about whether Carl is actually a sociopath, or just adapting to his surroundings. www.wired.com/underwire/2013/10/walking-dead-recap-isolation/

I quite liked this episode - I loved that impassable wall of walkers - and I love it when Michonne and Daryl go out to "get supplies".

I don't like the implication that the newbies aren't that great at fighting - er, they survived the best part of a year until they met you. I don't think they were at Bloomingdales!

laraeo · 28/10/2013 17:53

I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about Bob. I get the feeling he could have been hanging out at Bloomingdales!

I actually think that the folk from Woodbury are 'soft' compared to the original group.

From what we saw most people in Woodbury were living, as much as possible, as if the ZA had passed them by. With The Governor and his minions doing the protecting and supply runs. They were even happy to have walkers brought in for entertainment. So while I'm sure they have seen some awful things they weren't fighting for survival like Rick and co. Couple that with the fact that the people who made it to the prison were mostly the old and very young, I wouldn't be relying on them too much.

I am Shock after episode 3. And also desperately trying to come up with a reason why it might not be true. It's so out of character.

And Carls bloody hat is back Hmm

Bob's very interesting in the comic and I'm trusting that they've not cast Lawrence Gilliard Jr. to just do nothing with him, he's a great actor.

YY^ to newbies being rubbish. The Woodbury lot perhaps, but Tyreese and Sasha scrapped through to be the last survivors of their group.

I don't know that it is out of character! Not for the way she's developed, anyway. She's become very utilitarian, I think she thought it was worth doing to contain it and save everyone else. Hence her frustration throughout the episode: it didn't work.
That's oddly written, but don't want to be spoilery.

Report
Tallaween · 29/10/2013 00:18

My first thought was that she had done the 'cleaning up' in order to cover for someone else.

I see your point about trying to stop it (and failing) but with Tyreese being an accepted part of the core group now it seems out of character to do something that is clearly going to upset him.

The time given so far this series to the characterisation of Lizzie, and the time they took to show her distress about Nick the zombie being killed, and the dead/I'll people both having worked the fence detail made me suspicious is all.

clings to delusion by fingernails
