Howling at the Grease bit

Nerfmother · 07/03/2014 21:59

They've all piled weight on. Time to get off the sofa Grin

threepiecesuite · 07/03/2014 22:00

Loved it tonight!

squoosh · 07/03/2014 22:00

Knitting lady has the same piece of knitting that she had last series! It doesn't look much bigger either.

Dom looks too much like my dad for me to consider him like that.

I didn't like the new couple either. He seemed controlling, didn't like him dissing her son. .The Grease bit was hilarious . As for the lady not putting on weight because of all the sex she'd been having! Funny.

Catsmamma · 08/03/2014 00:07

I roared laughing at the whole Steve McQueen thing.

Also quite liked the new couple. I do think the two hair dresser guys are overly crass sometimes.

Leon and June are just so very sweet!

caramelwaffle · 08/03/2014 01:21

Yes, yes to the "Steve McQueen..."

Ellenora5 · 08/03/2014 03:34

Amandine I have serious issues with the knitting, it's still yukky brown and hasn't really moved on at all, now compare that with the sons hair Shock it has grown a small pony tail right out the back of his head Grin

Still loving June and Leon, where were they on hols, lovely tan, as Leon showed off with his exposed legs Smile

Sandy and Sandra are brill, Sandras nails were something else, they needed a show all of their own, and no pot noodle cup in sight

Ellenora5 · 08/03/2014 03:37

Oops forgot about the Grease bit, bloody brill and I remember it having that beginning Grin it was great then and it still is

Oblomov · 08/03/2014 07:17

"I have just read red wine us bad for you. I must stop reading."

Ha ha. I love her.

Like all the other posters here, I don't like new couple.

Agreed. What is that awful tufty pony-tail thing on the back of his head?

Oblomov · 08/03/2014 07:25

Who are new couple replacing?
Why do we need new ones. I just like the old line up. No one has left, have they?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/03/2014 07:47

Not keen on UKIP lady at all.
I loved the match of the day bit where they were on about Mourinho. Get to bed now . Funny.

bigTillyMint · 08/03/2014 07:52

That boyfriend still hasn't said a word, although he did do a "Jeez!Hmm" look at the endSmile

Amandine29 · 08/03/2014 09:12

I seem to have totally missed the ponytail!

I agree the colour of that knitting is not good...it looks like she only brings it out for the show.

I don't mind the new families, they just need to settle in. I think I'm going off the male couple, especially the one on the left - I just think his comments are unkind. My favourites are now the father and two sons. I think they have a lovely dynamic going on.

I'm struck by how many of the families have people from different generations swearing in front of the other.

bigTillyMint · 08/03/2014 09:55

The ponytail just looked like another clump of hair TBH!

I love that the families watch together. It would be catsbum faces for at least 2 out of four in our house if we had to watch all those programmes together!

fussychica · 08/03/2014 15:51

Sooooooooo disappointed - used to love this programme. Too rehearsed, too much false swearing from the gay pair and everyone in general, agree with Logge1e. Time for me to bow out me thinks.

silvermantella · 08/03/2014 17:17

wasn't impressed by new highbrow (to differentiate them from posh couple!) couple at the start but the reptile thing got me giggling. The woman (Anne?) looks terrified all the time!

I read an article on how they do it too - apparently they have to watch so many hours per week, and they have a specific list of things to chose from. I suppose for Nelson Mandela/other 'newsworthy' things they can be contacted at short notice and asked to watch that if at all possible. What shocked me was that it said the film crew are usually hiding in the kitchen or nearby while filming - I assumed that there would just be a camera strategically placed, and then the footage collected the next day or something. Can't see how you can switch off and be authentic if there are 3 strangers, cameras, mikes etc, a few feet away from you!

silvermantella · 08/03/2014 17:19

also, are the older two men together or just friends? The one on the left (I think Chess grandmaster?) always sits sooo close to the other one, right up in his personal space, but then they don't hold hands, or cuddle, or flirt or anything. And the giant boobs behind them are very distracting!

Amandine29 · 08/03/2014 18:56

I think they are a couple but they're always described as friends so I could be wrong.

I read the article about how they film it and thought the same. I also notice that they wear mics which must be a reminder that they're being filmed.
