Well, I thought that was brilliant!
I don't watch a great deal of telly these days, but really enjoyed that.

Anyone else watching?

Tried but no. Saw th guys on the 1 show and mat was yumsome as ever but the programme?

didn't do it for me. nor did Spy which I watched for same MB reasons.

Im too HH minded. Hes HH man for me. same with Ben in ITTOI. love him and Capaldi but Ben is also too HH.

Might perservere with this programme though.

LIZS · 25/09/2013 17:51

found it :) . Not sure about Mat's white sock look though Confused

BinarySolo · 25/09/2013 18:25

My dh and I nearly didn't watch because neither of us can stand jc. BUT I really like mb so forced him. We both liked it and agreed jc was just about tolerable. he's still an annoying twat tho

oinktopus · 25/09/2013 20:12

Like most things, I gave it a chance and watched the first episode. Pleasantly surprised. MB was very good, I thought. JC marginally less annoying than usual. I'm definitely going to stick with it. It's different than almost anything else on British TV at the moment and I think it has the potential to become a bit of a cult. Glad I'm in there at the start!

If JC can develop another dimension (like pathos, perhaps), it'd help. Also, was he wearing mascara? His eyes looked weird.

AlphaBetaOoda · 25/09/2013 20:15

I enjoyed it. Hopefully JC is toned down a bit

Parmarella · 25/09/2013 20:21

James C ruins it for me. He can only play one role really, of the jovial matey...

diddl · 25/09/2013 20:27

I'd like to carry on with it to see what the conclusion is, but I can't tolerate JC enough.

Shame really.

And somehow I missed all the LOL moments!

Thecatisatwat · 26/09/2013 11:50

I hope it doesn't mean MB is giving up HH. Love love love him in that although it feels slightly wrong to fancy Dick Turpin.

i know, suffolk Sad but there will be a special at sometime, thats planned, plus Yonderland, and theyre making a film called Will, about Shakespeare, I think.

But its the HH ensemble too that just works doesnt it?

Myliferocks · 26/09/2013 17:14

I thought it was tedious and wasn't funny at all. I don't think I laughed once.
That's half an hour of my life that I'm never going to get back.

diddl · 26/09/2013 17:23

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't laugh!

Pixel · 28/09/2013 20:24

We turned it off half way through, and dh will generally sit through any old rubbish! It was just awful. When the geeky bloke had a five minute conversation with the kidnapper and even negotiated a change of time, but couldn't manage to mention he wasn't the owner of the phone we couldn't stand any more.

valiumredhead · 28/09/2013 22:13

I'm 5 mins inn and I've had enough already. Ill watch the rest tomorrow, perhaps I'm just not in the mood.

guineapiglet · 02/10/2013 11:39

We've just watched last night's episode on catch up - it was really very funny in places, Matt with his paper bag having a panic attack, it seems to be getting better and JC not as in your face - it is a really clever idea, and some good lines and situations and well known faces appear - including Dougray Scott - must be worth watching for him alone Grin

LIZS · 02/10/2013 12:02

I thought last night's was much pacier and amusing than previous episode.

valiumredhead · 02/10/2013 12:12

I tried again and turned off after ten mins. James Corden was painful to watch!

Thecatisatwat · 03/10/2013 10:00

No more HH?! I Dd will be distraught. I thought episode 2 of TWM was really good, very funny but in a subtle way rather than a shoved in your face way.

LIZS · 30/10/2013 11:25

O.K. did anyone follow the ending ! Were we supposed to ? ! Did the Transport Minister get shafted by the cancellation of HS2 and who planted the bomb ?

Catsycat · 30/10/2013 14:23

I thought MI5 had a word with the transport minister, so he didn't give into the blackmail attempt from Emilia Fox and her dad to run HS2 through the town. I don't know who planted the bomb though - not sure we were meant to know? I could be wrong, because I was mainly looking at Mat Baynton and thinking very impure thoughts :)

GreenShadow · 30/10/2013 17:28

Suppose we have to wait until they make a new series to find out the answer to the bomb thing Catsycat.

Not just my mind wandering, then!
