Well, I thought that was brilliant!
I don't watch a great deal of telly these days, but really enjoyed that.

Anyone else watching?

Am at the moment
Gave it a go because of Mathew Baynton. Glad I did (so far)

QueenBoudicea · 24/09/2013 21:46

I thought it was brilliant. How many episodes is it?

Lexiesinclair · 24/09/2013 21:47

I caught the beginning by accident and couldn't stop watching! V good. It was episode 1/6.

diddl · 24/09/2013 21:49

I thought it was absolute rubbish.

Great idea, but oh dear, James Cordon ruined it for me.

Ziggyzoom · 24/09/2013 21:51

I enjoyed it. I thought JC occasionally seemed to be imitating Ricky Gervais, but otherwise it was good.

GreenShadow · 24/09/2013 21:51

Even my DH was laughing out loud - not many TV shows have that effect on him.

I do agree with you diddl - James Cordon was too over the top for a show like this.

I thought the very begining with the party and him crying about his v neck jumper was really funny

bogwobbit · 24/09/2013 21:54

I found it 'laugh out loud' funny too and there aren't many comedies I can say that about! And I'm not a great James Corden fan either.

wasabipeanut · 24/09/2013 21:54

I liked it. Laughed out loud several times.

Mathew Baynton is a bit of a bonus.

HouseAtreides · 24/09/2013 21:56

I liked it apart from James Corden- I usually like him but he drove me nuts and I turned over.

lirael · 24/09/2013 21:57

I loved it - very clever, funny and beautifully filmed

BillStickersIsInnocent · 24/09/2013 21:59

So far so good. Laughed out loud several times and DH watched it with me (we NEVER watch TV together) and he laughed too so it's brilliant in my book.

Agreed MC annoying but MB a very good actor.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 24/09/2013 22:00

JC I mean.

GreenShadow · 24/09/2013 22:02

I wasn't sure whether Mat would work in it, but he was absolutely brilliant.

OP posts:
lirael · 24/09/2013 22:17

Does anyone know what that song was at the beginning - when Mat's character was walking to work in the snow? I loved it!

Quangle · 24/09/2013 22:22

Only watched this as I didn't turn off after GBBO and really liked it. I hardly watch any tv other than the aforementioned GBBO so its nice to have something else to add to my schedule. I laughed at the "keeping warm" bit when they were wrestling outside.

42RedBalloons · 24/09/2013 22:25

The song was Get Me Away From Here I'm Dying by Belle and Sebastian, I think (sure about the Belle and Sebastian bit, not sure if I've got the title exactly right)

lirael · 24/09/2013 23:31

Thanks - off to download now Smile

Bea · 24/09/2013 23:32

yep! belle and Sebastian! and one of my faves!!!

valiumredhead · 24/09/2013 23:47

Oh Bugger,I missed it!

Xmasbaby11 · 24/09/2013 23:53

first 5 mins was just like the Office. Old hat.

out2lunch · 25/09/2013 01:35

it got better
jc was pretty awful in it

Cherrypie32 · 25/09/2013 07:34

It's on BBC Iplayer. JC only ever seems to have one acting character, he's the same in everything. He's a bit irritating in this but had a couple of good moments. The other guy is a revelation as we aren't old enough for Horrible Histories yet. I enjoyed it, a bit different.

LIZS · 25/09/2013 08:28

Love Mat - looked like Paddington , all wide eyed in his duffle coat ! Seeing review this am (sorry DM) suggest it is a pastiche of tv drama and action films but that was pretty lost on me . JC is a bit 1 dimensional for me , was a similar character to his Dr Who one.

MutantAndProud · 25/09/2013 08:54

Didn't like James Corden at all but Mat Baynton was fab, looking forward to next week!
