So, Daryl fans, he'll be back on our screens in all his badass glory on 18th October on Fox.

those of us who can't wait will no doubt have already hypothetically worked out where we can hypothetically view it online after it has aired in the US

I didn't understand the hoohaha about who killed the people that had been dragged outside - weren't they walkers so had to be killed?

Or were they just sick and then killed by somebody to stop the spread of infection?

Monroe my friend and I are paying stupid money to go to The Norman Reedus VIP Experience at something called WizardCon in April. :o I get to see him and get a picture with him and hug him and I'm sure at some point security will have to be called to make me let go.

Maybe Carl killed them. That would explain why Carol kind of legged it when Rick asked her.

I was at a Prison Break do in Cannes and someone launched himself at Wentworth Miller and had to be peeled off with some difficulty by two security guards while Miller stood there looking horrified.

This was long before this year when Miller came out. But the mad fan and some of the rest us always knew

And ice hockey. It's insanely violent but my punk-arse pinko European self sneakily likes it. Northern Europeans are really war-like. I think it's a genetic thing that we can only express during binge-drinking because on the whole we don't have insanely violent sports or war. Much.

It was Weeds where someone - Andy or Silas? - ate a butter sculpture. I missed the cultural significance, so thanks. I love Weeds.

Minnesotans are usually really mild mannered but then you see even little kids throw off the gloves and try to beat the crap out of each other on the rink! Hockey is insanity and I love it. :o My son wants to play basketball instead. It's up to my DD...she's five months old now, surely I'm slacking since she hasn't been on the ice yet?

Anyway, sorry to derail! :)

I'm a huge hockey fan. I used to live next door to the hockey arena in Columbus. The Jackets aren't a great team but I still went all the time. I even travelled to Stockholm to see them open the NHL season against the Sharks. I'm also possibly the only car driver in London with a Jackets bumper sticker.

Years ago my father got me tickets to both semis (men) at the Salt Lake Olympics. Two games in a row- I was in hockey heaven.

buss the hoo ha is because they were still alive, they were only shows flu symptoms and they couldn't have known they would definitely die so they were actually murdered. If it was carol, and I think it was, I'm guessing it was to prevent it spreading and to try and protect everyone else. The fact that she failed is why she is probably feeling so terrible now

I've hesitated about posting this but I'm nursing a glass of wine so I'll tell you what I really liked apart from the drama: the fact that three black actors get a storyline.

I know Daryl is still the lead, but Michonne's not far behind and Bob and Tyreese have good storylines too - especially with it being pointed out that they need Bob's knowledge because otherwise they'll just pick up Bach's Rescue Remedies.

Sorry, if that makes me sound like a patronising white lady. But I really noticed that the white actor was in the minority in a normal situation. Or normalish

The Wire is another one. Luther doesn't count though I do love Idris Elba and so does my mum

I know he was the leader of the group and it would have been even better if one of the black people led, but still...

Mind you, perhaps it's a zombie film tradition because the hero in both Dawn of the Deads is black.

Feel free to put me right if I've got it wrong or tell me off for being horribly patronising. Honestly. I won't mind, because I think it's important and it made me think. Anyway, I was quite impressed.

I have noticed that, too, limitedperiodonly. They were criticised in seasons 1-3 for their use (or lack of) black cast members, so maybe that is why. If you think back to T-dog, who famously never said anything, or would have one line per episode, or to the pattern in 1-3 of killing off the one black member of the team before another was introduced , it was pretty glaringly poor.

Also agree re Carol - she's had her part beefed up and is noticeably one of the most prominent and interesting characters now, which is nice.

New showrunner this season.

How is Father Christmas :) managing to walk without crutches ? Have they found a fake leg for him?

Lots of zomblies when in the car - not sure why they didn't try to get the car off the bodies rather then leaving the car?

Just caught up with last 2 episodes this weekend. I spent a lot of it with my hands over my eyes shouting "shit!" And "ew!"

I think Rick might have lost the humanity he had developed during his stint as a farmer.
I called it about Carol killing and burning the bodies. Not sure if she is covering - she is very 'for the greater good' and switches to being very cold when she needs to.

Am wondering when the Govenor will reappear....

I totally see her with Daryl and will be heartbroken if it doesn't happen.

I think carol has a hard side to her, she was in a terrible awful marriage for years and then lost her daughter. And the person she has latched onto is Daryl who let's face it is a rough old redneck who got up to god knows what before the infection arrived and was a loose cannon in series one.
