Just seen a trailer for The Walking Dead S4!! I actually squeed out loud. I never squee IRL. DP give me this look Hmm

So, Daryl fans, he'll be back on our screens in all his badass glory on 18th October on Fox.

those of us who can't wait will no doubt have already hypothetically worked out where we can hypothetically view it online after it has aired in the US Grin

He looked like he was doing some CSI style analysis of a bloody handprint(?). It looked too small for a man, bodies too heavy for a child. Confused

I've still got some of the gory bits stuck in my head from last episode/ previous to that!

limitedperiodonly · 05/11/2013 14:23

I saw him looking at the bloody handprint. I didn't realise he was probably checking for size.

Suddengeekgirl · 05/11/2013 14:27

Not sure if he was TBH Blush
But it's what I'd do, while taking my sunglasses off and on, like David Carusso in CSI! :)

Suddengeekgirl · 05/11/2013 14:30

blondes - maybe they raided a high end prosthetic limb shop? Confused Next episode he will have the running blades and will be able to escape from the zombies. :)

limitedperiodonly · 05/11/2013 14:33

No, I think you're right suddengeekgirl. I think I remember him measuring it against his own hand - I could be imagining that though.

CheerfulYank · 05/11/2013 15:06

I think it was a mixture of the handprint and watching her interact and realizing how far she would go for the people there.

susiedaisy · 05/11/2013 17:49

Herschel does limp and Daryl pointed out that he wouldn't be able to run if walkers attacked when they went in the car. I have seen him strapping on a sort of wooden leg at some point

Listmaker · 05/11/2013 18:58

I agree with Susie. We did see Hershel strapping on some kind of prosthesis at one point.

Love, love this programme but makes me want a shower. They all look so sweaty and grubby. Suits Daryl though Wink.

MrsSlocombesPussy · 05/11/2013 19:13

I think I read somewhere that they picked up a prosthetic leg for Hershel between the this season and the last. (I think several months have gone by, judging by the size of Judith).

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/11/2013 13:17

Don't rent the fake leg being found??

And yes that's how I measure time via bubs

Eariier post of mine makes her about 6/7 months old and therefore as ricks wife got preg at beginning when having affair with friend and 9mths of preg - I make it roughly 16mths since zomblies attacked and first episode

Shame doesn say on screen how many months /days it been

Def need to leave prison and find a new camp and new stories

limitedperiodonly · 07/11/2013 13:44

I'm glad you've come along with that timeline blondes because I was thinking about it the other day when I saw how much Carl has aged. Obviously, if it's an adult actor it can be hidden better.

Maybe that's why they didn't used to have so many children in it. Plus, I find child actors in things like this are unrealistic, I think it's so as not to upset the audience.

I think a child would very quickly become terrifying - like child soldiers in various recent African civil wars or children who denounced their parents in 20th century societies like East Germany or China - whereas adults have a memory of what used to be and want to go back there.

They are doing that with Carl though. In fact he's not scary enough. That's why I wasn't upset by the baby seat covered in gore, because it would happen in this new world.

Apologies for nicking the theory of someone else on this thread, or maybe it was the US-time one. You made me think. And baby-gore-bothered poster - I know what you meant.

btw I love telly and I get so pissed off with threads on other boards on here where people say: 'Oh, it's been so long since I watched the TV, I can't remember how to switch it on any more.

'I spend my evenings reading Austen and having meaningful conversations with DH to a background of Radio 3.'

Pretentious wankers.

PS In case I came over all deep there, I mostly do trivial and will try to resume normal service asap Wink

limitedperiodonly · 07/11/2013 13:50

Next episode he will have the running blades and will be able to escape from the zombies

Herschel as a metaphor for Oscar Pistorius pursued by the South African police suddengeekgirl? Wink

susiedaisy · 07/11/2013 14:54

Does anyone know if we have 6 episodes now and 6 in spring 2014 like last year?

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/11/2013 20:52

yes carl does look much older, think we have wd every year, so been going on what 4 years tho in their timescale been 15/18mths tops

CheerfulYank · 08/11/2013 02:22

I assume they will have to do a time jump at some point, otherwise Carl will begin to look ridiculous.

Monroe · 08/11/2013 23:14

[Shock] no on no no no no no no no Sad

EggInABap · 08/11/2013 23:17

HmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmm

HarderToKidnap · 08/11/2013 23:31

Only thing he could have done really. She murdered two people and had to go somehow. It was obvious though from when she mentioned Maggie had wanted to come on the run and had had to stay behind.

anonacfr · 08/11/2013 23:32

Ok I have posted this on the other thread as well- what if Carol runs into Darryl and the others returning to the prison?

Monroe · 08/11/2013 23:36

I think she'd tell them. The way she was talking, saying she could handle tyreese, I think she totally feels like she did the right thing. She said she felt bad but doesn't
Seem that bothered about it.
I think if Rick was so convinced she had to leave he should have let the whole group decide, not just him. He's gone back into dictator mode

susiedaisy · 08/11/2013 23:44

Oh no poor Carole Shock

Although I don't agree with what she did.

I bet Daryl is saving that green stone for Carole!

ladyrainy · 08/11/2013 23:48

I think Tyreese would have tried to kill Carol if Rick had have let the group decide and it would have caused a lot of upset and unrest - Rick probably thought he was doing the right thing by giving Carol a chance on her own.

Carol let those 2 young people die though - Rick didn't want them to go out foraging for food as he could see how vulnerable they were, but Carol made them feel like they had to.

Monroe · 08/11/2013 23:52

Just re watched that bit. Darryl mumbles something about a Mr Richards in a block asking him to look out for some to use as his old man's marker?
That was my best translation without subtitles.
Michonne asked him if he knew everyone there, he said you'd be surprised what you find out if you stick around.
So I don't think it's for carol but one of the other members of the group.

Monroe · 08/11/2013 23:56

I do know what you mean. As much as I like carol that episode left me feeling a bit uncomfortable about her.
The beginning showed Rick thinking through how she would have killed them. And I agree she was quick to send the 2 young ones out even though they were both injured
she has become very mercenary

lovingthelackofpressure · 09/11/2013 11:47

I think that whole episode was Rick looking for some remorse in Carol. When she showed non and then sent those two young ones off to forage then it's showed Rick she had non so he knew she had to go.
