New sci fi series about an invisible dome that traps people into a town - those who try and escape/touch it get an electric shock

no one can get in or out, tho water can seep in, there is no wifi/tv or phone signal but a local radio station can broadcast

those who watched under sufferance Revolution on sky 1 may enjoy Grin

Absolutely loved it :)

Hopefully will have a better plot then revolution ..... that's not hard

Loved the half cow and tractor and the special effects when things crash into the wall - like the lorry

I watched the first one, and now watching the second one. I am only watching because I saw the Simpsons version.

I just wondered before I committ further is it sci fi, in which case great, or is it horror... Which I will runaway from screaming!

Its hard to put into a particular catagory....worth warching even from behind a cushion I reckon.

It does get uncomfortable in places...

Barbies rather scrumptious :)

So, mike, when you say bit of both... How horror is it? I loved the x files, v, torch wood kind of thing. But avoid stuff like vampires, saw, hostel.

No idea. I'm too scared to ask in case I spoil it for myself.

I did hear that they have commissioned a second season and Stephen King is writing the first ep.

Hello peeps. Do I know any of you from the Returned thread? (sorry, I'm rubbish at names)

Reminds me a bit of that, with the small town feel. Also a bit "Midwich Cuckoos" village-cut-off thing, but without the freaky children Grin

Also I was actually planning on starting a thread with the title I want that hair

The reporter, journalist, whoever she is.

I don't think it's very horror at all, more scifi.

Julia is played by the lady who plays Victoria in the Twilight films. Smile

I like it and it gets much better. :)

I've got the book burning a hole in my hand bag.

It's pretty hefty though. Not sure even I could get through it before next week.

I have just watched episode nine and downloading episode 10 ...loving the series but there is talk of a second series. I wonder how that will work?

Report
Rummikub · 27/08/2013 22:58

I had to stop watching the returned half way through as it was scaring me. I will stick with under the dome if its more sci fi.

Watched it

Im crap with names so try and follow Grin

Bearded bloke fights with reporters hubby and kills and buries him then goes to her house and sleeps in her spare bed while reporter lady worried about missin hubby

Stalker kidnaps a woman and declares his love for her and she thinks he's bonkers and doesn't love him / then sees pics of them together in a photo booth looking lovey dovey

What was the scam going on? The papers stuck under the table and then man set fire to them and house burned down

Something to do with dead policeman who had a shock via pacemaker

Hmm, after watching the second episode, I may give the rest a miss. It's far too different to the book, and I've realised that they have kind of merged a few of the characters.

Plus Barbie is supposed to be a hero Damnitt!

I think I will spend too much time shouting at the TV "NO, that's NOT what is supposed to happen" to enjoy it Grin

thats the sad thing dallas-books and tv are rarely the same

i read all the dexter books and then on tv and plots change :(

you either need to see the tv series or read the book - not both as gets annoying

Yeah, I don't remember the bearded/ex army bloke been a murderer in the book. It's years since I read it though.
