Well, when I say almost what I mean is the 29th September in the US, and I think we were a week behind last series so early October - roll on the Autumn.

. One of the comments says that at the end Brodie says in Arabic "I am a muslim lost in this world..help me come clean again".

I CANNOT wait. I've missed Carrie so much. And Saul. Anyone sad enough to join me in the anticipation?

Oh I am bit confused now.
Javadi did not explicitly say it was or wasn't Brody did her?
And Mrs Saul what is that all about?

GypsyFloss · 17/11/2013 22:03

*he not her!

ButThereAgain · 17/11/2013 22:03

Just realised how much Carrie reminds me of Legolas, with her superstraight blonde hair and her troubled sad face. And you never see them in the same room together. Funny that.

difficultpickle · 17/11/2013 22:04

I was doing stuff and missed the bit between Saul and Salieri. It seemed as if Salieri knew what was going on all along. Is that correct?

Hassled · 17/11/2013 22:08

No, it was news to Salieri - but he said all the right things and was supportive etc. Just looked inscrutable.

The vomiting could be a not-on-her-meds thing, maybe? If it is the pregnancy, it means it has to be liquor store guy.

And Quinn - what's his motivation? He hates the CIA, he has The Guilt, he wants out - but then he'll stay to help Carrie re Brody. Why?

OP posts:
ButThereAgain · 17/11/2013 22:11

Because he promised himself that he would be her Guardian angel? He loves her from afar but feels he hasn't a chance so will martyr himself and silently prove his love by facilitating her reunion with Brody?

ButThereAgain · 17/11/2013 22:14

Do we think Saul might be the one who moved the SUV into place for the Langley bomb? He spoke rather cryptically about the delicacy of turning a senior agent. Perhaps he was referring to the process by which he was turned, years ago in Iran. Mrs Saul is somehow unwittingly caught up in this?

Thecircle · 17/11/2013 22:14

I think there's definitely something amiss with Quinn.

As someone else said Estes ordered Quinn to kill Brody and he didn't, leaving Brody free to get to Langley/bomb to be planted.

I so want him to be a goody though.

Sauls wife must be a double agent working for Iran. Why else would she stick around??

Hassled · 17/11/2013 22:19

Yes to some sort of a Quinn/Brody link that we don't know about yet. There's something going on .

And no to Saul moving the SUV. Saul is GOOD, dammit.

I meant to link to this before: interesting piece showing the parallels between the Homeland plots and Le Carre plots]]

OP posts:
GypsyFloss · 17/11/2013 22:24

Because he actually has a deeper mission to protect Brody and whilst Carrie is going around poking her nose in then he has to stay in the game?

GypsyFloss · 17/11/2013 22:26

I think that Javadi could easily have been referring to Saul when he was talking about the one who built the bomb and moved the SUV but did not get killed.

Hassled · 17/11/2013 22:31

But then why would Saul have instigated the conversation about who was responsible?

OP posts:
Thecircle · 17/11/2013 22:32

Saul was at sea burying Abu Nazir then wasn't he?

Javadi said someone that was still in the country- that could be a big clue, but he also said his lawyer knew who had done it.

I'm so impatient and need answers asap

GypsyFloss · 17/11/2013 22:35

I know Hassled it doesn't make sense.I think I am just speculating rings around myself now :)

Hassled · 17/11/2013 22:38

I know - it messes with your head, doesn't it? I was so tense tonight I just wanted it to be over.

If this all ends like a giant damp unsatisfactory squib (I'm looking at you, Lost writers) I will be livid.

OP posts:
Showtime · 17/11/2013 22:46

I think Javadi would say anything to get Carrie to believe in Brody's innocence about the bombing, thinking she'll then convince everyone else he's innocent, while he's later manipulated from Iran.
Quinn's last comment to her was untruthful, I believe, and he won't be protecting her.

GypsyFloss · 17/11/2013 22:48

It is beginning to feel like all Saul's big game, where only he knows what is really happening and it's a game he's been playing for 20 odd years. Like people chess.

GypsyFloss · 17/11/2013 22:49

Showtime what do you think Quinn is up to then?

I have just returned from the far future. i can tell you unequivocally and truthfully that Saul is a baddie.

onedev · 17/11/2013 23:53

I don't get it Jux??

Showtime · 17/11/2013 23:59

Sorry Gypsy, I don't know, it was just the intonation of the words as he turned away.
For what it's worth, I think Saul's a pacifist now - whether he's a baddie or not depends on your politics.

unitarian · 18/11/2013 01:08

I'm now fairly sure Mrs Saul is an Iranian agent. At the very least the mystery man from Mumbai is. She reappeared immediately after the bombing.
Quinn's eyes in that last scene had the same wild expression Carries have then they suddenly focussed and he agreed to help her. He's had doubts about the morality of it all particularly since he killed that little boy in the assassination that took place after the Langley bombing and now he wants out but I suppose he reckons there's no way out for him so is prepared help Carrie. He seems to feel that Carrie is good and that it's right to follow her lead.
I fear Quinn might yet take the rap for the murders and he believes he has enough blood on his hands to deserve it.
I don't trust Salieri.

GypsyFloss · 18/11/2013 06:21

I think Saul is obsessed with Iran. I didn't like the way he blocked Mrs Saul out and then let her back in . It is very controlling.
Quinn gives an air of atoning for past sins, do you remember how sparse his living area was when they first looked into who he was? He's like a warrior monk .

Lagoonablue · 18/11/2013 08:20

Quinn wasn't shifty. I think he was trying to open up with. Carrie and rather than listen to him she went off on one about Brody. Quinn sort of looked resigned and dejected and said of course he would help. Think he was just disappointed she didn't really listen to him.

Loving the shower scene though.

Saul very ambiguous.
