THURSDAY ORDER OF PLAY

Well, it's flying by, this tournament. Sad

Am very miffed that Lipsticki is on second,as I'll probably miss all of it- due to having school meetings and Rainbows between 2.30 and 5.30. .I may catch bits but it's not looking good. And as it's on Centre, even a rain delay won't help.

Not sure who I want to win the first match - but Lipsticki for the tournament, I say- so Go! Lipsticki!

I am actually barred from going into dentist room with dc's because I fainted in there once when dd younger had a filling done - they did not use any numbing stuff or anything and it freaked me out when I saw a tear run down her face. I hit the floor like a sack of spuds and now I am told to wait in waiting room Grin

Raahh · 04/07/2013 11:50

I'm watching the oldies doubles- talking of teeth-Cedric Pioline's are massive!

I got tickets in the ballot for today but I didn't take them up because I don't really like women's tennis! But before you tell me off, remember that someone else will have got them who would really appreciate it.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/07/2013 11:57

scanning up thread - mumble you need suncream and plenty of water! What a fabulous day you will have.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/07/2013 11:58

And for more good news

new weather thread

Raahh · 04/07/2013 12:01

Fox- that is very generous of you. Tbh, I'm not a follower of the women's game most of the time either, just watch it when there's nothing else. And I'll watch any tennis they show on the tv (in the absence of cable/satellite sports channelsSad).

I was thinking yesterday about what I did before the internet- apart from visiting my mum a lot through the year (she doeshave sky sports/euro sport etc)- I think most of the year, all my info came from CeefaxGrin

And sieze- your DD clearly needs 6+ Calpol- did wonders for Del Potato.

It also lead to me singing 'Delpo, delpo, delpo and his magic knee' (to the tune of 'Jamie and his magic torch)Grin yesterday. Dd1 and ds looked like thisHmm they are bored with tennis and can't wait for Monday Sad

Awww ,your poor dd sieze Flowers

I'm watching the Pioline match -he looks so different without his hair . Paul Haarhuis seems to look exactly as I remembered him .

ClayDavis · 04/07/2013 12:09

I didn't watch it at all last year but the year before I watche it in the pub down the road. Decided I'd spent too much time there when I got off the bus from work one evening and my drink was already on the bar.

Raahh · 04/07/2013 12:11

Clay- that is funnyGrin

ClayDavis · 04/07/2013 12:19

I think it had more to do with the pub than anything else. Despite being in the middle of town its traditional and mostly used by a few old guys playing cards. I've no idea why no one else uses it. Its got one of the best screens for viewing sport and its half the price of everywhere else.

siezethenight · 04/07/2013 12:23

clay Grin

mumblechum1 · 04/07/2013 12:28

sieze
Wait a minute - hold everything - mumble you are going to the finals???

Yup. DH and I invited by his boss as a reward for doing Something Particularly Good at Work (no idea what). so we get picked up by a driver, taken to a marque for lunch, then watch the tennis then afternoon tea, with champagne etc. Grin

btw your dd may not be too bad at all after her op. DS had both his taken out a while ago and we were all set for it being very horrible, but he recovered well in the hospital, had some ice cream before they let him go, and had no bruising or after effects at all. He just felt a bit woozy that evening but otherwise no problem. I really hope your dd is the same.

FoxMulder · 04/07/2013 12:31

Wow, that sounds awesome. I've never been able to afford so much as a plastic cup of Pimms at Wimbledon. It's crazy money there.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 04/07/2013 12:34

Checking in Tennis

I'd like Lisicki and Radwanska to win.

Raahh · 04/07/2013 12:35

Clay I love pubs like that.

mumble- even moreEnvy Grin

Oh, I've got mixed up!

Grin
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 04/07/2013 12:42

Right

I would like Lisicki and Flipkens to win!

Remind me again why MN doesn't have an edit post option? BlushGrin

MirandaWest · 04/07/2013 12:42

The men's doubles on court 3 is particularly good Grin. Just had a 67 or so stroke rally mostly at the net. I like the red button and the TV app on my iPad :)

HappyAsEyeAm · 04/07/2013 12:48

Hello ladies

I have not managed to time DS2's nap with the start of the first semi, unfortunately. I had planned on putting him down at 1:00, but he fell asleep eating lunch at midday. This means that I will have company quite quickly, and the school run to do at 3:00. Not ideal, but I will watch what I can!

Well jell of mumble and her finals ticket. I got tickets to the final one year, and saw Venus lift the trophy. Twas v special. Got nothing in the ballot this year though.

Going to get m refreshments in before it all starts!

Raahh · 04/07/2013 12:54

Ali- when I filled in the MN census, I meant to put 'edit button' as a thing that could be improved. I forgotBlush

And- this has made me laugh- on the site where you can check just how much time some people spend waste on here - I'm number 3 on the top ten authors listGrin

Not sure whether to be Blush or proudGrin

Stila · 04/07/2013 12:55

Even if you are the last placed pair you get £12,000 for the oldies doubles ......not bad for the fun they have .

siezethenight · 04/07/2013 12:55

mumble spit on the floor! (figuratively as we frown upon such a thing Grin in rl) That's terrific for you both! You planning on Mning while there? Go on, you know you want to!
Dd never stayed in hospital, it was Home James immediately after the whole experience. I have made the ultimate sacrifice - fed my Sky box into her bedroom from my bedroom. Now I am totally stuck downstairs with tennis so no visitors - I have sent out a text stating 'Dd has had major dental work - please don't come up today/tomorrow/weekend as she's not well' Ha! That'll scupper the popper-iners for the remainder of Wimbledon.
happy! You are here - hurrah - are we all present and correct now then?

Stila · 04/07/2013 12:56

That's £12,000 each btw
