Here we are wonderful Wednesday
ORDER OF PLAY

Of course I'm rooting for Ferrer- Vamos! But would love Del Potato to dowell too,so torn.
Kubot/Janowicz, bit difficult to call really.
Would love Berdych to triumph over Djoko- (then Ferrer can whup him in the semi'sGrin)
Am going for Verdasco- obs, as he's Spanish, and it would be wrong not tooGrin - I'm sure Murray is not without support!Grin

here's to a limited rain disruption!

Chubfuddler · 03/07/2013 13:45

Course I would. And apparently so would he.

Chubfuddler · 03/07/2013 13:46

Really to which bit?

Chubfuddler · 03/07/2013 13:47

Did he? Djok is injured?

Super (obviously mean him no actual harm but in the context of wimbledon, good)

Raahh · 03/07/2013 13:47

to taking £195,000 over the possibility of ending your career.

Witt · 03/07/2013 13:48

At this level, they make more money from sponsorship deals so he doesn't need to keep going for the money. I think he should retire rather than risk further injury.

FarleyD · 03/07/2013 13:48

It's been four years because he's been injury stricken. My "really" was would you really risk your knee for £195000? In the grand scheme it's not that much money for a short term gain.

Raahh · 03/07/2013 13:48

I think Ferrer is very rattled- but he's a master of the 5 set match.

FarleyD · 03/07/2013 13:49

Well, this has really been the most amazing Wimbledon. Who'd have thought half an hour ago, El Pot would have two breaks?

JaquelineHyde · 03/07/2013 13:49

I think Del Potro is putting it all out there in the hope he can win it in 3.

Ferrer is doing himself no favours at the moment.

NotAQueef · 03/07/2013 13:49

oh FFS I just want to be at home watching this.

Chubfuddler · 03/07/2013 13:50

It wouldn't be the end though, it's a risk of it being the end. He'd get a position on the board of some sports thingy or another, he's got five or ten years left in this sport at best anyway. It's not a long career so I don't blame him for carrying on. He could quite conceivably never make the quarters of a GS again. It will happen to all of them one day. Nadal must have been having problems but he still came to wimbledon. They capitalise on the moment.

FarleyD · 03/07/2013 13:50

And I've always liked Ferrer, but my admiration for him has increased during this match. And, there's no doubt, he'll hang on in there.

JaquelineHyde · 03/07/2013 13:50

How's Djok getting on anyone?

Raahh · 03/07/2013 13:50

Jac No- Ferrer is definitely proving the rotten first serve statistic right.

OP posts:
siezethenight · 03/07/2013 13:51

What do we think then? Is he okay or is Ferrer playing timidly because of the injury? If Ferrer gets properly going, Potato might hurt himself again?
I don't know what to think really.

Chubfuddler · 03/07/2013 13:51

If he's had four years of injury all the more reason to assume its not going to get any better, and press on.

siezethenight · 03/07/2013 13:51

Did somebody say Djok is injured?

Witt · 03/07/2013 13:53

Can someone tell McEnroe to say Juan instead of Del Pocho.

Raahh · 03/07/2013 13:53

I don't think Ferrer is playing timidly, I think he's a bit shaken and playing badly- at least by his standards.

Whilst Del Po's serve hold's up, anything could happen.

ceebeegeebies · 03/07/2013 13:54

Must remember to collect DS1 from school...please can someone remind me in an hour Grin

JaquelineHyde · 03/07/2013 13:54

McEnroe needs to stop saying Del Pot Cho, or Del Porcho or any other variation of the poor mans name!

NotAQueef · 03/07/2013 13:54

Witt I hear ya! I have moaned about it up thread already - I might also have tweeted BBC sport to have a word with McEnroe

"DEL POE CHOE"

Witt · 03/07/2013 13:55

Just flicked and Djoko match is still on serve

JaquelineHyde · 03/07/2013 13:55

What a first set well done Del Potro!
