WIMBLEDON - 2013- Second Set!

Raahh · 28/06/2013 08:34

Thought we'd have a new thread for today.

It is raining cats and dogs (technical term) here in theNorth West- I am not very hopeful of a full days play at Wimbledon. but fingers crossed. The weather bloke last night today would be 'Frustrating Friday'in terms of play. Fond of alliteration, those Wimbledon types.

FRIDAY ORDER OF PLAY

As I thought,Robson has had an up-grade from court 2 to centre, which should give her a boost.

Looking forward to see if Dimitrov pulls through- and
VAMOS FERRER!!
first upon number 1 court.

Yay! Del Potato just won second set. He obviously doesn't know I'm watching him.

siezethenight · 29/06/2013 16:59

Ohhhh Raahh You are quickly becoming my favourite!

siezethenight · 29/06/2013 17:00

Shhhhh Farley

FarleyD · 29/06/2013 17:00

Raahh - were you there during the infamous Cliff sing-song?

Chubfuddler · 29/06/2013 17:00

But he did look gorg in that suit

FarleyD · 29/06/2013 17:03

Blimey, really think they should have some sort of, er, protection the speed some of those balls fly around at.

siezethenight · 29/06/2013 17:04

Raahh probably started Cliff off singing....

FarleyD · 29/06/2013 17:06

Yes she probably had a sniff of vodka, and off she went!

Just out of interest seize, did you have your dc at Singleton (apologies to the rest of you for random question!). Both my M and D worked there.

Raahh · 29/06/2013 17:07

No- it didn't rain the year (94?) . he mercifully didn't singGrin

Go Del potato!

Hah, commentator on Del Potato just said about Del Potato "what a position to be in, balls in hand and off we go!" Couldn't agree more!

Raahh · 29/06/2013 17:14

balls in hand

OP posts:
ClayDavis · 29/06/2013 17:14

This doesn't look good for del Potato.

Raahh · 29/06/2013 17:15

Oh-have got Del Potato on my red button- and he's hurt himselfShock

OP posts:
siezethenight · 29/06/2013 17:17

I did farley Had all three there. If they were there, they will recall me - I am the one who was told on each occasion that I was not in labour and go home... Each time I had given birth within 10 mins of being told that... I shot them all out, like peas... Literally. They were tiny babies though.
My 22 year old is having a baby in 6 weeks time, she was in Singleton Hospital Maternity last Monday night as they could not find a heartbeat Shock All ended well though Grin.... This is why I keep telling her and partner - guys, really, time to move out now, yeah?? You both work, you are engaged, I love you tons but - come onnnnn.....

I can't find Del Potato.... Again with the red button. I am going to flounce soon then write a strongly worded letter of complaint to the red button man.

FarleyD · 29/06/2013 17:18

Nooooo! Del Potato just fell and hurt his knee, bless him. Was lying flat on his face but he's up now. He really needs someone to rub it better ...

Raahh · 29/06/2013 17:18

2 more games, Del Potato!! 2 more games!

Don't you dare default!

OP posts:
siezethenight · 29/06/2013 17:20

Well, I think you are the closest farley So off you go, take the deep heat and rub it all better!

Raahh · 29/06/2013 17:24

nasty fall, over all the chairs. He's so tall.

OP posts:
Raahh · 29/06/2013 17:32

Been so worried about Del Potato, didn't even realise the Ferrer match had started! He's doing ok,though!

Farley I have been on Centre Court for an infamous Cliff sing-a-long. My mum, who I had taken along, got all excited - more so than at the tennis Hmm That was 2001 I think. It was the year Ivanisevic played Henman in the semis and we had tickets for ladies finals day but only saw less than an hour of the men's semis instead (then we got our money back!)

I'm definitely up for a Henman Hill jolly next year Tennis

Raahh · 29/06/2013 17:36

That Henman/Ivanisevic match was stressful. He was so close. Was glad Goran won in the end- the Rafter final is one of my favourites.

OP posts:
Witt · 29/06/2013 17:39

I'm pleased that if he had to lose it was to Goran and that Goran went on to win the final. I may have said FUCKKKKK very loudly when Henman lost the fourth set - luckily (in that sense) we were right at the back in the rafters. I've just remembered Ainsley Harriott was sitting two rows behind us.

Raahh · 29/06/2013 17:39

Spoke too soon- VAMOS FERRER!!
