Shock

This is a thread for all fans of the weekday soap Doctors, BBC1, 1.45pm. However, it's taking its annual break from 21st June until it returns on 22nd July.

Therefore, us fans are waiting patiently in the virtual waiting room.

  • Mrs T is rearrrrrrrrrrranging the leaflets
  • Zaniel are getting frisky in the cupboard (again)
  • Al is spying on Jas eating her lunch (disclaimer: he may fancy the lunch more than Jas)

So regulars please sign in and take a seat. Newbies very welcome indeed as we plan to keep the thread going by talking drivel throughout the break. 'Tis fun Grin

ooh- I've just discovered something completely un-related to anything, that everyone else probably already knew.

I put stamp on an envelope, the envelope wouldn't stick, decided to try and remove stamp, and put it on another envelope.

YOU CAN'T!!

When you try to peel it, there are 2 teeny little holes and it would be impossible to pick off the tiny sticky bits left behind and re-assemble said stamp. So no more re-using stamps that miss the franking machine. Grin
never done that in my life, honest

Raahh · 10/07/2013 11:19

This was after i queued for ages at the Post Office, to buy ONE stamp, btw tight

Grin
MsNobodyAgain · 10/07/2013 11:21

How long is it since you used a proper stamp? They have been like that for ages you donut!

Smile

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/07/2013 11:27

Oh Raahh you have to cut round the stamp on the envelope and then glue the stamp and small square of envelope behind it onto the new envelope!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/07/2013 11:31

Like old fashioned price stickers.

Still waiting.

Raahh · 10/07/2013 11:35

Anne- I'm really not very bright
Grin

MsN mmmmmm donuts......

Raahh · 10/07/2013 11:37

I suppose I must have used stamps at Christmas. And most of those went out with olympic logo'd stamps on. Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 10/07/2013 12:38

You have also learned to seal the envelope before putting te stamp on Wink

AlphaBetaOoda · 10/07/2013 12:46

Heston would have a night cap too.

Raahh · 10/07/2013 13:47

Raahh · 10/07/2013 13:52

He probably has a red velvet smoking jacket too, for when he has a laydee over.

Zara- definitely just a squirt of Chanel no 5 kind of gal (if you can get the shoes off her feet)

Daniel probably has similar pj's to Heston. he just never gets towear themWink

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/07/2013 14:22

Raahh - I'm still using Christmas stamps from about 3 years ago, I bulk buy every Christmas and always forget that I have an accumulated stash left over from previous years. Beats the prices rises though.

Back from hospital, it was a bit grim as one of the pins had got itself buried under the skin and the Dr had to poke around the wound for what seemed like about 10 mins before he found it, luckily it was the friendly consultant and not some junior Doc. The nurses were very good at distracting DS. Still in a cast though, got to go back again next Fri and have that one off.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/07/2013 14:30

Oh yes, stopped at the shops on the way home, plenty of bunting in the 99p Store.

toldmywrath · 10/07/2013 14:43

I can't stop thinking of TBFE ins his flat cap Anne ...
I bought loads of stamps (at least 100+) before the last price rise, was it in 2011. I still have loads left, cos the letters we get with stamps on are not usually franked, so I do as Anne does -glue them onto a new envelope.
Tight much me Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/07/2013 15:50

I never seem to get any proper letters anymore, only birthday and Christmas cards.

MsNobodyAgain · 10/07/2013 18:54

who poor DS. I bet you will both be glad when it is all over.

Ahem, bunting...pray tell EXACTLY the name of the shop you found it in please. I have been in Poundland/Poundstretcher and Home Bargains and there was nothing.

I may have to resort to trying the fancy dress stall on the indoor market but I don't like going there as it smells of fish (the market, not the stall)

I'm glad to see the random nonsense continues on this thread! I'm missing my secret Doctors watching sessions - not much hope of getting hold of the tv control in the summer holidays though Sad.

What is all the bunting for?

MsNobodyAgain · 10/07/2013 22:19

For the royal birth Grin.

The neighbours are used to me getting the bunting out at every opportunity.

Although I may miss out unless who shares her source.

OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 10/07/2013 22:21

And hoggy can you record Doctors and watch it later or is it too shameful to admit you watch it to anyone else?

This is where single parents have the advantage. My house, my tv, my remote. Wa ha ha ha!

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 10/07/2013 22:33

I watch on laptop or phone in the Hols HoggyTruffle, great thing about iplayer Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/07/2013 23:15

MsNobodyAgain · 11/07/2013 04:49

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 11/07/2013 07:04

Must have missed your post Whoknowswherethetimegoes, glad they're out and hope getting his cast off is quick next week bet he'll be so pleased :)

Raahh · 11/07/2013 08:50

Grin @ MsN and her bunting hunt.

I was like that last year- didn't bother with bunting or jubilee stuff at all. Then dd's Rainbows (group? pack??) decided to do a Jubilee/Olympics/Wear union flags type thing about 3 weeks later. When there was bugger all left. One day- flags in every shop going- next, nada. I finally managed to get a hat and a little flag. I am a useless parent.

That reminds me- today is 'Wimbledon' themed. I need to find her shorts...

I was full of good intentions this week to actually tidy the house (a bit) now the tennis is over. But its tooooooooo waaaarrrrmmm . So, I am currently watching the tweenies, whilst drinking a cup of coffee that has been warmed up in the microwave so many times it will probably kill me. Grin
