Shock

This is a thread for all fans of the weekday soap Doctors, BBC1, 1.45pm. However, it's taking its annual break from 21st June until it returns on 22nd July.

Therefore, us fans are waiting patiently in the virtual waiting room.

  • Mrs T is rearrrrrrrrrrranging the leaflets
  • Zaniel are getting frisky in the cupboard (again)
  • Al is spying on Jas eating her lunch (disclaimer: he may fancy the lunch more than Jas)

So regulars please sign in and take a seat. Newbies very welcome indeed as we plan to keep the thread going by talking drivel throughout the break. 'Tis fun Grin

Sounds like a lovely day cinnamon.

I've just had a nice natter with the next door neighbour over the fence. Was nice to have a conversation that wasn't about Minecraft or racing cars for a change. Smile

I booked the DCs into after school club today to give myself some much needed studying time. All these appts at the fracture clinic / speech therapist/physio have meant having to reschedule my work hours which has left little time for studying. I only managed an hours worth, and cooked dinner before picking the DCs up, but I feel as though I have had a much needed breather in my schedule.

Back to the fracture clinic for wires out of DS's wrist tomorrow. When I picked DD up from drama the other night I realised that one of the waiting Dads was the consultant who did the wires the other week. Had a chat with him and he said he'll keep an eye out for us tomorrow, which was kind of him (not counting on it TBH, knowing how busy they get, but nice thought).

Glad Sports Day went well Cinnamon

Did you talk about Doctors MsN?

MsNobodyAgain · 09/07/2013 20:53

who what a coincidence. Hope you get seen speedily. I am at hospital with DS2 on Thursday for his 3 month blood check. I know he is fine but the waiting does do my head in.

Did we talk about 'Doctors'? Arf! She's about half my age and she works so I kept my saddo obsession quiet. Not that I am ashamed or anything lies

What an anxious time of it you have MsNo sure everything will be fine but doesn't ever stop the worrying when DC are involved. Good luck for Thursday.
Back to the local shops thread-we have an Aldi 10mins walk away & it had planning permission for years before it was built=openend last year& it is brilliant. We have a Tesco, Sainsburys & Lidl within 20mins walking distance plus a Morrisons, Aldi & Waitrose a few miles away-very ecelectic down here in the South!

toldmywrath · 09/07/2013 21:10

What does ecelectic mean?? Eclectic Grin

MsNobodyAgain · 09/07/2013 21:25

Thanks told

I want a Waitrose here just to see what all the fuss is about. There is probably one within driving distance but I am far too lazy to find it.

Just tucked the kids up FINALLY! Bedtime is getting later and later every day.

OP posts:
WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 09/07/2013 21:35

I love our new Waitrose, but split my custom fairly equally with Sainsburys still (go to Sainsburys when I need non food stuff, such as clothes for the DCs, household bits etc). Waitrose has those self scan things that you use on the trolley, just brilliant (and the DCs love helping). Makes the normal checkouts at Sainsburys seem a real chore.

Told - you are spoilt! We have Iceland and M&S food as well as the other two, but they are both small and I only use them for odds and ends.

MsN - good luck for Thurs, it must be nerve-wracking. My two seem to have switched into holiday bedtime mode (Tuesday is our worst night because DS gets back late from Cubs). They are both still awake.

cinnamongreyhound · 09/07/2013 21:49

Hope all goes well WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes!

Our second closest tesco does scan and shop ds2 and I love it Grin

Raahh · 09/07/2013 21:56

Re- Waitrose,we have 2 within about 3 miles (where I live crosses the borders of 'Shameless' and Manchester United Footballer territoryGrin). It took a while forthtem to venture 'north' I have been twice, despite being entitled to discount when I worked at JL.Grin I LOVE Sainsburys for childrens' clothes- the deals are far better than Tesco,

And today, thinking of MsNo - I ventured into our new Heron Foods- and bought bleachGrin

I think Mrs T would say'Herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrron Foods' - I didn't notice any redbush. Grin

Raahh · 09/07/2013 21:56

And good luck for Thursday,MsN !

MsNobodyAgain · 10/07/2013 06:20

Ah, you're all lovely thanks.

Well, can you believe it is bingo day again? At least it will be air conditioned. I need a win as I want some new pyjamas.

Which leads me to thinking (in a strictly non-pervy way) what the Doctors cast would each wear to bed.

Zaniel - nothing obviously
Mrs T - I would have said winceyette until we saw what she bought to wear for the Rev
Al - squeezed into something he stole from Jas's bedroom. Ewwwwww.

Any other suggestions? Grin

OP posts:
AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/07/2013 07:50

Jimmi - surgical gloves

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/07/2013 07:50

TBFE - a flat cap

MsNobodyAgain · 10/07/2013 08:11

Anne is that all for TBFE? Shock. What about camouflage pjs and green and brown bed sheets? You'd never find him!

Arf at Jimmi in surgical gloves. He could have antiseptic wipes to hand too.

cinnamongreyhound · 10/07/2013 08:19

Heston would be in a nice pair of blue and white striped cotton button up shirt pyjamas and some fetching slippers :)

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/07/2013 08:27

Chris - winceyette pyjamas
Karen - saucy negligee
Kevin - boxers
6TL - probably bondage gear or something

MsNobodyAgain · 10/07/2013 08:27

Very British. Good old Heston.

Mandy would wear a onesie.

OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 10/07/2013 08:28

who 6tl, you are soooooo right!

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/07/2013 10:03

Oh I do love the randomness of a Doctors threadGrin

at winceyette. I love a nice wincetettte nightie- floral, with bows. Probably blue. And it will smell of Coty L'aimant. Or was thatjust mygranny?Grin

Gobbyplod just wears his helmet to bed
Heston, definitely traditional blue/white striped pj, probably from John Lewis in Solihull.

Raahh · 10/07/2013 10:05

-if 6tl wears bondage gear to bed, we now know why she keptcovered upin that grubby dressing gown for months. Grin

Barry- full sercurity uniform, because he is always on duty.

Raahh · 10/07/2013 10:05

(I will get my space bar fixed one of these days)

Raahh · 10/07/2013 10:06

x-post cinnamonre Heston!

Raahh · 10/07/2013 10:08

Freya (who?) probably wore a lumberjack shirt, and Doc Martens to bed- before she went up in smoke.

(I'll stop now)

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/07/2013 10:10

I love John Lewis in Solihull, going back to the shops theme, it's near the ILs, although I have never managed a visit to Aldi when I'm there I always go to John Lewis.

Sitting in the hospital waiting room amusing myself by thinking of Doctors bingo calls for MsN.

Number 7 - cheer up Kevin
Number 8 - Gobby's late
Number 9 - Heston's wine

Raahh · 10/07/2013 10:17

ooh- yes
number three- Rrrrrredbush tea
