Shock

This is a thread for all fans of the weekday soap Doctors, BBC1, 1.45pm. However, it's taking its annual break from 21st June until it returns on 22nd July.

Therefore, us fans are waiting patiently in the virtual waiting room.

  • Mrs T is rearrrrrrrrrrranging the leaflets
  • Zaniel are getting frisky in the cupboard (again)
  • Al is spying on Jas eating her lunch (disclaimer: he may fancy the lunch more than Jas)

So regulars please sign in and take a seat. Newbies very welcome indeed as we plan to keep the thread going by talking drivel throughout the break. 'Tis fun Grin

Do you think we'll get a bank holiday? I don't remember getting one for Prince William.

I need new bunting. The rain and storms ruined my old lot that I had up for the Jubilee / Olympics.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/07/2013 13:09

I think they might use Zara's "real" name, Alexandra, Raahh. I do think Kate looks the type to watch the premier UK soap Doctors. Wink

No Doctors for a fortnight still. How will we get through this?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/07/2013 13:10

Princess Winifred of Wales does have a nice ring to it, though, I have to admit.

Raahh · 08/07/2013 13:12

Anne- that seems to be the front runner. Zara is also one of her favourite shopsGrin

But Winnie Wales would be brilliant.

Tennis

they have stolen our balls. Meanies.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 08/07/2013 13:15

Don't think there will be a bank holiday, have heard no mention of one.

Kevin Howard Heston Wales gets my vote.

I do like Winifred Wales though, quite dignified.

Raahh · 08/07/2013 13:15

Anne I will be posting drivel for the next two weeks, just to fill the gap.

Raahh · 08/07/2013 13:17

Now, I forgot Kevin-Prince Kev has a certain ring, and is due a revival somewhere

Raahh · 08/07/2013 13:39

And it's not even a new series of 'Land girls' is it?Sad

Where's 'The Indian Doctor'? I like that. And it's medical. innit.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/07/2013 13:40

Me too, Raahh. But then I always post drivel!

MsNobodyAgain · 08/07/2013 13:42

I can't believe I am actually going out again today purely for bunting. This wouldn't happen if Doctors was on.

OP posts:
AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/07/2013 13:42

I shall be watching Neighbours rather than the Land Girls.I always record it so it is nice to watch it live for a change. I can heartily recommend it for having a very high WTF rating.

Raahh · 08/07/2013 13:50

I used to watch Neighbours, did for years. And 'Home and Away' . I can't remember when I last saw eitherGrin

DD is fed up with the heat, and is nodding off- she is insisting we watch Charley Bear. Since I've hogged the tv for weeks, I will let herGrin

Raahh · 08/07/2013 13:54

MsN- could you pick me up some yoghurts? I've been out once- dd wanted to walk, and then decided she didn't. And I had to carry her home. It's not as easy as Posh Spice makes it look, lugging a massive toddler.Grin I really don't want to go again.

TIA Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/07/2013 14:01

And as if on cue, a ghost has just appeared on Neighbours! Told you it was WTF!

MsNobodyAgain · 08/07/2013 15:52

Sorry Raahh you missed your opportunity Sad

My township is utterly devoid of bunting [royal sad face emoticon]. I did pick up some bargains though. Gotta love B&M and Poundland.

Raahh · 08/07/2013 16:01

Grin MsN

I have sent dh several texts, because I keep forgetting what we need.

I got dd2 some fake crocs from Poundland yesterday (I know, mn sartorial sin, but she's 2!)It has stopped her insisting on wearing trainers, without socks. The trainers and her feet were starting to stinkGrinAnd for a £1, it doesn't matter as much if she loses one. Which she will.Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 08/07/2013 20:20

When is the due date?

I haven't watched land girls before so quite enjoyed that while ironing :)
We have sports day tomorrow at 1.30 so no afternoon viewing for me!

toldmywrath · 08/07/2013 20:32

What shop is B & M ? Is it a down upmarket version of M & S ?

Raahh · 08/07/2013 20:48

told

Grin

B&M Bargains is like the pound shop, but slighty dearer.Grin

At our town centre, we have- a Poundland/Poundworld/Pound bakery (makes greggs look like Selfridge's food hall)/Greggs/Home Bargains/poundstretcher/Iceland/Farm Foods/ B&M/Iceland/Bargain Booze and Asda.

It's bargain centralGrin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 08/07/2013 20:53

I would say it is positioned somewhere a bit below Wilkinsons in the pecking order. There's one in our nearest big town, here we are upmarket and only have The Original Factory Shop, Greggs and Iceland.

Raahh · 08/07/2013 20:53

oh-I forgot Wilkos (it's relatively newGrin)

MsNobodyAgain · 08/07/2013 20:59

Bet nobody has got a Heron Foods store near them.

Plenty of those exchange places around too, CeX, Cash Convertors and we have a Bright House shop (that faces the burger van). The smell of fried onions at 9am any day of the week. Bleurgh.

You all wanna live here now don't you? Grin

MsNobodyAgain · 08/07/2013 21:01

cinnamon due date is rumoured to be 20th I think.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 08/07/2013 21:03

We've got one of those shops where you scoop food out of big tubs. However we also have Waitrose as of last year. Our town isn't posh but it does try.

Raahh · 08/07/2013 21:07

Oh, we've just got a Heron too, it's literally only been there a week.- and yy to Cash converters etc- and 4 different pawnbroker/we buy gold/sell your soul type places.

It's great. Grin
