Shock

This is a thread for all fans of the weekday soap Doctors, BBC1, 1.45pm. However, it's taking its annual break from 21st June until it returns on 22nd July.

Therefore, us fans are waiting patiently in the virtual waiting room.

  • Mrs T is rearrrrrrrrrrranging the leaflets
  • Zaniel are getting frisky in the cupboard (again)
  • Al is spying on Jas eating her lunch (disclaimer: he may fancy the lunch more than Jas)

So regulars please sign in and take a seat. Newbies very welcome indeed as we plan to keep the thread going by talking drivel throughout the break. 'Tis fun Grin

Oh no, MsN! Sounds grim! And worse in the hot weather too. Poor you!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 07/07/2013 08:44

Morning all, sorry to hear there are is puking Chez Nobody.

A hectic day yesterday, DD's ballet school show, I was chaperoning backstage, we were at the theatre all day, great fun but tiring. Taking her and her best friend back for the senior show this afternoon, so no tennis for us this weekend, didn't watch much of the Murray SF on Fri either. I'm torn, of course I want a Brit to win Wimbledon (having grown up in the Jeremy Bates is the best we can do era) but not keen on Murray at all.

MsNobodyAgain · 07/07/2013 10:44

Thanks. He has been ok this morning. It's DS1. I am crossing my fingers that the rest of the family don't get it.

Weekend sounds hectic who. I've managed to banish the red wall in the bedroom. 2 coats of white and one coat of B&Q's finest 'Hint of Grey'.

When I told my sister it was B&Q paint she said "buy cheap, buy twice". Charming!

I know someone who used to work for ICI Dulux who says exactly the same thing MsN, but they would wouldn't they?

cinnamongreyhound · 07/07/2013 12:09

Glad to hear he's feeling better MsNobodyAgain!

I though b&q was quite good paint but I don't know much about paint to be fair!

We are off to my mums when dh gets home from work to celebrate dss's birthday. He's chosen to go there instead of being home and to have Chinese takeaway, have tried to persuade him to have a BBQ but he's having none of it!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 07/07/2013 18:10

Gutted that Murray won. Sad

However, in much more positive news I won some bath salts, a bottle of wine and a bottle of Champagne at the school fete! So I can drown my sorrows and forget all about the tennis!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/07/2013 19:17

Sounds like a good hoard! I won a bottle of Malibu at the school shoppig evening I had a stall at :)

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 07/07/2013 19:36

DH won a bottle of Prosecco in a raffle the other day, we haven't won anything for ages so that was nice.

My finest moment raffle prize-wise was a 2kg jar of Branston Pickle at some charity barn dance years ago. You know when it's the sort of raffle where people go up to a table and pick their own prize and they gradually get crapper and crapper till there's only one left and there's this certain inevitability about whose number will get called next. I gave it to a bunch of students sitting at the next table, they were happy enough with it.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 07/07/2013 19:37

Might have been 5kg actually. It was a massive catering size one anyway.

Raahh · 07/07/2013 19:51

Anne - I'm glad we can put to bed the 'Brit hasn't won since 1936' rubbish. And concentrate on the sport. I wanted Djoko to at least give us a 5 set match, before handing him the prize.

Hope everyone is feeling better MsN.

Can't believe we have OFAH to look forward toSad

Raahh · 07/07/2013 19:52

5 kg of Branston pickle! That's much better than winning Wimbledon!

MsNobodyAgain · 07/07/2013 22:28

Look at the 'quality' tv on now, C4 "Hot Tub Time Machine".

WTF?

I'm touting for new recruits on the Wimbledon threadGrin

Tennis
WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 07/07/2013 23:19

Good idea Raahh, I haven't done any recruiting for a while.

Pleased that Murray won in a "proud to be British" sort of way (I only watched 5 mins of it though, which probably brought my tournament total viewing up to about half an hour). I read an interview with him this morning where he talks about the Dunblane massacre and the impact that has had on his life and I felt quite moved.

OFAH - boo!

OodPi · 08/07/2013 07:36

Not a tennis person here. Have felt rather thick last few days getting dh to explain it to me

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/07/2013 11:17

If I see one more person bleating on Facebook / TV / radio etc about it being 77 years I'll blow my top. Was Virginia Wade a figment of my imagination? Or don't women count?

Raahh · 08/07/2013 11:35

Anne- I agree. AgainGrinIt was fine when the distinction British man in the singles, was bring made, but that seems to have gone out of he window. It's laziness. And we've won other titles, in other comps at the Championship- Murray's own brother got there before himGrin

am soooo praying for Kate to give birth today

I'm feeling pre-menstrual and rubbish today. I have just burst into tears and sobbed for 5 minutes. The fact the tennis has finished has just made it worse. . Poor DD2 is wondering what the heck is up with me- but at least I was safely home from the shops this time!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/07/2013 11:52

Oh Raahh, I said I wanted Kate to give birth today to DH this morning!! Great minds! Grin

Feel for you and your PMT. Since I had DD my PMT has just become an absolute rage. I feel murderous with it.

Raahh · 08/07/2013 11:59

I wanted her to give birth yesterday, Anne- but today will doGrin

MsNobodyAgain · 08/07/2013 12:37

She can't give birth today, I've misplaced my bunting.
