He was approached to go on - by a researcher - that's no secret that they do that. He got 4 yeses from the judges, in fact Simon buzzed initially then changed his mind. They made a big thing of him turning round to admit he was wrong.
Then they released his picture as one of 5 acts the week before the auditions started on the TV. So we were hopeful they would screen his audition. You'd think, huh?
And he was shown as a "coming soon" act, twice at the end of BGMT.
But they never showed him.
He flashed onscreen during the "you're not through" footage.
The crew were lovely throughout, but I guess the producers make some unfair decisions on who to screen.
He's a singing ventriloquist. Sounds rubbish I know, but he's really contemporary. Has his own theatre show tour. Would have been good to get some BGT coverage to boost sales. Locally he's loved, but who would want to go see a vent???
But he'll keep working hard.
Don't want to give his full name here, but google Powell and ventriloquist and you'll find him. Plenty of youtube footage out there.
Now I've missed Alice sing and I'll have to rewind!
