Well, here we are again, another French Open. Yay ! Grin

It's a shame we wont see Murray, as he was playing very well, it would have been great to see the Top 5 'together' again.

No prizes for guessing who the favourite for the Mens is, VAMOS RAFA ! I'd love to see him win it for the 8th time.

Roger Fed is looking well, just started playing , it would be good to see him do well, although we all know Wimby is his best tournament.

Novak seemed to be struggling a bit earlier this year, after the Aussie Open win, it will be interesting to see how he fares this year on clay. Nicely set up so that he and Rafa will meet in the Semi's, should they both play well. Which easily leads to Rafa for the Final, and his 8th win ! Don't forget, Novak fans, that Rafa beat Nole in 4 sets last year. Wink

Serena Williams is looking her usual belting self, just thrashed her opponent, she must be a consideration for the win, as must last years winner, Maria Sharapova. I'd like to see Laura Robson do well, and Heather Watson, but realistically Laura could be out in the first round.

Hope everybody enjoys the tennis as much as I do, I'm going to have a great fortnight, 9:30am to 9:00pm everyday. Bliss !

Looking forward to having our usual daft threads running, along with the ogling and arguments. Here's to another great summer of tennis ! Wine

Oh,Li Na is not doing too well.Sad I'm not afan of Mattek-Sands and her attention seeking frocksGrin

Djoko looks like he will win comfortably- although the rain keeps coming.

Nadal won't get on today at this rateSad

Raahh · 30/05/2013 16:04
Sad

I wanted Li Na to go all the way.

C'mon Azarenka! Not because I'm fussed if you win, but I want to see Nadal

MrsVamosRAFA · 30/05/2013 16:15

Raahh

You sound like me. Seem to have only seen replays when I've been able to see a bit of the tennis today, but hopefully I'll be able to watch Rafa while eating me dinner ! Grin

Novak looks in ominous form today. Was SO willing Goffin on the other day, he could be one to watch.

Li Na is out, I've ascertained that much. The Radwanska sisters are doing well.

Some good tennis going on, when I've seen it !

am watching the interview with Leconte, Bahrami and Santoro. I love Bahrami and Leconte- really funny, but brilliant players.

Raahh · 30/05/2013 17:48

It's really raining nowSad
Doubt there will be any play tonight-it looks quite gloomy.

CremeEggThief · 30/05/2013 18:24

:(.

Raahh · 30/05/2013 20:40

Hopefully, Nadal will be on early tomorrow, to stand a chance of completing his match. Of course these things aren't organised to benefit the player- they are scheduled to appease the tv companies.

No order of play has been posted on the RG website yet...

Raahh · 30/05/2013 21:14

ok- schedule up, 11am (10am here?) start for Nadal. Will need to bribe kids in the morningGrin. So long as ITV don't decide to show Bartoli instead...

marjproops · 30/05/2013 21:30

Am I the only one that cant stand Nadal? (ducks before a million tennis balls are lobbed at me!)

I USED to absolutely love him when he first appeared on the scene but the constant bum touching and front scratching and those stupid expressions and apparent secret coaching from the players box from uncle tony which he gets away with have just sooooo put me off him.

and he was much better looking when younger!

credit though that he is gracious in defeat.

MrsVamosRAFA · 30/05/2013 21:32

Ah well. We wait till tomorrow. Let's hope he has an easier round. 3 sets, done. Wink

Yep, Raahh 10am here. Coverage starts on ITV4 at 9:30am. I would imagine they will show the Rafa match, although some of the commentators do say they are bound by what the french producers/directors decide to show, so maybe not get too excited about watching the Rafa match till after Bartoli ?

I think Maria Shriekapova won her match, they were lucky enough to get back on court, I think because they presumed she could get the match won before it rained again/got dark ! Rafa's was cancelled as there was no chance of completion tonight.

Hope everyone is enjoying the tennis !

marj -yes.

Well, probably not the only oneGrin

He's so very different in playing style from my all time favourite player Edberg, that I'm not sure why I like him so much- but I do love watching him.

Raahh · 31/05/2013 10:50

And as soon as I sit down to watch properly,Nadal gets his serve broken. Angry

Raahh · 31/05/2013 12:38

Well, Nadal back on track. (and then starts to lose his serve as soon as i say that...)
Ferrer racing ahead in his first set.

Monfils, Federer and Tsonga playing later-very good day for tennis!Grin

Raahh · 31/05/2013 17:43

C'mon Monfils!!

Raahh · 31/05/2013 17:44

eek

Raahh · 31/05/2013 17:44
Raahh · 31/05/2013 17:45

he appears to be throwing this awaySad

PetiteRaleuse · 31/05/2013 17:55

He can't. Musn't.

Raahh · 31/05/2013 18:00

oh bum

PetiteRaleuse · 31/05/2013 18:02

Arse. Oh well, another set to watch and enjoy.

PetiteRaleuse · 31/05/2013 18:03

Monfils has trouble finishing matches when he's under pressure. He's like the French Henman, seems to bottle it last minute. Very frustrating to watch. I hope he can get his confidence back this set.

Sad

not looking good.

PetiteRaleuse · 31/05/2013 18:29

Another set to enjoy, I said optimistically. Not with my head in my hands :(

Raahh · 31/05/2013 18:31

he'll be re-playing his missed match pints, over and over...

Maryz- Nadal, Ferrer and Federer all played and won today. AndTsonga. Djokovic played yesterday and looked really strong.
